Hey, let's chat here. I'd love to hear some feedback from you, captains! Have a great weekend, get some fresh air, and play star trek timelines, obviously

There was also no opportunity to provide any sort of feedback related to concerns, frustrations, bugs, etc.. that are negatively impacting our enjoyment of the game, or where we would prioritize addressing long-standing issues compared to churning out new content that is redundant (ie: more of the same events and mid-week events) or useless (ie: crew that get frozen immediately upon immortalization due to crew slot limitations).
Yes, the survey should include places for that feedback to be provided. Or, instead of spending time analyzing survey data, they can simply spend time looking at feedback that has been provided already (in many existing forum threads)
As it is, the survey is not going to provide any meaningful data to wrg.
These "should" be easy with little to no cost (as some have supposedly been worked on for years now or are currently being implemented)
1. Fix voyage bug
2. Fix delay when retrieving arena rewards
3. Search avatar by name feature
4. Increase character limit on admiral message of the day
5. lock star base rooms for donations
6. lock fleet boss battles
7. Bring back expedition events
8. increase Capt. level beyond 99
9. Dilithium rewards for immortals beyond cap at 600
10. Fix cryo-vault count error
11. Add the 5 year and older 5*s to the voyage pool
12. Bring back 10 mission factions for events (I assume when TP took over you got more "bandwidth" - the reason we were given for reducing from 10 to 8)
These might take a little more but at least a good faith acknowledgement that they are being looked into seriously with regular updates would go a long way:
1. New event type(s)
2. New episodes on the galaxy map
3. Fix or replace the chat
4. Resource sharing among fleets
5. Ability for Admirals to demote squad leaders without booting them from the fleet
6. Create a shipyard (for fleet members to donate parts for schems/buff for ships)
7. New dilemmas for voyages with older crew members (see #11 above)
Try asking for feedback BEFORE releasing new features. Obviously, this can't be done for everything, but it should have been done in the case of fleet boss battles. A great deal of frustration, fleet disintegration and people leaving the game possibly could have been avoided if the player base had been asked about locking boss battles first. Ben said it was discussed and I'm sure it was. But they got it terribly wrong. We are closing in on March and not only do we not have a solution, but we also have another in a long line of delays going back 6 months.
Open and honest communication. This entire layoff and game continuing or not fiasco was poorly handled and created a great amount of consternation among some players. The trust level has been eroding and once gone it is difficult to win back.
I am very happy that the game appears to be continuing as I am sure most of players are. We care about this game. If we didn't care many of us would not get so frustrated at some of the past...well, let's be positive. You have a very loyal (to Star Trek) fan base, don't screw it up!
Had that same feeling but wasn't sure so didn't say it. Glad to see I have not completely lost my mind (yet)....
This survey will allow their team to say they got player input on upcoming mega events and campaigns, that players really like most of the features, and the status quo is good to go! Surveys are rather pointless when they aren't designed to actually gather any useful feedback. It's not like the issues identified (going by post-survey polls often done here on the forums) ever tend to get addressed anyway, but each time I hope this one will be different...

They don't want to "hear from you". They you to be placated.
A fourth event is key and should be the overwhelming priority please, but we also need the fleet boss battle updated as soon as possible.
From the Q&A with Ben and Joe:
With our new focus on QoL Matt (engineer god) was able to dedicate the time to look into the stuck voyage bug (dilemma). We released the potential voyage stuck at dilemma fix on Feb 14th and we can confidentially say now that we have reduced the occurrence of the bug by 80%. and as new old voyages are completed and new ones started, that percentage has increased.
So they mostly fixed, that's a start....
We really need facepalm Troi from Lower Decks.
Well, you obviously understand their "feedback" model......
This is the one I most want to see the results from!
How about, let’s see The Bluegill Queen / Mother Creature instead? 😊
1. Fix voyage bug – Mostly Fixed
2. Fix delay when retrieving arena rewards – On backlog
3. Search avatar by name feature – Possible with new QoL
4. Increase character limit on admiral message of the day – No plans
5. lock star base rooms for donations – No plans
6. lock fleet boss battles – delayed again (March or April)
7. Bring back expedition events – No plans right now, but was discussed
8. increase Capt. level beyond 99 – No plans
9. Dilithium rewards for immortals beyond cap at 600 – No plans
10. Fix cryo-vault count error – On backlog
11. Add the 5 year and older 5*s to the voyage pool – No plans
12. Bring back 10 mission factions for events – No plans
These might take a little more but at least a good faith acknowledgement that they are being looked into seriously with regular updates would go a long way:
1. New event type(s) – Looking into (different type, better rotation of existing types)
2. New episodes on the galaxy map – (looking into – different type to work with existing episodes)
3. Fix or replace the chat - Not going to happen ever (at least Ben was honest about it)
4. Resource sharing among fleets – No plans
5. Ability for Admirals to demote squad leaders without booting them from the fleet – No plans
6. Create a shipyard (for fleet members to donate parts for schems/buff for ships) – No plans
7. New voyage exclusive crew – Possible for future
Regarding the delay in release of 9.2 with boss battle lock:
Hi Nomad, we were in the preparatory steps to release 9.2.0 in January when we received the news of the re-organization. At that time we made the decision to push it until the dust settled. We appreciate your patience with us. We will begin the rollout process in March, and proceed with our multi-platform rollout once we build confidence in each subsequent platform—rolling back if necessary.
There was more discussed, but Ben's big news was the voyage bug is mostly fixed (aside of course from reassuring us the game is not in trouble and not going away anytime soon - which was the best news for me )
Joe said that fbb did not performed as expected, and has caused some bad player behaviors. Im wondering what they expected from fbb, and what these bad behaviors are.
Clearly they bet the farm on fbb and when it failed it led to where we are now, with less full time staff dedicated to the game. Even if there are more resources available, they will be spread thinner and cover multiple titles. Different code. Different players. Im worried this will lead to more oversights (like fbb) and more player dissatisfaction. Sure hope im wrong.
"Bad plyer behavior" = "It's never us, it's the players messing things up.'
I wonder if that "bad player behavior" includes bombarding players with fleet join requests and poaching attempts. I've seen players add things to their names to the effect of "I Don't Want To Join Your Fleet" for emphasis. I had been trying to find new players by going into the Suggested Players menu for awhile, but gave up once I started seeing those kinds of things. I didn't mean to annoy anyone, and I don't think any of the other admirals trying to recruit other players did, either. We're just desperate for fleet members.
There are bad incentives built into FBB (especially the oe). The feature was designed for fleets to work together to defeat bosses. To the extent that that's not what's happening that's a problem. But I don't read anything they said as "it's the players fault". It's more like, "there were unintended consequences we didn't think about, so we're trying to fix that"
If there is a general theme to STT problems over the years it's, the developers build features how they want them to be used and don't think about how players will actually use them. I would even put the faction kickstart and hoarding galaxy rares in this category. Sometimes they try to fix the issue and sometimes they let it go, but that's not saying the players are wrong, just that they're doing something the developers didn't expect.
I thought it might be this as well.
I also wonder if it had to do with all of the fleet re organization too.
With all the problems that we have communicating in our fleet, im just really surprised that it didnt come up when they were designing the fbb feature. I think this oversight has led to tremendous issues and i saw that ben said the chat will never be fixed or improved.
It was the quote “players are using boss battles in a way we didn’t intend”. That means the actual act of playing itself.
