I will give my Squadron permission to sit out this event.
This very statement is why I don’t join a fleet
I think you missed the point. This is my Squadron I am referring to here. My Fleet is a very laid back New Orleans group.. Squadron membership is based on events. Fleets are about general participation. The USS New Orleans only requires once every 3 days, but some of our Krewe only trice a week.

Join us in the Russian Fleet. We don’t do anything except have fun... you need to not log on for a month and not tell anyone before we boot you... and we get to make a lot of “I blame Russia” jokes...
So what's the plan? Boycott this week's event only, or until adequate compensation has been made? In light of DB's change in this regard, is the boycott still going ahead?
I appreciate what everyone is trying to do and having the support of some heavy hitters certainly helps but can't shake the feeling that the only one that will be hurt by me not playing this event will be me. Will DB honestly make less enough money than expected this weekend to take it seriously. Maybe if thousands or tens of thousands truly sit out, no pay and no play will it be enough.

I'd agree, with this addendum: those who are boycotting entirely are only hurting themselves. You can still play enough of it to get the community rewards and perhaps a few of the threshold rewards, without spending a dime.
Could you please continue the petty bickering? I find it most intriguing. ~ Data, ST:TNG "Haven"

I encourage everyone to boycott. Please, please, pretty please with sugar on top: boycott. The more who sit this out, the easier it will be for me to get a few rewards. 😊
OTOH it would be fun to flood the leaderboards with DB:DB tags and banner messages about changes we want to see, assuming it doesn't cost $ to get there. Though sitting out is a good option too, and give people a breather.
My response to Picardgate and ongoing underlying issues will be in the form of no more $ until 50k refund, and other captains are offered real comp for their missing Troi or Janeway fuse,
+ no more $ indefinitely until we see significant strides towards
- restoring art quality,
- Quality Assurance (and not spreading thin resulting in avoidable issues),
- thoughtful response to issues which reasonably sneak through the cracks,
- more listening and less placating unless it's sincere,
- far more equitable super-rare and legendary crew dismissal honour rates,
- and away from false advertising.
Not speaking for them at all, but I'm certain out of their 100-150 members, a handful still want to play or need to play and wouldn't be punished or looked at any differently for doing so.
Different people use different terminology. Some are saying "boycott" which is to not even earn 10VP and sit on the side. Others are playing for a few threshold rewards but not dumping in any effort. Others are still playing as it is a game and an escape from the real world, but they've closed their wallets.
Each person has their own objective, their own personal attachment to it. Let them express it however they please.

Nah, that’s weak. Especially considering the thread topic is Klingon Marauders are boycotting the event. Boycot means to not have any involvement at all. People can say whatever. It’s what they DO that really matters

I would agree if the OP would have said "MOST" and not "WE".
So, in fairness, your "let them express it however they please" has to be allowed for BOTH sides now, with DB allowed to express however they please too, which they did, and in doing such, started this whole thing in the first place.
I am boycotting but I'm not a real spender so DB could give a rat's petootie. Here what I am doing:
I am encouraging others to stop
I am sporting the DB:DB tag
I am buying a monthly card and giving DB 30 days to make changes. 30 days to make changes.
DB.
Fix the art. I call BS on the thread to fix the art. Hire an art department that doesn't need to crowdsource a clue. The art is crap and you know why. You are cheap. Buy better.
Communicate. If you can't engage the community you don't deserve it. I call BS on this boycott. It shouldn't be needed. Hire a consultant if this isn't sinking in. Your business is community engagement, the game is your product.
Own up. Forget chrons, honour, sleeveless captains, etc. Send an apology. Show us that you understand why the mirror event was a massive let down from start to finish and even after. Tell us what you plan to do and ask for feedback. Incorporate that feedback into your response. Respond.
Make the game fun.
Thank you to all those who are boycotting and to all those that aren't but offer their support. I hope to see you in 31 days.

The thread title was a lie, plain and simple
Totally agree. Was it just trying to sound tough? Was it the Grand Poobah doesn’t have quite the power he thought to control his people? Either way this was a lame thread to create
I have been somewhat conflicted about this boycott. DB did do right by me in the end after I sent in a ticket. I was satisfied by the resolution. Like a few others here have stated, I feel that sitting the event out may have no other effect that hurting me. I agree that DB needs to do much better. Many serious errors have been made that need to be rectified. I do wish to stand in support of all who have been negatively affected and I call on DB to do better. Here is what the "boycott" will mean to me.
I will not be spending dollars this weekend unless DB issues a true apology and makes things right for those who have been negatively affected.
I will be wearing the DB Do Better tag.
DB please listen to your player base and let us get back to enjoying a game that we can love and be proud of.
My "boycott", for myself and not my fleet, means that I'm not buying the 2/5 or 1/5 deal I usually buy. Which is a bit of a drag because I really want Dukat... even hokey Pah-Wraith Dukat. I'm playing for a few low threshold items. That's it.
For me... that's big considering [TFA] has become one of the top fleets in Galaxy events finishing 5th for Honey Bare and 1st for Mirror Duchovny.
At the time of this post, there are ZERO squads with the KM tag in the Top 50. I can remember events where nine of 10 top squads came from KM. You can debate semantics. But, their lack of participation is evident, admirable, and appreciated by many players who have been here for more than a hot minute.
I’ve been here more than a hot minute and I still think it’s lame. This thread and quite frankly the idea of a boycott. I love it when people threaten to not re-up their monthly card. Yeah that $4 a month is really gonna scare them.

I thought Enterprise was lame.
But, my views on Enterprise doesn’t make your opinion any less valid. You think what they’re doing is lame. I think it’s admirable. I'm fine with agreeing to disagree.
Edit: I apologize if the "hot minute" thing came off as tongue and cheek. It wasn't my intention.

Some of us feel we have power. Ads, monthly card, packs, walking away... You have no power in changing that feeling. Not sure what your goal is here but you're always welcome to join us.
Usually there is at least one member of there's in the top 10. Which means pack buying, chroniton buying, voyage extending and so on. I know on my side people can use some stars for dukat but won't buy the packs or extras to do it so its how they are boycotting. I think by them not dumping their entertainment money will show a point but I can't speak for everyone; just know that at least one persons salary at DB is partially paid by their fleets dedication.
Also, in some ways DB is making it right by helping out people via tickets. Hopefully this further shows that extra care can go a long way for us in the future.

I would imagine this to be in part due to the large gap between galaxy events and people were able to save up a lot of chrons.

Maybe if Enough of us do this, DB will listen.
