I’ve been here more than a hot minute and I still think it’s lame. This thread and quite frankly the idea of a boycott. I love it when people threaten to not re-up their monthly card. Yeah that $4 a month is really gonna scare them.
If 1000 people stop paying their $4 a month they would start to notice it pretty quickly.
Again, not trying to split hairs here, nor am I trying to speak for them, but we are really still trying to fight each-other which isn't totally productive.
No where, in the OP post, does it say that all of KM are sitting out, not playing and will have 0 VP come Monday. In fact, it doesn't lay out any specifics at all. It just states clearly that due to the outage that impacted final placement, rewards, and the subsequent denial of CS to affirm those standings and rewards, in addition to the free Picard, they are 'boycotting'.
Again, boycott can mean many different things to many people. Rowden doesn't control 100+ people's lives and tell them what to do - it's all voluntary. And the score you saw was one single player clearing thresholds and quitting (math works out at least). So again, you're going on the offensive over 1 out of 100 players of the #1 fleet in the game for playing an event.
People playing or not playing the event isn't the issue we should all focus our efforts on. Making the community and DB's commitment to that community better - that should be the focus.

I thought Enterprise was lame.
But, my views on Enterprise doesn’t make your opinion any less valid. You think what they’re doing is lame. I think it’s admirable. I'm fine with agreeing to disagree.
Edit: I apologize if the "hot minute" thing came off as tongue and cheek. It wasn't my intention.
It’s all good man. The reason I said what I did was I truly believe they thought they were doing a good thing by offering the Picard. When there was a ton of backlash, they offered to exchange the Picard for 50,000 honor. They responded to the inmates, let them run the asylum, and made things right to those who felt it was wrong. Problem corrected. This is why I don’t understand the boycott stance still in effect. And I also didn’t mean any disrespect to you Matt. Just thought there was a peaceful resolution so the storm should calm

May take, just mine, is that the "boycott" and resurrection of the DB: DB movement is about accountability and integrity. I've never seen so many one step forward two steps back moves before. I think DB makes some good, sometimes even great moves that invariably seem to be followed by some pretty boneheaded blunders. They will never be a great developer but with some effort, they could be consistently good.
A boycott for many means spending no money and taking all the freebies (130k VP). It gets you stuff and it costs you nothing. The perfect way to boycott. And then there is the low-VP boycott, which is the "I don't five a flying f" one, and just as powerful

Thing is, it still works as a word in a certain sense that benefits the community It has to be said that KM are the biggest spenders as a fleet (as they have multiple fleets) in STT, so if they close their wallets for a few weeks... unless other people pick it up, it will hurt. And thing is, other people are picking it up... on the side of KM. It's a good thing, I can say this much.
The boycott, DB:DB 2: Electric Bugaloo, not re-upping your monthly card....all of this isn't just a snap "OMG FREE PECCARD? WTFOMGBBQ" ...at least I hope for most it isn't a snap to that.
There have, for two years, been instance after instance of issues plaguing this game. Some were unforseen, some were very avoidable, but all have been in some way, shape or form due to an overall bigger root cause. 13 months ago, I had my fill and called Radoff out on the carpet. Those were fun times. You can re-live all the excitement Right Here. The culmination of a years worth of errors, issues, flubs, breaks, lack of communication and overall lack of accountability. I put the entire onus on him as the CEO of the company.
Not long after that, we got introduced to our Erin. She came in with a smile and a can-do attitude. The crowd quickly turned on her to the point where she didn't want to appear on camera again, let alone in public at a gathering.
From this, on or around March 17th, the Do Better movement was christened officially. In those 3 months preceding, things appeared to be improving before they broke down on the side of the road again. Since that time, in the last year, we have had some awesome additions to the game, fixes and improvements, some somber moments for the loss of staff and friends, but overall the game has advanced.
What hasn't advanced was the core issues that still, to this day, plague us - an overall lack of ownership, communication and visibility.
Now everyone is mad about something - that will never change. Every topic on these forums starts with a single topic and 2 hours later, it's in 3 different directions. There are posters here who are only mad that they spent $25/50k on Peccard to get him free. Others are upset about the outage and the loss of rewards. Still others harbor ill-will due to the Christmas event. And so on. And so on. No one person or group is wrong in their disappointment or what it's over, but as a scattered group of 2 here and 8 there complaining about singular issues, things don't gather traction. The intent behind DB:DB was to gather a singular focus from the base to the staff of what we need to continue a healthy & prosperous relationship. It was never about sitting out an event or making a statement on a leaderboard. It was about making sure the old, broken style of project and game management that was going on in Suite 210 would evolve into something less....unstable.

