Regarding the "event phase has ended" issue in skirmishes, it could be due to having selected a crew that is in overflow. Crew in overflow should not be presented when selecting crew for a skirmish but due to a bug, they are.
You say that we have no idea what goes into game development. I think it’s incumbent on the developer to show us why what we’re saying is wrong.
Yes, game developers have finite resources. However, I question many of the areas to which TP has put in their resources during its time owning Timelines. Retrieval is nice, but takes 15 minutes every 3 weeks, max. I know a bunch of folks who hit level 99 in the game and ask if there’s anything more to do. A lot of those folks have cut back their playing or quit outright.
It seems like we switched to a card collecting game without saying it’s a card collecting game. That’s fine if that’s the goal, but make a clear announcement so that people can adjust their expectations accordingly. Otherwise these forums have a bunch of people who feel like they’re the victims of a “bait and switch”.
- keep in mind that you have no idea about what is involved in making/maintaining a game
Dear Shan, unless you have Q like powers you don´t know the background/jobs/etc. of each and every user. Personally I have an industry background for example. And I am sure that goes for some others 2. So a generalizing statement like that is assumptive and for the advocate of peace which you usually are arrogant and not helpful. Yes, you get payed by TP and so of course you defend them, but as you always ask for: The tone can often make a deciding difference into bringing something across.
That aside you don´t even need to have an idea about what is involved in making/maintaining a game. Cause many aspects are clear for everyone who is kinda deeply interested in this game. For example:
For game development standards the team is small. And since the team is small decisions/priorities made should be well thought out. And many choices like stats from yesterday or, going by official statements, no priority on new game modes are simply puzzling. And are in complete contrast to nearly every other mobile game on the market.
Usually stats go up and up. And of course to make users interested in getting these power beasts game modes or features where you need this strength are implemented. That is a fact. And to my "incompetent" sense a good business approach. If you want to be succesful by doing things completely different, ok. Also while this game was always about collecting, after starting it there was also a purpose in this collecting. For many veterans this purpose got lost completely.
And sure, if I would have started this game just a few days ago I would have been astonished by everything that is on offer. And probably even be overwhelmed. For longtime players there is simply too less fresh content on offer. Maybe that is your business model, captivate new players, try to get a few bucks from them. While the most loyal and in many cases most spending users are just taken for granted. That again would be an approach against most other business models and against all logic though.
As said: You are an employee, you need to defend your company. But the Shan I thought you are would also show more empathy to the users of STT.
I cannot "Awesome" the last two posts by @Navarch and @JeanLucKirk enough. Well said, and I couldn't agree more on the new "collecting" goal of the game, and the puzzling direction of development.

Yep. I think that the "you have no idea...." comment Shan made was way out of line and also a big deviation from what we normally see from them. I can understand that it probably gets irritating seeing people talk less than fondly about the company that employs them, but making baseless assumptions about peoples knowledge/skills/value is a behavior that is usually moderated on these forums.
Skirmish was added in June 2018.... So I'd update your post to say "since 2018"
Skirmish is just a package that takes existing ship battles into 5 battles with some points/rewards, throws it at us as an "event" and calls it a day. I would be extremely hesitant to call this new development.
The last truly new thing they created that involved new "gameplay" was Voyages ... September 2017.

