We have re-released steam and Facebook/Webgl clients this morning to address a display issue that prevented some players from seeing/searching for crew they had immortalized. This issue should be resolved. We thank you for your patience.
The offers moving the menu up is really jarring, and also makes the position of the menu items move depending on how many offers are currently active, so you always have to think before tapping. Can I suggest putting all offers into the time portal, and have the menu replace/cover the "in game" offers when it's displayed?
Or, don't put the offers in the time portal, but let the menu cover the offers anyway. You can still easily reach them by not opening the menu.
We have just released the 8.2.0 update on Windows and Google Play.
Downloaded it on Google Play on the tablet. First time I opened game it froze on the first screen that has all the company logos. Next couple tries, it crashed before finishing loading. Once it did load, has been fine ever since. SO, if you run into trouble at first, try again.
"The truth is like a lion; you don't have to defend it. Let it loose; it will defend itself."
The 8.2 update is mostly good, except... It is worse.
The interface is worse, as usual, but either my internet connection got extremely good or some performance issues got addressed. Which is WOW. The performance was getting ridiculous.
Ok, voyages on the start screen is marginally useful, but it was 1 click away and the benefit of that is totally put off my the last updates moving stuff away and tucking necessary stuff away with unnecessary one.
One click access to crew? Gone. Why? Tucked away in bs "Manifest". How much do you use the Crew button - my guess "a lot", other stuff? once a every blue moon.
One click access to Time Portal? Gone. Why? Grouped with Celestial Market (I had to look up the name I use it so often).
Faction trading center? Why? Just remove the animation when going from one faction to another. Done.
The stupid offer timers in the middle of the screen .... blah

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that the extra load times are due to the game client updating to a newer version. It looks like the screen is frozen, but it's NOT, it's downloading. This happens to me every time a new game client is released, as well as things like battling a new type of ship in ship battles. I wait, and it completes. I can't speak to the game crashes that you experienced.
Put me down with the rest wondering why arena and cadet missions were separated. Makes zero sense to me.
Also, the timer sitting out there comes off as desperate and looks awful.
Otherwise, I'll get used to the other changes.
Collection info on stat pages is nice.
I guess they don’t want me to do purchases anymore since they created a pop up menu to get to the portal. Get factions out of the purchase button, only a fool spends dilithium there with those insane prices and bring back my individual celestial market button.
Okay, so is this the unofficial feedback thread for the new update?
I don't like it.
All this junk at the beginning makes it so I have to scroll to collect my dailies. That's annoying. On top of that, it's now harder to change between daily rewards, dailies and campaign. That's annoying.
But what I find the most annoying of all is that everything else has been grouped together for more clicking, but one feature that still has a single click with a large icon is the biggest feature that has been abandoned completely. The galaxy map.
I have finished the levels, you haven't added any in years. The very reason I enjoyed playing so much in the beginning is the very feature you have ignored if favor of new ways to sell packs/LTOs/resources. Give us game play please, or tuck this unwanted game feature into a hidden drop menu like everything else.
Lots of changes, nothing great, and no added gameplay. Add game play, or I won't play the game.
I agree the daily missions layout is not good, I don't like to scroll either and that's harder to switch.
I also would like to switch arena with cadet challenges. I only do arena once each day but I enter cadet challenges at least 8 times a day.
Though, I don't want more game play, there is enough game play. Improve the current ones.
The cadete challenges are so well hidden that I forgot about it all day long ... good job ... but hey at least the promo's are visible now ....
Yep, that’s what feels like the main impetus for this. To push the sales more by giving them a more intrusive location and giving them extra space by hiding cadets. They knew we wouldn’t like it. We told them we hate putting things we use multiple times a day in pop up menus. But they didn’t care.
Though, I don't want more game play, there is enough game play. Improve the current ones.
I don't want new features for newer types of gameplay. I just want more episodes and distress calls to do. Or at the VERY LEAST an increased difficulty level for the existing levels. Give me something to do with my crew, make the nodes on the newer difficulty level on all existing episodes really require depth and strength. I have stopped competing on weekend events because I have nothing to do with those new crew, it's not often one comes along that can fill a gap others aren't already filling.
Events should be in addition to the game, not the only new content in the game. It's not an event if it's the only thing to do half of the week with the other half being dailies and out.
I think I might be ready to leave the game. I am holding out hope that these achievement events mid week will add some purpose to my gaming experience, because I am a skirmish or two away from hitting Captain Lvl 99 and collections aren't motivating enough to keep going.

