2) It runs for 48 hours, a multiple of 24 for hours, that is good.
3) You have included "prerequisites" in the announcement, that is excellent.
Thankyou Shan.
The goal is to have them announced in the event hub, which will have all the information that you will need.
* - that should be treated as rank speculation on my part. I'm definitely not in the know.
My rank speculation is that its an existing super-rare. The second objective is to "fuse 3 times", which implies a total of 4 stars.
It could be a four stars on a legendary, but I very much doubt that.
I hope it's a new SR crew. I don't want to have to fuse and level an existing crew. I currently don't even have a crew to fuse. So if we're not being awarded a crew I'll have to go buy credit packs just to dupe a 2* to fuse.
BEFORE i immortalized my Ancient Human today.
I really don t understand why it is necessary to squeeze in another Objective Event, on such short notice and duration, while another is already up and running?
At least they are only Ship Battles and Away Missions, and not time based ones like the last beta with Gauntlet and Shuttles.
I am glad they have done this….something else to do. Many people have been complaining about the lack activity and having weekly Objective Events (if that is what they are planning) goes some way to address this.
Yeah, so thrilling. 😴
People have mainly asked to give their plenty unused crew in their roster something additional to do(like new events that are in need of crew and so on). Having „127“ Objectives Events running at the same time, adds zero to it.
Now if you had objective events requiring the use of variants for success, that might help. Think shuttles of Picards, Rikers, Janeways, or Datas.
Or a specific series, trait, or rarity. Imagine them limited to a certain class, like the cadets. That could make for interesting strategy.
And then needing to level a 1* or 2/2 dupe just for the immortalization objective.
I appreciate the breakdown of how the different things are locked/concurrent. Clearly feedback was more than taken to heart. Thank you!
Never mind.........
Immortalize done when Voyage gets back in about an hour and a half or so.
ETA The rewards are so lame I take back my comment. Really not worth the hassle.
The announcement for this came out 4 hours, 51 minutes after the event. The airlock timer is 4 hours. If someone were the suspicious sort, they might say that it was done on purpose to force players to open packs to have crew to fuse instead of using the ranked reward super rare. But the smart money is on that just not being thought through ahead of time.
Each of the mini/objective events have taken a step back each time imo. Obviously no one should be expecting 6,000 dil like the prototype run, but whatever hype OEs had ahead of time are dead for me personally. Great rewards requiring planning and an engaging effort beats bad rewards for token tasks every time.
Pros:
- Situationally free stuff
- A mix of locked/not locked objective structure to appeal to everyone.
- Low participation still situationally rewarded. Two minutes of effort that might only get you 10k VP in an event has thus far provided better rewards. Allows players to dip their toes in and feel rewarded without risk of burnout by competing everything every time.
Cons:
- Minimal theme/flavor effort
- Doesn't address players using more of their crew roster (Using the Discovery ship was nice)
- Risk/reward is out of whack. We should be mulling spending extra resources (boosts/dil/chrons) to get great rewards, not skipping objectives because the rewards are worth less than what it takes to get them.
- Overlapping events. This doesn't bother me because they require so little engagement, but I've seen mostly negative feedback about it so far. If you need to address this stuff ASAP because of packed Holiday scheduling, say that to the players. We also have families and most of us will understand.
It's IMO backwards to design an event around players doing tasks that are counter to the game's core objectives. Like building an objective around running shuttles that makes it a good thing for players to have tanked their shuttles, which seems equally backwards as the game's objective should be to run successful shuttles.
I'm now left with the choice of creating a dupe - something I have never wanted to do - or missing out on 10 trainers, 10 replicator rations and 300 chronitons.
ETA. And also miss out on a supply kit
+1 on these two things
1. Don't get caught up on fusing the same card. I managed to complete the crew fusion requirement by purchasing 10x Basic Rewards packs until I had two copies of three different 2* crew. All you need to do fuse ANY cards, it does not need to be the same card three times.
2. Don't worry about leveling crew either. All I did was level all three of my 2* fused cards to level 10, gave them their 1-10 equipment, leveled them to 20, gave them their 11-20 equipment, leveled them to 30, and then shoved them out the airlock. To get to 90 I just leveled a fourth 2* card from 1-10, easy.
3. The immortalizing one is tricky, there is no getting around it. On my main I threw a 5* citation I had in reserve at a fully leveled 4/5 card (Undercover Sulu) that allowed me make progress on a Collection. On my alt I used a 4* citation from the last campaign to immortalize the 3/4 Clown I had been hoping to finish from voyages. If neither of those options are in play for you, the dupe route is pretty easy, just dupe a 1* card from a Basic Rewards pack. Another option is to spend 18,000 Honor buying a 4* citation to finish a 3/4 SR from a past event. There are options, and they all have a cost associated, so be careful.
My biggest issue with it is with the fusing/immortalization requirements. These aren't completely unreasonable, but the timing on this is quite frustrating. From what I can see, the announcement for this event came out at 5pm EST yesterday. I could easily have used the 4/4 Archer I had won in the event to complete these requirements...if I hadn't airlocked all of the copies at 12:01 and more than 4 hours hadn't elapsed. So now I'm left with spending credits to get 2 and 3 stars for easy fusing...except I'm out of credits because inconveniently I used them all up to immortalize Vice Admiral Janeway through crew retrieval yesterday morning. Obviously the latter is just unfortunate timing and no one's fault, but the former pretty much falls squarely on WRG's shoulders.
I understand there was an issue with the in-game announcement system, but in the future would like to see the announcements go up around noon (like other event announcements, I would add).
If I had started doing my dailies, especially the cadets, it would have caused problems. @HaBlack above appears to have had this problem.
The title does not read properly. "Prepare for Galaxy Event." The first objective was "Prepare for a Faction Event."
"Fuse 3 crew".
This is troublesome. It is not something we do every day.
It says "Fuse 3 crew." does this mean three separate crew, or can the same crew be fused 3 times, in that case it should say "Fuse crew 3 times."
I normally fuse crew as, and when I get them. I rarely leave unfused crew in my roster, the only exception is sometimes crew like the Duras cards.
I have a 3/4 coffee janeway, and a 1/4 Paris. With one of my 4* cites I could manage the three fuses, but I have to ask whether its worth it for the rewards.
You are probably right, For me Objective wasn't working because game remained acive in background from last night. But that is also a problem because of this:
So now we are obligated to quit the game forcibly on phone and restart it every day just to be sure that events and objectives are loaded to be visible.
For a game that has so many acive timers and dailies work fine, this is just plain stupid.
And this situation is why speculation/assumptions are bad...
Anyways, I'm really having a hard time understanding the point of this OE for the players. If they had thrown out a new crew, it could have given us all something. But as had been stated above, the rewards are lackluster at best (ex: I don't think stem bolts are even used in Supply events). And yeah, that fusing and immortalization have hit my credits harder than they should have (I'm fine them, it's just annoying; but I feel for the players who aren't as flush as I am). This could have been thought out a lot better.