@Shan I'm not sure if this was directed at me, or if the timing of your post was purely coincidental (I actually give the benefit of the doubt in this case), but I take great offense to much of what you just said.
1. Most of the complaints being raised are objective facts. No new gameplay since voyages were introduced. No new events since skirmishes were introduced. Many longstanding bugs still persist years later.
2. I am sure there are at least some players that have IT/development experience, whether it's gaming, apps, or something entirely different. To suggest that our complaints are invalid without mobile gaming experience is incredibly insulting, ignorant, and comes across as being extremely defensive.
3. Several complaints call into question the communication, accountability and transparency of the game, especially since WRG took over. Again, many of us (myself included) work in professions that touch on at least some of these corporate responsibilities, which have never been the strong suit of any of this game's owners. I have seen (and made) many suggestions via the forum and player surveys for how these areas could be improved, to better connect with players and manage expectations, where being proactive and engaging would go a long way for owner/player relations.
4. As for constructive feedback, we have this forum and various in-game surveys that engage the players for suggestions, yet far too often what we wind up getting is stuff that is seemingly coming out of left field, with the commonly asked for stuff continuously appearing to fall on deaf ears - new events, new gameplay options to give us something to do with crew, fix longstanding bugs, better communication, published schedule for regular updating of portal/loot tables/honor hall/gauntlet, etc...
Seeing players reaching the boiling point should not be coming as a surprise, especially given the recent increase in issues and errors, to the point of becoming the norm and expected operation of the game (ie: multiple events in a row were messed up, several new crew releases were botched, players being told that new gameplay was being put on the back-burner in favor of features that promote the shifting emphasis to card collecting, players being banned due to a mistake the devs made by accidentally adding a 'more' button, etc...).
Indeed I do not know what all of your backgrounds are.
However I do know that any gaming studio professional who would partake in these discussions, would not provide some of the comments I've seen in this thread or elsewhere on these forums.
It is not about me defending my employers, it is about a general rule that applies to any of us, for any situation, regardless of the business/profession involved.
True I could have been more granular and say "keep in mind that you have no idea about what is involved in making/maintaining a game such as ours, the day to day of our operations, and the various challenges that come along the way, etc, etc"
My empathy encompasses players and studio alike.
This thread started well with a very simple concept of a list of 3 things, it had the potential to be very useful, and unfortunately devolved.
I hope it can resume its course with its original intent
I'll assume that the servers are cycling in prep for the noon ET update, because I'm being bounced like a ping pong ball in the spin cycle. I *hope* my purchase of Weyoun took. I got the Odo, but Weyoun hasn't shown yet. I completed the purchase mid crash, so it doesn't always show immediately, but I hope I got him. No way to know if I need to try again.

To get back on track, even though i work in IT, and also have some experience with game development...
1. No new episodes - it was the story that brought me to this game, not card collecting part. I am well aware that time and work invested in that part of the game does not have good ROI, but it is good in long term. New episodes can be extremely difficult to finish, so that even real veterans have difficult time to finish them of. Or you can create episode for specific characters and there is no chance of finishing it without immo version of some legendary - therefore Celestial market become more important.
2. Time commitment and management - this game is taking too much personal time in events, and at the same time there are times in the week when there is nothing to do after doing dailies.
3. Voyages - there could be some further development. Eable more than one voyage possible. Or make second voyage for superrare and lower crew only (like Lower decks : ))
Just give us something to do with all those cards we collected.
To get back on track, even though i work in IT, and also have some experience with game development...
1. No new episodes
I completely agree, particularly since the last episode is a cliffhanger. I’ve brought it up before, and players were surprisingly divided on the issue. I see more story and more missions for supplies as a complete win, but others viewed it as new content that would grow stale after they’d blown through it in a day.

Yes. It would be a big win if the missions offered ways to farm for resources that are currently difficult/impossible to acquire
1) The toxic attitude on the forum
2) Some backgrounds are too flashy
Edit: 3) I found something annoying. The next event popping up before the last one is over. Which gives some 'spoilers' in the story.
Note, I must be lucky, I don't experience most of the bugs mentioned in this thread
1. No new event type for awhile now. Possibly something that requires the fleet to work together.
2. Squad rewards and older legendaries that are not relevant.
3. No new rooms to the star base (or create a new concept that promotes more fleet involvement).
“A committee is a cul-de-sac, down which good ideas are lured and quietly strangled.” —Mark TwainMEMBER: [BoB] Barrel of Bloodwine... We are recruiting and putting the “curv” in scurvy! Best Event Finish: #3 Honor Debt: Inconceivable...Honor Bank Account: Slowly building...
1) Same three event types over and over. Galaxy is a slow chore, faction is inconvenient, skirmish is barely tolerable. I have over 120,000 chrons just sitting there; I don't use them because the events are so damned tedious. I cannot understand why so much time and effort was put into crew retrieval, a peripheral feature which accounts for a tiny amount of playtime, when events are so stagnant.
2) Fully fused beholds. My last three premium packs all had a single behold with every choice being fully fused - and my roster is nowhere near as developed as many players.
3) Lack of roster space. I only use dil for it, and there hasn't even been a sale in months to allow me to do so.
I cannot "Awesome" the last two posts by @Navarch and @JeanLucKirk enough. Well said, and I couldn't agree more on the new "collecting" goal of the game, and the puzzling direction of development.

