Some clarification: I was not told to say that leaving the game opened in the background can cause issues, and it is not the first time that I say it either.
It is however a fact that it can cause issues, that being said I will bring your points up.
Could you please clarify the clarification, Shan? If you were not told to speak of these issues why do you do it sometimes as you said? Personal experiences with them? And since you call them a fact also what would they be for example?
I talk from my experience with tickets and reports on these forums.
As an example leaving the game running in the background for long periods of time can result in your game client becoming out of sync with our servers.

Sometimes you actually have to keep the game running so you can still benefit from the left-over event shuttles in a hybrid event when the phase has already changed to galaxy or skirmish. If you restart the app post phase change, the transmissions won't give event points anymore even if you had accepted the transmissions before the phase change.
This is really a giant bug that they haven't thought about because they tend to close the game. It's not a feature and a reason they built for us to keep the game running. If running shuttles into phase 2 was a proper feature it would be fully supported after an app restart and not need players to keep the app running.

I think most of it is fine. I would like to see better rewards. WRG has pretty much eliminated premium pulls as rewards, especially after taking them away from event rewards table. I really liked the Disco Objective Event structure more than most of the others so far...
I think the "fuse 3 crew" is a bit extreme for the rewards you can obtain from it. It requires one or more open crew slots PLUS resources (lots of credits or dils) to make pulls until you get crew to fuse! That's a LOT of expended resources for some replicator rations, trainers and chrons. I can't imagine a F2P player being able to do that often or at all, unless they save for months to have those extra resources to spend.
The only "free" option I see for that is having the resources to climb up the event ladder from the previous week before the Objective event to obtain 3 crew to fuse and sit on them until you unlock the part of the objective event to use them.
Looks like the "Fuse 3 Crew" has made it into the next objective event as well, and that's the only thing I dun like, to be honest. Immortalizing a crew is easy for long time members (Ensign Kim, Ensign Ogawa) in two days, but fusing three crew members either costs up to 1500 honor (green citations) or you have to plan ahead quite a bit and wait with fuses just for the objective event (and having less purrformance from event crew in return a week before, maybe).
I wouldn't mind too much about fusing if green or even blue citations were given out as event ranked thresholds in the lower tiers or as reward thresholds for points (maybe a green at 20k and another green at 50k and then a blue at 100k and a second blue and a third green at 150k).
"Everything about the Jem'Hadar is lethal!" - Eris (ST-DS9 Episode 2x26 "The Jem'Hadar")
No free crew slots and yet another set of fuse/immortalize requirements in next week's OE. WRG really is trying to milk the crew retrieval cash cow, while deliberately trying to drain our honor ahead of the anticipated honor sale. So much for goodwill during the holiday season...

Why do they want us to dupe cards? It's ridiculous.
They don't. They want you to think for 30 seconds and come up with a better way of doing things. And maybe not spam the forums with the same complaint over and over.
I agree with the many statements above that are NOT excited about these Objective Events.
1. “Prepare for Galaxy”, no, more like Deplete before galaxy. It took more chrons and supplies to lvl, fuse and immortalize crew that could have gone towards galaxy.
2. The “prerequisite” requirement has alot to do with that. If the counters would at least start all at the same time i could see value. in a 48 hr period you have to complete 2 days of cadets before other counters start, that cost chrons to complete? Or spend di for more cadets day 1, for as stated above “lack luster rewards” this makes no sense.
3. Now we have to fuse a crew 3 times for each 48 hour OE??? I have seen the preview for OE 3.
4. The first one had too many shuttles and did not start timely or count properly. The second one takes more than it rewards, and the third is announced to be basically the same.
5. It is unreasonable to expect that all player levels can fuse (3 times!), level, immortalize a crew card and in the order of prerequisites. Normally a player uses battles and missions to level crew. Why must you level or fuse the crew first, before battles and missions start counting. This is backwords.
6. These events were originally stated to be easily attainable goals by everyone and had been indicated to go along with encouraging daily play.
It is not a requirement. Play it or dont. my fleet majority wont be taking part in these. 48 hours for a backwords, taking more than it gives, not (easily attainable) for ALL, OE is off our plate.
Smaller accounts without resources have to chose do this mid week OE or play the regularly scheduled event. Thats just not fair for all.
Personally i had no problem getting it done. But i have resources. All of my crew are fused the moment they can be. I had plenty of resources to pull merit packs until i got 3 different cards to fuse.
So really? how is this “preparing” for an event or contributing to daily participation, or easily obtainable goals for everyone. I disagree with the premise.
Make it easy for everyone, in proper order, with reasonable prerequisites that start counters but reward in order or without prerequisites.
and for a 48 hour timeframe, reasonably concluding people sleep and work, make it encouraging and coinciding with the daily participation as indicated then i will re-considder.
At this time it is a “zero” of a five star rating on this OE.
If these Objective midweek events are truly to prepare for the weekend's upcoming event and to include leveling, fusing and immortalizing crew, why not simply extend them through to the halfway point of that weekend's event? With the exception of rerun-type events, this should give the larger player base an opportunity to work with that event's threshold reward crew, unless you wish to narrow the objective event's target participants to primarily those who earned the previous event's ranked five star.

