Tilly shouldnt have been a 5 star. Really hard to grasp that one.
She is main cast of the show and a total legit legendary. Really if you don t like DSC all fine, but ...... To say, she don t deserve to be highest ENG in game is different, here i agree.
Nah I watch the episode before and the new episode when on. Make a Sunday of it. Love it. But in no universe, mirror or prime should a cadet, including Wes, be a gold . Alt future Tilly maybe.

DB is paid to promote the show. They give it high value crew so we'll watch. They did the same with the comic book. I like my high value Pimp-Daddy Geordi and my Gun Show Picard even if I will never read the comic. I assume I'll like my high value Discovery free when though I don't pay to watch the show.

It cracks me up that people think that DB has anywhere near the final say about what happens in the game. The Suits at the studio make the final decisions on a lot of stuff, I am sure.......
"The truth is like a lion; you don't have to defend it. Let it loose; it will defend itself."
Tilly shouldnt have been a 5 star. Really hard to grasp that one.
We have only seen the first half of the first season thus far, so it is hard to say how well she is in her field, but the fact she is merely still a Cadet and was chosen to be a prominent figure aboard an experimental ship means she must have a lot of talent and knowledge in the Engineering category.
I do agree with the notion that her stats, along with a lot of the Discovery crew, are too high overall, but for her to be a 5* makes sense from what I can conclude about her from just the simple fact she is a Cadet working at the forefront of one of Starfleet's most experimental ships (that is more than likely also tied heavily into Section 31).
There are three ways to do something; the right way, the wrong way, and the Janeway.
Loving Mariachi Q, but a THIRD Burnam when we still don't have Dr. Culber, Airiam, or Detmer? Or at the very least Admiral Cornwell? Culber, Airiam and Detmer would also be perfect candidates for 3* crew...just sayin'
I thought there was a Dr. Culber but was pack only... and was super high MED
We have Culber for sure, and high MED is an understatement!
He almost breaches 1000 in the stat just at one star, that's uncanny.
All 5 stars is 1371 MED that's almost 200 higher than the second highest MED who is Mobile Doctor with 1191, and with starbases Hugh'll go over 1400.
While I get the argument that Tilly shouldn’t be a high ENG 5⭐️ because she is a Cadet, the more egregious Discovery character (stat wise) is Dr. Culbert who brings power creep gap to crazy levels and especially for MED which everyone wants (see above). Now Culber is no cadet (it’s strange to have any cadet serving on the most advance experimental starship to begin with because... well cadet as in not graduated yet) but he’s not CMO either.
It may be because a lot of people got Tilly from the event and packs while Culber only showed up in a pack once so few people have him. So everyone beats on her. It may be just the title cadet.
But is it a coincidence that for the stats that everyone says they want like ENG, MED (so far no crazy high SCI but Harry Mudd with SCI over 1000 doesn’t make sense either) are now filled by Uber powerful Discovery crew which, if forums are to be believed (cough... not...) many people airlock in sight?
It may be because a lot of people got Tilly from the event and packs while Culber only showed up in a pack once so few people have him. So everyone beats on her. It may be just the title cadet.
It's really a combination but for most of us, it boils down to 2 simple things.
1. The title cadet, so you're right, but most important what that title implies: new to the field, a trainee, someone gathering experience, not beset with years of it already
2. Her character's development in the show so far. So far, Tilly has not shown any magnitude of groundbreaking or mind-blowing feats of engineering prowess or skill. For the most part she's been a hanger-on, a secretary of sorts to Stamets. She has taken no initiative to break the mold on her own as an engineer and that's why the majority of us who do have issue with her crew card, have issue with her. In the realm of engineering accomplishments and skill, she has thus far been...underwhelming.

I love the Disco show and characters...I really will spend to get Culber next time. I did 5 pulls for him...no love though
I love Culber's character even though we barely know him. And while I am not entirely convinced he's deserving of having the highest MED in game, I will say he's one of my favourite cards because damn that's some nice MED.
And just to clarify for the previous discussion, the reason I have less of an issue with Culber's stats as opposed to Tilly's is more based on title. Doctor implies that a person has accomplished many feats in their career to be granted that title. Medical school is no joke and takes years or training and hands-on experience to complete. And since Stamets and Culber have been together for a little while, it is clear Hugh isn't new to being a doctor either, he's been a doctor for some time, thus he has quite a bit of experience.

It's like, so you (DB) are telling me that Tilly (base 1217) is better at ENG than a super-experienced engineer like...
Scotty? (highest ENG base = Captain Scott - 977)
Torres? (highest ENG base = Assimilated Torres - 1114)
O'Brien? (highest ENG base = RAF Miles O'Brien - 1121)
La Forge? (highest ENG base = Assimilated La Forge - 1140)
Tucker? (highest ENG base = North Star Tucker - 799)
Data? (highest ENG base = Romulan Data - 1153)
They're not trying to say anything like that at all. They're trying to say "spend money on Tilly because her in game stats are better than what you currently have."

But the problem is that if they continue to ignore those things, it will cease to be a Star Trek collect-your-favorites game and become a give-us-money-and-take-what-we-give game. Might as well make Spot the cat a med 1500 base because people would buy it even though we want real med crew.