My top 3 would be
(1) Not getting a part 2 or 3 conclusion in a Voyage Dilemmas once completing the part 1 in a voyage say over 20 hours (just why not)
(2) Honour Hall Crew being 'not that glam'. They cost a fortune and a mini fortune to then fully cite. Give them something No. 1 about them each time. ie Borg Queen 7 is the 3rd best Command /Eng, why not have her introduced as the No. 1. Instead I have Braxton ahead of her plus have him duped and then the 2nd place command Eng ahead of her ( this put me off her for now so finished off 5 other crew for the same outlay)
(3) Gauntlet loot boxes they need tweaking. I actually like Gauntlet and play it daily, however if you finish number one, seeing only 1 person can, why not let the winner get a sentient being in the rewards. It takes time, effort, dill sometimes and mostly always merits to finish number one, but the reward is not one of the characters . This wouldn't be so bad but when you've bothered to out do another fleets opposition, by beating them into 2nd place (for bragging rights on Discord with Screenshots 😊) and ran up a streak of over 50 let's say, but only to win Trainers, then finding a Fleet mate having a belly laugh because they finished way out of the top 10, say 75th with a streak of 3 only to snag a Balok or Red Angel, this feels like a massive kick in the..... Teeth 😁 😂
1) Crew slot limit is killing all incentive to pay for the game or even play the game!
- When looking at a Time Portal, my thought now is "You already are at crew slot limit. If you get a new Legendary, you have to kill someone!" So getting crew is now actually a bad feeling. That's why I won't pay for a time portal anymore.
- Same thing regarding events participation: The new crew from events is not really any big change to the current crew, which means that the collection factor would be the ONLY thing left. But the crew slot limit destroys this point. "If you get the new crew, you have to kill someone!" No effective collecting possible.
-> In best case one could formulate it as "If you get the crew, you have to pay a second time for the slot." So, it feels like if you play successfully or pay for the game, the game punishes you for it. I don't like to feel like being punished. So, I won't pay anything. Solution: Raise the crew slot limit to current number of crew in the game + 100. Update this every year. Reasoning: This limit is high enough so that the player can effectively collect all cards (and pay for it); but it also makes sure that the player will cleanup duplicates so that the size of the data set remains in the same magnitude.
2) Inventory limit. Every day I have to delete items from the inventory, that I still could need later on, so that the game does not random-delete even more valuable items. (I don't have any one-character-item for maxed out characters, if someone wonders. I only keep items that actually are still needed or are used for several characters. -> E.g. no sense in deleting Pattern Enhancers.)
It is unbelievably annoying. Therefore, the game many times feels like a chore/imposition and not like fun. Solution: Raise inventory limit to 2000.
3) There is no new gameplay feature for years now (Skirmish was last addition*) and the existing gameplay range is pretty small and repetitive. There are only three event types still being done and each of them is "do a handful of clicks, now repeat 4000 times" (note: for shuttle events, it's at least not 4000 times, but only 150 times).
* Crew Retrieval is no gameplay feature - and it is only good for one 1-minute-use a month; and let's not even speak about data security disaster ad wall.
Maybe nitpicking here...
• push notices are up to 30 hours behind the actual event they should be notifying you about. Sometimes no push notices at all – especially during events
• Achievements and VIP levels sorrily behind where the game is
• Gauntlet
I would have probably written "the gauntlet" too, but I've decided to only enter it once every few days to farm merits, which makes it a lot less annoying. So:
1) The in-game chat.
2) The invite tool.
3) Probably still the gauntlet. So many bad memories from the last 5 years
1) The game freeze after claiming a message. Arena rewards. Every day.
2) Ad overlay after claiming a shuttle mission.
