The Starfleet trait on Prophet Kira highlights how absolutely embarrassing the lack of QA has become. I appreciate that the people who work on this game haven't seen every single episode of every single series, but I'd like to think someone has watched some episodes. Most weeks, I watch the episode that inspired whatever new characters are being added to the game - is it unreasonable to expect that the company might pay one of their employees to spend 45 minutes doing the same?
Kira not being part of Starfleet is integral to the character from her introduction, let alone the fact that her bio on Memory Alpha starts with "Kira Nerys was a major, later colonel, in the Bajoran Militia". The fact that the art for this version clearly features her wearing a non-Starfleet uniform is just the cherry on top.
In 2 weeks, the event will feature an new 5* Luke Skywalker......
Will he come with a red lightsaber?
Yes, it ties in with his 'Klingon" trait.....

How could a company's revised, revamped, rigorous trait QA system miss this?
Easy, they don't have one

I was thinking more about Kira last night as we discussed her on stream. This card is sort of a head scratcher and makes me wonder about WRG's process for crew.
Prophet Kira and Pah-wraith Jake Sisko have been requested cards since before I started playing. It's an iconic image and moment from the show. I think the art turned out pretty well. I haven't heard anyone fuss about it - this is from the moment where she stands in the temple door and waits for the Pah-wraith to choose their champion. The glow/lightning effect is nice and leaves the door open for the orange/blue laser beam art in the future should they so choose (fusion crew?).
The stats are good. Usable in multiple areas with power oriented toward proficiencies so that she can be an option in the gauntlet. On point thematic parallels between their duel in the show and the PvP system in game.
I love the flavor text. It conveys emotion and the grandiose nature of the episode (can't get higher stakes than calling an episode 'The Reckoning'). Hell, even the arena ability "I'll try not to disappoint you." is from her conversation with Odo about faith and she pays it off by being a willing sacrifice on faith. It jives with the flavor, they both tie into the episode well.
Aside from minor quibbles about skill set (SCI for inhabitation/energy dueling), this is a near flawless card imho except for traits. But in this case it's not just missing a niche trait or something, it's two pretty obviously wrong traits (Obvious to us nerds ) and a whole slew of traits that they could have/should have added to spice things up. Duelist and Prophet are a must. Brutal, Desperate, Cultural Figure could all fit too.
Four of those are both voyage AM and gauntlet crit traits and could have elevated this to a really special crew. Considering how infrequently we get gauntlet capable cards, that decision couldn't have been a coincidence. So much care went into making this crew right and special, why was the ball dropped on traits? They're the engine of this 'collecting game' now and influence every area of the game. I hope they get given more consideration in the future. WRG did a very good job putting this crew together in all other facets. If the traits are nailed, this becomes a 'Best of 2021' highlight type of crew.
The announcement doesn't mention variants of Scotty having a small bonus, since Claymore Scotty is event crew proper. Can we get a yay or nay on them?
It is showing in the Event Help Tab. Must have gotten missed in the announcement. I am not judging. Just observing. I drop words from stuff I type all the time ,and have to go back and fix it.
NOTE: I literally dropped the words "drop words" from my post, but caught it proofreading!
Ah, but you actually did proofreading!!!
Mainly because I have fat fingers and typo at 100 words a minute!
But, they really need someone to check stuff before they send it to Shan to post.
I am the one who writes, proofread and post. And yes, I got distracted and missed Scotty as a variant, this has now been corrected.

So, I am wondering how you are all coming up with this Kira has "Good" stats, when we have had quite a few purples come close to these stats lately? (I am talking about base skill stats, not proficiencies.)
I saw her base stats in the events rewards, and thought she WAS a purple for a minute. I guess this is based on the stealth nerf last week, they are playing it safe now? I really wanted this Kira until I saw that she wouldn't be useful to me...probably ever, as by the time I leveled her to 5/5 in a year she would be obsolete.
I hate galaxy events anyway, but I was ready to dump all my chrons for this card, until I saw the stats.
Leaving Gauntlet out of this equation, Change my mind...?

Convince you a character's good, while ignoring the major focus of that character? I'll pass. If gauntlet is meaningless to you, that's fine. Don't bother with this crew. But you're completely dismissing the proficiencies, and it's the combined scores that make her genuinely useful for voyages (#10 for her skillset, #35 overall). She'd be a lot better at both gauntlet and voyages if she had a decent selection of traits, but we know by now, WRG don't want us to have nice things. Even so, her numbers alone make her genuinely competitive. If you can't see that, I really wonder what your priorities are.
Plus, this Kira *should* be Gauntlet heavy, so we ought to expect that. That was the whole point of this version of her. The Prophets and Pah-Wraiths were basically settling their Armageddon by using corporeals in a cockfight. Kira Nerys, we choose you.
We need a similar Jake, A reluctant archaeologist Dax (One of my favorite recurring bits in the ep), saboteur Winn, and maybe the Ranjen from the dig.