But new episodes/distress calls get completed in one day and then we're back to where we are now. Adding a 4th difficulty level would take a little more time, but would still be a one time fix not a long term solution. New gameplay gives you something new to do every day. If you think the game is stale now, think what it would be like without voyages and gauntlet. Those are at least things you do every couple hours in the game. That's what people mean by new features. Something new to do with their crew. A reason to work on different crew than they are currently prioritizing.
I am all for a new feature that gives me something to do, but I was just replying to a comment to specify that my complaint was about the existing and abandoned feature. I guess what I would expect is for a continuing expansion of episodes and distress calls. Not a one time drop one time play. This should be ingoing and semi regular. They make loads of new crew each week to buy, how about new stuff to play.
I like the reduced clicking aspect of the Cadet Challenge, once you start it. Not so fond of not seeing how many Tokens are left until you click to do a Mission and the "Buy More Tokens" dialog Pop Up pops up. Just feedback.
"The truth is like a lion; you don't have to defend it. Let it loose; it will defend itself."
The removal of the seperate Cadet Challenges button is by far the worst you have ever done, regarding re-arranging UI. WHY? Just Why.
I dislike the new arrangement of Dailies button(and moving personal achievements to the avatar) as well.
Offer indicators just above purchases button is odd as well. Why not just move them to the right(former left side) side of the screen? Or just put the voyages button on the upper right, instead of left( thx @Navarch ).
I like that you now see how completed all dailies(fleet wise), but that‘s it.
Overall this UI update made things worse and less User friendly. 😕
Why are you doing/change things that’s been there for years(forever)
and ppl never asked about to change it at all?
Sure you left a big enough gap after reducing the columns
This really bothers me too. There's so much wasted space in the updated designs. For example, the re-designed screen for completing a mission, especially when you have a supply kit active. Rather than using all the available vertical space, the screen was instead split horizontally so you have to scroll for miles to actually see what dropped.
I'd also like to echo what others have said in this thread about access to common menus. It's INCREDIBLY frustrating to have to click so many times to get into the places I use multiple times a day. I really like Darxide's comment about UI should make it easy to get to common activities, not more difficult.
Sure you left a big enough gap after reducing the columns
I think this might be because of different devices. Ever since I upgraded my phone it looked like this:
The 5th column was cut off and if you wanted an item from that column it was hard to click.
Now it looks like this:
Fits much better and makes things a lot easier.
That was my guess about a bunch of these changes. What looks like extra space on one device may be just enough on a different device. And WRG had to design for the smallest device with extra blank space being added for larger devices.

I'm already playing this game for around two hours in total each day. So no, I don't need extra gameplay to do stuff.

Either way - its still a screen / device emulation glitch. The sfreen prior to this has not been "updated" and still displays in the old style, while the new screen does not emlate on all devices the same way - either due to poor coding or incorrect emulator / resolution settings when designing the UI or a mix of both.

You can dynamically size the screen based on the device. In the past my smaller screen phone used 4 columns while my wider screen tablet used 5. More than likely it's just another in a long line of terrible code writing.
Concerns I have with 8.2:
1 - My current voyage is sitting at 8 hours and hasn't given me a 4*.
2 - Even if it did give me a 4*, it wouldn't give me a 4* Behold Cookie which I'm sure everyone would prefer.
3 - I got a 4* Incense instead of Balok in the gauntlet.
4 - Quit flashing offers of 5*'s I already have immortalized. Yes, I know Avery Brooks looks good in a tux. Its why I immortalized him (and the monstrous SEC base too I guess).
5 - Also quit flashing offers of any type. I'm poor and only buy campaigns.
6 - Switch Nyota Uhura to Tribbled Uhura in the campaign and I'll buy it. I'll settle for Lt Commander or Rescue instead.
7 - I recently finished Lower Decks S2 and have seen all the crew naked. If you aren't going to make an Au Natural collection at least give all naked crew the Primal trait and add them to that collection. This seems somewhat appropriate.
8 - There might be a legitimate concern buried in this list somewhere.

1 & 2- Or it could drop a purple citation. That would be popular and they give everyone one a month, so a couple extra here and there wouldn't hurt. I frequently have Voyages that top 10hrs and don't drop a 3*.
3- Ouch
4 & 5- The incessant offers are a pain, especially when you are repeatedly being bounced out and are rushing to get back in. I get tired of seeing them 10x an hour.
6- I'm fine with that Uhura, since I don't have her at all, but there are better ones. Lt. Commander was the Campaign in February.
7- I'm looking forward to LD crew. How they appear will be interesting, but some of the ships could be an easy task.

... putting the Cadet Challenges in a sub menu.
But I like the Voyage button on the main screen and the Gauntlet 4x speed

Agreed. So frustrating and pointless. What did removing the cadet button from screens help?