Once you put stats on cards and make higher stats more useful, that's exactly what it is. Collect your favorites is baseball cards.
Peeps, get away from your likings or dislikes of characters + and what Tilly did so far in the show etc. That are simply game and business decisions, nothing else. If a new character gets introduced to STT and has juicy stats more people are trying to get/buy it. Everything gets more powerful all the time, not only in games: PC´s, TVs, smartphones etc. Concerning power yd´s star is a hasbeen tomorrow.
I don't doubt that by the end of this year there will be a 5* of every Discovery main cast and more than a few more 5* supporting cast
Maybe I'm misreading this, but I can't help feeling there's an insinuation that somehow this would be a problem and if that's the point being made, I don't see what the problem would be. All the main cast characters of all the series should have at least one 5* so far as I'm concerned. Yes, there are still several who don't. I hope that gets rectified throughout the year, too. That group presently consists of the following, for anyone wondering:
DS9 Ezri
DS9 Jake
VOY Kes
VOY Neelix
ENT Mayweather
ENT Sato
DIS Stamets
DIS Tyler
Besides, there are only five main cast characters in DIS and three already have a 5* persona. There are still 50 weeks of events remaining in the year. Adding a 5* Tyler and a 5* Stamets doesn't seem like overkill.
Also, I feel like some of our forum posters are romanticizing the Legendary tier as though it's been sacrosanct from Day 1. Consider:
Captain Morgan Bateson
Crell Moset
Dr. Richard Daystrom
Grilka
Joachim
Kai Opaka
Satan's Robot
Sulan
Yarnek
I dig most of those (Bateson is only memorable at all because he was played by Kelsey Grammer during a high point in his career; I forget about "The Omega Glory" entirely), but I have a hard time believing any of them would have been unanimous choices for 5* cards. Then there are some of the variants of main cast that have been selected (looking at you, Beowulf Kim and North Star Tucker, and I recall some scoffing when Smitten Jean-Luc Picard was introduced last year).
Tilly shouldnt have been a 5 star. Really hard to grasp that one.

I don't think she's a legendary though. Stamets, an accomplished scientist/engineer, who probably holds multiple degrees, yes absolutely. Tilly who is fresh out of Starfleet Academy and isn't some super genius like Amanda Rogers, no, she's just not legendary material from what we've seen in the show as of yet.
"Foreshadowing, a literary technique...." Dang, can't remember the source for that quote, but it stuck for 30+ years & I think it applies to the Tilly Situation.

You just KNOW that the surprise guest will be another Janeway
Risa Janeway?
We still are missing so many Janeways
Risa Janeway
Xindi Crisis Janeway
1701 Janeway
Changeling Janeway
The Voyage Home Janeway
Discovery Janeway
Torchbearer Janeway
Detective Janeway
and many more, in fact Janeway is a Q herself, she just doesn't let anyone know that.
Just reuse the klingon Janeway art and call it Quarkway or maybe Janark?
Or a fused character: Janelix?
The only fuse they should do is Janeway and Paris. Lizard Janeway

tl;dr Gatekeeping fandom is tedious and boring.
The issue stated was that Tilly having a legendary being less than --- well legendarily competent vs Stamets and others who frankly are more --- no other way of saying it, more than an affectation of the f-bomb and human naivete --- and the answer to that is that there will be more. There will be a 5* Stamets, there will be a 5* Saru.
The only negative connotation would be my personal thought that your other list will fall more into neglect unless it keeps getting posted and brought back up.
I take no pleasure in Discovery. I do not watch it anymore. However I'm not going to go off like other folks wishing a denial of all access to said show. I am hoping that as Discovery becomes more a part of the game that it does not get to the point of being the main focus. I'm cautiously optimistic in that respect. But I am also doubtful that we will ever see a 5* Kes, Neelix, Jake or Ezri. Maybe one of them in the coming year.
I'm also still a little sour as we get to the 2nd Anniversary and see several previous series cast members not featured in any event. Scotty, Kes, Archer. Yet I think Discovery crew will each have multiples this year -- and frankly, I think the best odds are that one of those three will have 1-2 events this year with the other two remaining on the maybe someday list for another year or two.
If bringing more of the STD into the game frequently can be done without the continued neglect for these characters and with a good balance (which we seem to have had so far though if we have another Discovery mega that kinda wipes that equation being the only group with a repeat mega) with the other series, then I am perfectly content with 5s of them all.
And incidentally Grilka would kick just about everyone (including Kirks when his attempt at seduction would fail) in their hindquarters.
Addendum for Travis - Incidentally, and for the record I actually hate Enterprise more than Discovery. I found Enterprise derivative if not plagiaristic of other non-trek works, with sub-par acting and writing that had a hit/miss ratio that made Shaq's free throw percentage look like a pie in the sky ideal. Discovery ain't fun for me but it looks to have some production values. And Doug Jones.
But its here, and I'll actually advocate for Archer (and if you recall I did advocate for Sato prior) to be included in an event. Why? Because if all shows have an equal shot at being represented then the ones I love won't be left in the cold. And because those in my fleet and others seem to get some enjoyment there.

Some of us actually like Tilly, and some of us would stay up til 3am to ensure we get Tilly and for some of us Tilly is the very first legendary we have won in an event. For some of us, Tilly is our best engineer and we enjoy seeing her in gold at the top of our crew list. Some of us think she rocks.
Tilly shouldnt have been a 5 star. Really hard to grasp that one.

On screen abilities have never had any correlation to in game profiency since the start of the game. No one noticed Medic Tom Paris is the highest 4* MED in the entire game higher than the 4* Doc who taught him everything he knew? That’s just the one that popped into my head. I could make a list of 100-150 easily
The ship of “wanting the stats to make sense” already sailed two years ago.

I've actually held off on crafting a legendary item for Combat Medic Paris because I refuse to have Paris as my top med in the game...over the EMH, Bashir, Crusher, etc. It's ludicrous.