Well, most players that have been around a while probably have the 1* Crew done. Which means that Immortalizing a 1* is duping a card.

I guess, since you joined in 2019, you might not remember just how busy these forums used to be. This forum is more or less dead compared to before then (because legacy players have left in their droves) - if you think I am spamming with my complaints then perhaps that's just a sign of how quiet they've become. You can of course just block me, its easy enough, and perhaps TP might see my comments and suggestions and act on them, or perhaps they won't. And maybe one day I'll be one of those who leave too - because its not really worth the energy, is it? Day one player suffering with extreme sunk cost fallacy, fwiw.
I agree with the comments about the fuse/immortalize objectives, if we aren't getting the resources for those that means we have to be doing a fair amount of planning and/or hoping. Especially if that will be something frequently recurring. Also, if the 3rd fuse we do for an objective also immortalizes a character...that should take care of both requirements...instead of since it was locked we have to find another immortalization in addition to the immortalization from the 3rd fuse... Especially if fusing/immortalizing will keep being part of the rotation (especially without providing a character to progress)
The locked objectives could be fun, but as currently executed is annoying. If the event is 48 hours, don't have it so that we'll need just over the first 24 to unlock things (such as locking via cadet missions).
On the other hand, if these events were say Monday to Thursday and introduced characters that we could get enough copies of through the event to get them to immortalized (and because the events seem to like 3 fuses, this would mean 4* and new so that players don't end up having to duplicate a character)...this would be a very different story...
It is already frustrating that not all events have community rewards which means that not every event can the character be immortalized...instead a lot of events leave players with character 3/4* that they'll have to wait till they can otherwise be acquired unless we buy packs. The rank ladders of events get pretty silly with how repetitive the events are. The auto and speed multiplier were great improvements for ship battles, but just give us an option to skip the battle and auto it...and this is before even getting into how repetitive the supply missions are (and the fun slot machine mech to get people wanting to keep going...how about an option to skip over the animations...? Or does that skip over too much of what gets people sticking around...?). The events seem like they are meant to be won by either people buying a ton of packs/dilithium and/or people running scripts/bots to grind away...
I've got a stash of 4* dups I've been looking for an excuse to level and freeze. this worked well for me. got one done this week and I'll do one next week,

@ChaosChild Wrong. I started a thread, then noticed it had been raised in here by Jhamel so I replied to their post. Check the time stamps.
It can take a while to load, often a few minutes. This evening it took seven minutes to load up on my phone. When I am at work, and pull my phone out of my pocket to do my shuttles or a dilemma, I don't have that time to waste. I am not supposed to be playing games in company time, but a few seconds now and again won't be noticed. If I have to wait minutes for it to load up every time during a faction event I won't be able to compete.

