Why is there so much whining and complaining about events? If you don't like it don't play. I like galaxy missions. I plan ahead for them. I'm glad voyages have made it so I don't have to spend a ton of extra money to stay competitive. In the last one, I spent a total of $10 plus daily card money on voyages and finished 91st, so I don't see what the problem is. I like galaxy missions way more than having to run shuttles every three hours.
I really hope the developers just tune out all the whining. I think some players feel like they should be entitled to win every week.
I'm done complaining... it doesn't matter anyway. No one listens. Enjoy the event everyone. I'll take what I can get, but somehow, this game just gets more greedy with every event and every day that passes.

Also, so what if they want to make money from people playing the game. No one is forcing you to buy anything, and the developers do not work for free. I can do pretty well at this game buying a daily card and spending $5 to $10 a week, which I don't mind doing because I enjoy the game and will pay to have nice things.
I don't consider $5 or $10 a week big money. I spend more than that on lunch most of the time.
Just adding one more voice to the "oh please not an extra day in a galaxy event" chorus.
Honey Bare would be great, but just reaching the O'Brien threshold last time was too much work, far more painful than my worst days at my job.
I hit all the thresholds within 2 hours of the start of the event. If they made it much easier then everyone would hit them. The whole point is most people don't get them all. They aren't supposed to be automatic. Where's the fun in that?

Honestly, it's not the expense that makes galaxy low on my list, and I know I am not alone in this based on other forum posts and comments.
I'll put this very simply.
1) Galaxies use chrons for event play
2) Leveling characters requires chrons
3) Leveling of characters is impacted negatively by spending chrons on the galaxy.
4) If you are doing well in events, unless you take an airlock a lot approach you need to level characters to free up crew slots. (And yes I have leveled the threshold during an event before and still make top 1000 but it did cut it a lot closer and hinder my competitiveness) Or you spend on more slots.
5) Galaxy events add characters to your pool while impacting your ability to hang onto them.
1) Faction events use transmissions for event play
2) Leveling character requires chrons.
3) Leveling of characters can proceed full steam because you are not spending chrons on shuttles.
4) You can immortalize the same number of characters you gain in the event without impacting your event competitiveness.
I do well in both event types because I put the effort into doing so, and if I play it right I'll get top 1000 in a galaxy without spending if I suspend other gameplay for a while. For shuttle events I don't have to suspend any other gameplay to compete in the event. I MIGHT spend on an event pack to FF the threshold character if they are not existing because the Faction loot table only gives you 3/4 of said character. Otherwise I have not spent a single dollar on a faction event in a long long time. But that's why DB does the galaxies, because many folks do spend for that event type. (And the pack sales must not be as lucrative as chron sales.)
Frankly I don't find either event type 'fun'. The competitiveness and getting the character is what's desired--- and the small amount of plot I sometimes find intriguing. I do so so that I can enjoy the collecting aspect of the game as well as some of the other gameplay elements. Hell if I'm not overflowing with chrons I do away missions without Warp just to experience more story elements.
I actually find the cadet missions more fun than either event type and wish there was more variation to the missions.. perhaps rotating monthly, though that would cause the cadet minimalists to riot in the streets.
And speaking of Honey Bare, Happy Birthday wishes go out today to the lovely and talented Terry Farrell!
As well as downright nice and kind human being. She's one of the Star Trek cast members that has been beyond ordinary nice in cons when I've run across her. (others have been nice too, she's just been just about the top of the list.)

Well, I choose not to level up my crew while a galaxy event is about to start or is in progress. The crew will be there when the event is over, especially if we're running shuttles the next week. I have enough of a decent crew that it doesn't really impact my gameplay to not level crew during the period before and during a galaxy event.
Also ever since I could pretty much beat all the Riker missions all new 3* and under crew get turned into honor asap. They really are not useful for anything else. I've got 150 slots and 125 crew at this moment, plus a couple of 3*s in the freezer. I've never run into a space problem and I believe the crew slots came from VIP, which is a nice perk.
I also prefer expedition events as my favorite, and we never get them. Some people get upset by them? Why would they get upset with them? Yes, they may require more actual time spent interacting with the game, but why would that be a problem?
Galaxy remains my favorite, because without them I wouldn't have anyone to level. So the chron expenditure doesn't really matter to me. Maybe this will change when I finally get a 4th shuttle to compete in Faction events, but till then bring on the Galaxy FF 4*s!
Oh, and I think I like Expeditions...but I feel like there's only been three of them since I started playing and they all had different rules, so not sure.
I usually compete in these but y'all's lost your mind thinking folks with families will even bother competing. Please post the following weeks event early, you know, because of the Holiday. Will start working those crew instead.

