Shan, please consider not scheduling galaxy events for weekends with extended days for a holiday in the future. For faction events the cost to players of playing an extra day is minimal, but for Galaxy events every extra day just means that many more chronitons/supplies used as the ranked cutoffs continue to grow. If you saw the posts from previous events complaining about the points needed for ranked rewards, think how much worse it's going to be when everyone has an extra day they're playing too. Thanks.

EDIT: Ideally, this announcement should have said, "Due to Thursday 11/23 being a holiday in the US, the event will start on the following Thursday, 11/30. There will be no event next weekend. But we are gifting everyone with 1000 chronitons and 500,000 credits for you to spend leveling your crew. Happy Thanksgiving!"

I disagree. Galaxy events needs lower time requirements, then f.e. faction events where xou have to send shuttles every 3hs. So galaxy you only need 2-3hs to wrap ip high points and then call it a day, easy to do. Of course it costs chrons.

Exploiting my love of DS9 yet again to try to coerce me into playing a Galaxy Event, eh? The frustrating part is that it'll probably work. I won't get within sniffing distance of Honey Bare Jadzia, but at least I'm guaranteed a 1/4 Duchamps at the least thanks to the community rewards. And it's nice that Buster Kincaid is finally in the game! I hadn't really set out to collect Harry Kims, but I've got three of the four currently in circulation, so I guess I may as well go for this one, too.

Also, I share the sentiment that Galaxy is the least compatible format with an extension. You know what'd be dope? Changing this to an Expedition. Just sayin'.

While I do really like these characters, I am disappointed that this event will be galaxy. Burnout on faction and galaxy is starting to take its toll. A galaxy event with an extra day is ridiculous. Shan, please ask the design team to expedite delivery of another event type. Expedition or something new.

That applies to all players, so no disadvantage. If you think, this is too expensive, just because one more day:
How about "1-Day Galaxy Events"? Or...maybe a 60 Minute Event, so that you can keep more Chrons...

I agree it applies to everyone and is not a disadvantage. I would love -1 day galaxy events, as would most players I'm sure. If you're only competing for threshold rewards it doesn't matter, but if you want the 5* DB just increased the cost of playing the event because their staff is off. Not much for players to be thankful for.

Thanks Shan for the slightly-less-early than it had been but still early notice - I JUST in the last week have finished up Cigar Worf AND Trader Worf, but still have Baku Worf AND Proto Worf AND Sheriff Worf to work on...if only it wasn't a galaxy and all of them would actually be helpful...

Nice set of crew. The scores are going to be really high. Five days of shuttles would have been a bit much so I am glad it is a Galaxy event, even though I generally do not like Galaxy events.
Voyages have made them more tolerable

That's just DB fooling you. Voyages have made Galaxy events worse. Before you were chron limited and you would generally run out of 1 or 2 items in every recipe. Now because you have enough chrons to keep farming those first 2 items, you eventually run out of a third or fourth item. The more chronitons you have and the more you play, the more it depletes your inventory. Sure it feels like you're playing more, but so is everyone else. Voyages has just raised the points of Galaxy events and forced you to burn through even more of your inventory to compete.

I wonder if Honey Bare is going to have an obligatory new unique trait like all recent galaxy 5* rewards and what it could be. I'll have to go back and rewatch that episode to get an inkling.

I don’t see why the event would start Wednesday. That means we’re still burdened by this game with an active event on thanksgiving. Shouldn’t it be starting Friday instead? And preferably only last 3 days. That would be ideal. DB I hope you’re taking notes 📝.

Shan can you give an update on the planned update to the reward structure? This is a great example of why it is needed. I can participate heavily in this event but it is so long and will cost a lot just to rank decently.