I'll break it down here, but saying leave one of the best parts of a card out of the equation doesn't make a lot of sense. "Voyages aside, why do people think Braxton is any good?" Shoehorning this kind of card into a shuttle role only would be like using a hammer to tighten a lugnut.
Kira is also clearly superior to the best super rare crew by base alone. Looking at event shuttle success rates, she owns a ~94% success rate with her primary and ~92.5% success rate with her secondary.
Looking at the top three CMD and top three SEC options for super rares
They average 90.46% for their primary and 69.85% for their secondary
and for SEC crew, 91.56% for their primary and 71.29% for their secondary
Part of her strength as a card is her event availability. Her pure event tally is in the top 25% (including traits), but the Kira character alone has at least four events in five of six calendar years. Factor in the commonality of her shuttle skills in events:
and we've (big book) rated her just inside the top 100 for event golds, even considering bases are indeed her weak point.
On voyages she's the #10 CMD/DIP/SEC voyager (87th percentile) and inside the top 40 by overall score (#31, #39 unboosted). She's the #1 CMD/SEC option for Bajoran and Maverick seats and would be for Duelist, if they add her missing traits. That's obviously more than serviceable, even in the worst skill set in the game and the power affords her years of service;
Another of her strengths is the gauntlet. She's in the top 20 in proficiency, sandwiched between Away Team Burnham and Admiral Riker. In fact, when you consider the size of her proficiency rolls, she performs better on shuttles than her gauntlet contemporaries;
She's a second/third level gauntlet crew with five unique gauntlets in the top ten for total proficiency (accounting for crit) and five unique gauntlets with multiple top five proficiency pairs
Considering we just had a similar gauntlet crew in Lara debut 294 voyage ranks lower and with 553 fewer combined base points (with max boosts), that's quite a difference. For daily shuttles, no she's not strong and it's fair to pass on any crew who doesn't excel in the areas you care about. As a total package, Kira is an objectively "good" crew and it's reasonable for players to label her as such.

Dude, you sound like the perfect addition for my podcast...
I think the big question is what will happen with her traits. Feels like we are up in the air on that so hard to know how hard to go to get her or whether I should buy packs.

Can we have clarification on the order of Kira's skills? The Description tab shows cmd primary, dip secondary, and sec tertiary. However if you look on the Full Stats tab, they're reordered to sec/cmd/dip. Which is correct?

Both are correct. At level one, the stats in the Description tab are correct. At level 100, the stats in the Full Stats tab are correct. There are many crew that swap skill order between level 1 and level 100 like Captain La Forge or Vice Admiral Janeway.
Am I the only one that is amused by Scotty's disdain for golf? Golf originated in Scotland. St. Andrew's is a world-class golf course and one of the top grasses used for putting greens is Highland Bent.

Just looked at who will be providing boosts for this event (Im long past having to unthaw 4*s but I check anyway).
Who is J O'brien?
Somebody mentions being unable to buy the legendary track in the campaign - Shan replies within minutes.
Somebody asks about the Event bonus cards - nothing.
I'd guess having a day off has that effect.
Who had a day off? Shan? She posted in the teaser thread to say comments had been removed. And even if she did have a day off, is she the only employee? If I have a day off from my job, someone fills in for me. Because I work in a 24/7 operation and cannot physically be there all the time. If this is how a global game business is structured, that is very worrying.
We had our annual Thanksgiving Day celebration Thursday and some businesses are closed or limited on Friday. Major retailers have major sales on Friday to kick off the Christmas shopping season, but most small businesses have theirs today. That should be our last holiday before Christmas.

Speaking of traits, why does Tee Time Doctor have the "Human" trait?
They used to be inconsistent, but part of the big trait audit early in the year was adding a racial trait to holograms based on their appearance. The only holograms of humans who don't currently have the human trait (afaik) are Beowulf EMH and Little Boy Blue Wesley who debuted with it and then had it (mistakenly) removed when they added Prodigy and Explorer.

At least in the US. There’s probably 1-2 people working at most times for emergencies and customer support is largely outsourced, so they have coverage there too.
I didn't intend this to turn into a critique of TPs working practices or business model. Nor was I suggesting Shan should be on hand 24/7. But the event is eight hours from end and we still haven't discovered who 'J. O'BRIEN ' is.

I honestly didn't think this was a serious question, it is a typo, it is supposed to say Miles O'Brien so as to differentiate from Molly O'Brien.