I've got all 1s 2s and 3's in the freezer except a few out for cadet and advanced cadet missions. If DB does what they do some weeks you get up to 1 new 5 and 2 new 4s. That's not counting 4* drops from Voyages (though most of mine have been duplicates at this point.) That alone takes some time to level. You choose not to do so during the event as I assume you just airlock some of the 4s a lot more aggressively or simply haven't been around that long to have accumulated that much crew.
I've got 230 slots and 230 unthawed crew at the moment, 4 Cadets and 5 Advanced Cadets so I have mission flexibility. Gonna probably need to drop some 4s in the Freezer for the next event to make some room. I've also got a growing number of 5s that are not FFed so crew slot crunches will catch up to you before long. Give it time. Voyages provide some relief, but when we have multiple galaxies a month that's half your month you're not leveling -- especially when you extend the event to more than the usual 4 days like this week.
Voyages mitigate this somewhat, so it's not as bad as it was this time last year, but the crew crunch is real, and when it catches up to you, unless you decide your new prize 5s and 4s from events weren't worth competing for you will face this as your game progresses.
I usually compete in these but y'all's lost your mind thinking folks with families will even bother competing. Please post the following weeks event early, you know, because of the Holiday. Will start working those crew instead.
Ppl that want Jadzia will do anyway. As i pointed out before, even if you start with 12hs event time left you can make it to top 1000 if you have enough chrons stored. And this event will be brutal, and more competetive than ever, regardless it a US holiday. And i can t wait for the thread „ Its impossible to get Top 1000“ ..... DB has done everything right, and crazy scores will prove it.
I also prefer expedition events as my favorite, and we never get them. Some people get upset by them? Why would they get upset with them? Yes, they may require more actual time spent interacting with the game, but why would that be a problem?
I guess some folks don't like a repetitive grind. I thought they were challenging ways to figure out how much crew you can use.

Bonus crew:

Thanks Shan. Any update about our concerns over the event length?
Does the new Colonel Worf count as a variant of Worf?
I would assume no, as he was actually Worf's grandfather and family members don't normally count unless specifically mentioned. However, he is listed next to the other Worfs in the vault suggesting someone at DB considers him a variant...?
Of course I don't have him, so it's irrelevant for me at this stage, but it would be interesting to know for future reference.

Hope your gonna increase the max rewards as last Galaxy Event the max was 1050 and took forever and cost alot of Chronitons please reset it to its original settings.
Fingers crossed for a surprise cadet of Constance Goodheart with Hologram and maybe Starfleet (since I think she was a Delaney Sister) and high enough Diplomacy so I can finally freeze Picard.... plus, it rounds out the Proton collection unless Satan’s Robot is a thing one day, which I personally hope doesn’t happen.

You are correct, Colonel Worf is not considered a variant of Worf.
Ok... know why a longer event **tsk tsk** (especially Galaxy)? Because now we have only 2 days to use the winning faction bonuses. And Chronitons are precious. And maybe we want some normal game time too to level the crew for the next event. And Galaxy events don't give faction bonuses at the end to use during the week. 6 days events are exhausting. 5 days are too much too. 2 day events are plenty. Please stop this.

The Delaney Sisters were the Twin Mistresses of Evil. So they would be in addition to Goodheart to round things out.
Hey @Shan , there is some confusion. This event is going on, correct? Some in my fleet are saying that the event is going to be pushed back a week, and we are all getting free Chrons? Plus confirm this message of hope!

EDIT: I feel like I should make an attempt to actually clear this up, rather than just be my normal cheeky self. What your fleetmates saw (I assume) was this post of mine. Why they thought it was an official decree from Shan, I have no idea. However, it was meant as basically "I personally dislike the idea of a 5-day Galaxy event, but wouldn't it be nice if instead the announcement said that they were giving us the week off from events, and on top of that, they were giving us all freebies?"
