higher than the 4* Doc who taught him everything he knew?
To be fair, that's a bad example (although I agree in general.) He was being controlled by the holodeck computer and therefore his stats aren't based on Tom Paris but rather the character Lt. Bobby Davis.
Well you are sort of correct. Except Lt. Bobby Davis was not a combat medic. At no time in the episode does he a)carry the medic bag DB gave him b)perform any medical duties..zero. c)identify himself as medic of any kind. In fact when Torres starts having labor pains it is very clear the Hirogen cut off access to his he medical training.
Combat Medic Paris is a made up crew from DB. Just like "Agent Janeway", who players mistakenly thought was from that episode until the real Janeway from that episode was released ("Katrine Janeway").
You can call them inspired by the Hirgoen holodeck episode but not from the episode.
Somewhat back on topic, I think this event will be bloodbath. I doubt I'll have the stamina to go for Q. I'll take my "Micky B" and go home.
Agent Janeway is from that episode. She is in that outfit a little later on. DB just did not call her Katrine.
The character DB gave us was a Section 31 agent not a member of the French resistance like in the episode. Thats why I said inspired by.
That trait always baffled me as Janeway was never dressed in 1940's gear working for Section 31, let alone in the exact same outfit she was in when acting out Katrine's character on the Holodeck. Section 31 was never part of Voyager.
The same reason Klingon Neelix was KCA in the Timelines story. Someone was drunk.

They need to stop drinking during the work hours; they need to save it for the first thing in the morning. I know Romulan Ale and Bloodwine are enticing, though.
There are three ways to do something; the right way, the wrong way, and the Janeway.

I too am curious about the community rewards.
I believe they will be present, little doubt about that.. I just wonder if they will be special.
Given that they have us 500 chronitons to start off, I believe they will be extra special. Most recent Galaxy's have only had a 100 chron mail.
Yeah. I know we will most likely have the Community Rewards. But, people have been wondering if it will be anything like last year. Convergence Day had like NINE Rewards. Started at 150,000,000 and went to 2,400,000,000

Ah. So Quarky has some medicine skills. Excellent. Science, medicine and engineering are covered for this month, we'll be back to the sec/com/dip for a few weeks. Phew. Was getting worried about that!
Looking at the stats Graduation Burnham is the new go to gal for SCI crew. Mariarchi Q stats aren't great and Vacation Quark is meh at best, so getting the threshold rewards will be the way to go with this one. Thanks DB for letting me save some cash for the next event.
The one time we got an expedition in like the past few month was a hybrid event while I was on vacation and now it's back to galaxy/faction
Not really interested in any of the new chars either save for Burnham. Ah well. At least we get two threshold burnhams.
(Mariachi Q is okay and I'm not really into having quark lol)
Should be an interesting weekend anyways!

Convergence day Quark should always get the Big bonus on Convergence day. Mariachi Q is nice and I was happy and grateful to receive him but Convergence day Quark should not be forgotten.

Couldn't agree more.
It's in his freaking name ! Lol.
Gotta ask why is Quark med? Is it for him being a bit of a counselor for Worf/Dax? If so should he have a counselor trait?
It makes no sense story-wise but it does gameplay-wise. No other featured character has medicine this time around.
Gotta disagree with you on this. It doesn't make sense gameplay-wise either. There is no harm if no character has the skill, just use your best Med crew. On the other hand, this character will be around forever with a skill it shouldn't have and unlike traits, can't really be corrected later.
Always excited for a new Quark, the Q is awesome as well. The Burnham means I am getting some airlock honor. With it being convergence day again, would have liked to see at least CD Quark get the full bonus.
Thanks to the generous free Mariachi Q, and him being such a breeze to equip, I'm going into the event with him already FE and ready to share with my squadron as soon as the event goes live. That's cool. Happy about two new Burnhams in the solo thresholds, too, and I'm looking forward to adding both of those to my crew. I'm almost certainly going to bail as soon as I clear those thresholds, though. Good luck to everyone chasing rank rewards!
Also, in case anyone cares, the Q's Choice packs last year featured the following:
5* Age of Sail Crusher
5* General Chang
5* Grand Nagus Zek
4* 1701 Jadzia Dax
4* Changeling Bashir
4* Kal-if-fee Spock
Having started the game during Convergence Day and not having the slightest clue what I was doing, I missed out on all the goodies, so looking forward to this event!

Tourist Quark "is meh at best", if you don't like playing Voyages, or had a lobotomy then I can totally understand that feeling.
His raw Voyage total is over 2300 which is pretty good for a SR, and he has MED, an under represented skill that is extremely useful for Voyages, he is another crew that you can add into CMD or DIP for a MED primary voyage, or you can add him to MED for a DIP primary, that is really useful for a lot of players on here.

Gameplay might not be the right word here. There is an incentive for the company to maximize the monetization opportunities in the deployment of gameplay and content. If you have medicine missions and no characters have that as a bonus, everyone is roughly equal and plays 'normally'. The bonus gives leverage to those who want to invest time and/or money. That's how a game like this can monetize gameplay and succeeds as a product. This event would miss an opportunity if no bonus characters have medicine as a trait. That is what I meant. I see no other justification for it.
As a player, I'd rather they have a more natural approach and stick to what fits the stories. Pretty sure the game would do ok if they only seized some opportunities instead of all of them. Especially since the premise of the game allows for so much twisting of the Trek lore to begin with.
Admiral of the Québec Alliance Fleet. Joignez-vous à nous.
Yeah since there's only a small number of super-rare Sci primary crew, it makes Burnham a very powerful card in that category.
Quark is a strong dip - and Ferengi - and with the secondary Med he's actually a powerful super-rare in his own right. Mariachi Q is free, and there may be other goodies in the thresholds so all in all its a good event with some great crew, especially if you like Q or Burnham or Quark, which many people do, oddly enough.
I don't expect to do well, but I shall enjoy the event for what it is.

Of course it makes sense. Alcohol is the best medicine.

I prefer Andorian ale and Spring wine... 😁
Can we possibly get just if the Community Rewards are gonna be added to for this Event, without details of what we are getting?
People seem a little a reluctant to wait until Saturday afternoon to find out if they need pitchforks or not.....

I'm leaning towards normal. Most of the benefit last time was the CD Quark in the higher Community Score... and we just got the Free Q.....

Will there be a special Q Pack again?
Any chance it can just be a single discovery crew to wind up the moaners in here?