I have no intention of redefining English, mainly because I am Bulgarian, and hence, a foreigner. But how about calming down and reading what Frank just said two posts ago. Unless we come together as a community and unify our "voice", we will never accomplish anything. EDIT: I wish I could awesome it multiple times, cause people see reason and tend to read those.

Very calm already... I’ve read them all and agree with them... I agree with the goal as well... What is incorrect is to state “what boycott means to me...” There is very little wiggle room for interpreting this word as it stands. If you say, don’t spend money to send DB a message, that’s one thing (and probably the most effective). If you say boycott, that means NO DEALINGS, so if you still play, even if it’s crafting one item and getting the community awards, then it’s not truly a boycott. We can bash DB’s poor communication (a very valid point) but we should also strive to do the same ourselves. That’s all.
I’ve been here more than a hot minute and I still think it’s lame. This thread and quite frankly the idea of a boycott. I love it when people threaten to not re-up their monthly card. Yeah that $4 a month is really gonna scare them.
It's a *little* bit more than the $4/month.....
I can't speak for KM, and to be honest the recent problems didn't impact me too much. But the lack of communication, the mistakes made, and all the small things added up make me stop and think, "why am I spending so much on this game?"
Solidarity with my KM mates on this issue.
Spending curtailed until further notice.
One less whale in the sea, here.
And that is what I meant with my post. Boycotting doesn't mean "not playing" - it means "no dealings", which in this case means no spending. And that is very much what I will be doing as well. As I am no part of KM, I can't know all the info, but as far as I know, they have at least 3 or 4 active fleets. That's between 150 and 200 members. If 50% of them hear the call, that's 100. If 50% of those all immortalize the new Legendaries, that's 5* you need to buy, which takes between 100 and 150$. Multiply that by 50. Now add the 5*10$ for the 5*1250 chroniton offer on each player. And then it gets interesting... And did I mention they are the top spender on the STT server as a fleet... I didn't. Sorry.
Keep it up people. Thatis the proper way to do it. And for God's sake, read Frank's post above...

Position 2 and 15 held by anonymous players? Or is it KM playing the game but afraid of being caught out? Just play or not but don't be afraid or ashamed.

Dude, you have NO evidence...what's with throwing around baseless accusations on flimsy speculation?!
We're all on the same side here, and have no place for pointless, disruptive trolling.
Believe it or not, there are many players who have a VIP score with two commas in it (meaning they've spent over $20k on the game) and they aren't active on the forums...or reddit...or in fleets. They just play. They don't want to be part of all the hubub around here.
The first person doesn't even have an avatar, and to my knowledge the only way to get that is to have never selected one at the beginning of the game. So obviously a person who spends to FF crew weekly, has a very high captains level, and happens to have spent some fair amount of chrons. And that means they are in KM?
Just to add some clarity regarding the mysterious [KM] Kor’s Marauder’s and the pics of assorted players in no fleet. They’re not in KM. I won’t go into detail here but the first is a not so elaborate attempt to discredit the fleet, and the second is just ridiculous.
As for KM, here is my squad. There’s a combined 10 solo wins, and over 10 squads wins for Chang’s Marauder’s there and not a single point. Keep it up everyone!
Yikes. Them’s some dirty politics. Thanks for setting the record straight, Rowden. Don’t understand why some people have it out for you guys. You play hard and fair, and you’re standing up for what you believe in - which is something to respect.
It's hard to not recognize those KM players. I have met a lot of great players who joined km. Always respectful towards me and fleet mates. Yeah we battle but it's healthy competition. None of them said they were playing so I was confused.
It didn't matter. I know in our fleet not everyone is sitting it out but burning off extra chronitons. So no problem. But people pretending to be in another fleet is cheap and dirty. It's just a game don't bring other peoples spirits down.

I just got my monthly yellow button to buy my monthly card on 3 accounts. And I am ignoring it, so there is $12 less that DB is getting.
And I am playing in the event, but only what I can play as a free player. No money for Chron packs, no dil for chrons. Just the Chrons I have.