3) Returning to main screen after finishing a cadet mission. Was promised to be fixed at the next update.
There are more annoying things, but they don't happen that often.
I don't sort things like "new event type" or "gauntlet" into "annoying". These are much bigger than annoying. It's the core of the game and TP/WRG should work on it on primary.
The "crew slot" or "inventory cap" topic is a part of the game for me, I think it's making the game more interesting. It would be too easy imo if there were infinite crew slots or inventory space.
After spending some time thinking about it, I think it really all sums up into just one major annoying thing that exists in the game right now:
WRG seems to be almost entirely focused on revenues from new/intermediate players who are trying to "catch up" with the vets.
I say this because nearly every grievance or issue brought up by veteran players really only affects people who have been playing a long time, and those gamers constitute the minority of the people playing this game. And those grievances are seemingly never going to be addressed.
But, WRG relies upon the vets for fleet leadership, game tool development, and even communication platforms to educate the newbies on the intricacies of this game.
If anything, I am most annoyed by the fact that my own monetary contributions, as well as the time I spent teaching people to play this game, were really just a misplaced sense of community and belonging. WRG profits handily upon the donated efforts that veterans provide.
And they cant even be bothered to provide a new episode/distress call, cant be bothered to fix the voyage bug, cant be bothered to update the achievements. No appreciation or gratitude, or even humility toward the gigantic contributions that the players have made to this game.
1) The gauntlet rewards, It is absolutely brutal to get the feature legendary, it is swingy, some people getting 3 in one event, other times, going months without even when finishing top 5 over and over. The odds are too low/first place should have a guaranteed crew. It becomes an incredibly frustrating grind when you push and push and get no crew.
2) Galaxy events have become insane time sinks as chrons have become more plentiful. We need 10X building of components, mass turn ins, etc. Resources are the primary limiting factor, why make people waste hours and hours. Macros wouldn't be an issue if the game was actually reasonable to do
3) Crew space: This game has transformed into a card collecting game significantly. With collections we need to hold on to all those 1/5 crew. We need significantly more roster space.
I'll add one that is way too annoying: If you, by mistake, open or send a shuttle mission, there is no way to fix that. One click and you have a pending notificacion for 12 hours, or crew unavailable for 3, unless you pay to speed up. There should be a dismiss (for not started) or cancel (with no rewards) for unwanted missions.

Have you messed up the start of the event?
Not today (I think it happened in the past, and lost a couple of hours), but I did open a mission, that will stay there for 12 hours
Regardless of events, is annoying. Sometimes I open one after I sent all 4, sometimes I open one of the wrong faction, and there is no way to clear that (other than completing the mission)
For me is the most annoying thing ingame:
- wrong chance to drop an item, if you do a mission / battle
- The missing preselection "best ship" for voyages, like best Crew for shuttles
- random? Crew placement for skirmish

• push notices are up to 30 hours behind the actual event they should be notifying you about. Sometimes no push notices at all – especially during events
• Achievements and VIP levels sorrily behind where the game is
• Gauntlet
2) The interface is jank, slow, and laggy.
3) The interface is jank, slow, and laggy.
If I could add a fourth:
4) Expedition events are like a mythological beings. I can't even remember if they ever existed or if I just hallucinated them. Bring them back.

Have you messed up the start of the event?
Regardless of events, is annoying. Sometimes I open one after I sent all 4, sometimes I open one of the wrong faction, and there is no way to clear that (other than completing the mission)
