It'll be interesting to see how the pricing in the market develops...most people seem to be going low right now, but I don't expect that to last long.
I'd say that prices are all over the place right now. For example, I got two Bajoran polestars for 1,000 a piece but then I saw the price was 5,000. The market is volatile!
It's interesting, that's for sure. Once prices stabilize, we then see what costs what.
Exactly why I'm holding on to my Pandronian polestar. No way I'm selling that baby at 1000 ISM.
I've got enough atm, may put in a few asks for rare ones I know I'll want in the coming months though, in case they go from 2k to 20k after the initial rush.

Exactly what I did - I've now secured what I need for Prisoner Kim and Breen Kira, ready for them to be added to the portal. I'm also buying some that seem cheap right now, but I suspect will eventually be in demand (e.g. anything that will help with existing collections).
Another thing to consider is that the most ISM I've seen in a screen shot from anyone is still below 400k (I'm sure someone has more, just going off what I've seen). But ISM is something that will consistently pile up for people and impact how much people are willing to buy and sell for. 20k may seem expensive right now, but will it be in a month?

Came here to say this. Accidentally got rid of an Ambassador polestar after trying to dematerialize my Starfleet polestars
If you dematerialized a polestar by accident, please let support know and we will see what we can do.
Dematerializing a polestar or a constellation is not a market transaction, so Support will be able to help, within reason
Some things are listed for crazy amounts. Someone is trying too hard to prove the 98th Rule of Acquisition
Not feedback specifically about the new feature, but I just wanted to say that the amount of time and care put into the icons for the Polestars is really paying off. They're all simple but evocative, and it makes it extremely easy to navigate quickly when competing for those snipes.
Add an ability to see only polestars or constellations when searching on a particular trait.
I do see that polestars have clearly different coloring than constellations, but it could be even more refined.
Nice that you can sort for "hottest items" btw - human polestar at first place.
We've asked for years to add some way to target specific crew for purchase, and this seems like the closest we'll ever get, without spending DIL, that keeps the gauntlet and honor hall crew exclusive, and that doesn't appear to be vulnerable to any breaks or exploits
Already did some shopping and turned 2 human pornstars polestars into a dahar master one, picked up a few others for my next couple of retrievals, and will have to see which others i can afford to part with...who else thinks this deserves a "well done" for DBTPWRG?
The interface is easy to use and intuitive, although I did appreciate the video walkthrough to me dive in quickly. I was able to find everything I needed, sell most of what I wanted, and it was fun watching prices fluctuate. Some personal stats:
I found prices were far better if I listed what I wanted. My orders got filled pretty quick, and for fair prices. They were, admittedly, not for any Rockstar polestars.
Biggest spread for a single polestar was Explorer. I purchased two, the first for 10k, the second for 800. I hope the latter wasn't a typo.
My 14 month retrieval backlog is extreme, but there’s really 5 new characters I want, three of whom aren't in the portal and may not show up in the next update. The rest are extra copies, low priority collection, and a few combinations I put together beforehand for characters I like, but aren't in a rush to get. I imagine things will sort out differently.
To re-iterate my initial statement, I really enjoyed the new system, and had fun using it. As cool new characters are released, I may look at getting relevant polestars for later stars, even if I push to get my first copy from an event.

It’s like no one at WRG has ever taken an economics class or perhaps this is intentional. Constellations shouldn’t be in the market at all or they should have a cap on the price.
Are you implying that the Judge Q constellation, currently being offered for 300k ISM, is a ripoff?
TBH, I think that's part of the point of the Celestial Market - let the free market determine the right price. We're 8 hours in, so people are still figuring things out - both casuals and hard core players alike. Things will settle down in a week or two and find their fair value. In the meantime, some people will make a killing and some will be killed.
Or people could not pay the overly expensive price for those?

For me it's a risk/reward thing. I bought two Rarity constellations (one at 5k, one at 6k). One gave me a Common polestar, and the other gave me a Legendary. One of those holds no value for me, but the other I can either use for myself or turn around and sell it for significantly more than what I paid for it. Some Constellations have next to no value (Admiral Janeway, I'm looking at you), but others have a decent chance of paying off.