You can add me to the list of people not keen on the fuse/immortalise achievements. I'm only a small spender, but from the current purples in the pool I'm only missing 4 stars, so I'm going to have to game the system to do it.
This week I did it with:
1 fuse convenient timing of retrieval
1 fuse $10 Koloth
1 fuse pulling credit packs to match to my incoming voyage, but actually got a Desert Burnham just before I hit the 2nd one from the month-long event, then I immortalised (duplicate obviously) her for the other objective
I could have ended up having to randomly pull for all 3 fuses, alternatively I end up holding the purple crew from the weekend event for several days, fusing them, then airlocking them (unless they're new), and still having to waste resources/game the system with a 1 or 2 star.
Tasks should be positive ones we have agency over, not random ones we have to game.

I experience just the opposite. Strange.
In the US the custom is 15 minute breaks every 4 hours and a half hour lunch.
My quick thought:
I've finished all this objective event except for the Immortalize requirement. Other than duping a 1*, which would take resources this is supposed to help build, I could use a 4* cite. So that would essentially exchange a 4* cite for 300 chrons and 1 supply kit, plus some worthless-to-me trainers.
Not worth the cite, for me.
(At least now I can know to "hoard" crew to fuse and immortalize...)

Agreed. I had to go the route of buying basic packs with saved pulls until I got 3 2* dupes to fuse. But the immortalize achievement bothered me even more. The credit portal I would have done eventually for honor anyway. The immortalize meant I had to level a 1* crew for no purpose other than the objective event. My plan for this week it to keep the event 4* at level 99 during the event, then I can immortalize him in the objective event. But this seems backwards that I have to keep the event crew at level 99 just so I can immortalize him for a different lesser event.
I participated in the recent Objective event. The goal for 3 ea FUSE plus 1 ea Immortalize did not go as I expected. In my case, the 3rd fuse was also an 'immortalize' goal. I assumed that the first action is a Fuse and almost instantaneously the CREW will then become immoralized. Apparently the design is to require 3 FUSES plus 1 more FUSE to result in an immortalized CREW. Is this the intention?

Or add the last Item on a 100/FF Crew.
"The truth is like a lion; you don't have to defend it. Let it loose; it will defend itself."
I have to agree with the general sentiment about the fuse/inmortalize steps. In such a time frame (1 or 2 days) is just asking to keep duplicates or incomplete, almost inmortalized crew. It's not that is not perfectly doable with a little notice, it's just that it doesn't feel like a natural way to play the game: keep redundant crew that would be discarded, keep from inmortalizing crew just for objectives. It's just like tanking factions. It's meta game to work around the objectives. I don't like that.
Note that those kind of objectives would be fine in a week/month long event. That's just askings us to play, that's cool, encouraging players to play. The problem in 2 days or so is that a fairly "veteran" player won't have such crew to fuse and inmortalize right away (and a new one could have problems doing it so quickly)
I like the progression "tree" (objectives that can be done concuurrently, while others require previous steps, and if I recall correctly, it was clearly stablished what have to be done to unlock objectives)

The big problem was the lack of notice and information. Now that we know that we'll have advance notice for these events we can plan accordingly. Similarly, if we'd known that immortalising someone with your 3rd fuse didn't count for both objectives I'm sure you'd have planned things differently.
WRG really need to learn that not everything is as self-evident as they seem to think it is. Too much information on new features is always going to be better than not enough, and sometimes having to learn from our mistakes because of a lack of information is very costly.

I'm just going to buy the Premium Track when it starts. Should have all four Sahils available by then. Use three, make sure Immortalize Task is unlocked, use last copy.
Fudge. When did he get a second Star? Did I DYC him?!?!?
Well, then. Fuse Tilly for the Fuse Task, use however many copies of him I need to finish Fuse Task, then Finish him for Immortalized. Or hold the second Event copy of the other Sahil. That would work. I can hold that and the copies of Tilly, finish the Fuse Task, then the Immortalize Task.
But, the having to pretty much lock up my Crew Quarters, on top of the other stuff recently, is why they got a "Would Not Recommend Game to Friends" on my Survey.
