higher than the 4* Doc who taught him everything he knew?
To be fair, that's a bad example (although I agree in general.) He was being controlled by the holodeck computer and therefore his stats aren't based on Tom Paris but rather the character Lt. Bobby Davis.
Sisko: What are you gonna learn in the next few months that you haven't already learned in the last 300 years?
Ezri Dax: Oh, how to keep from breaking into tears for no reason...
The only negative connotation would be my personal thought that your other list will fall more into neglect unless it keeps getting posted and brought back up.
The key reason I saw fit to bring it up.
...I am also doubtful that we will ever see a 5* Kes, Neelix, Jake or Ezri. Maybe one of them in the coming year.
Bestselling Author Jake Sisko seems to me the most appropriate to have been a 5*, but obviously that's already been squandered as a 4*. My personal picks, in case anyone at DB is taking suggestions:
I'm on record as loving having the Niners in the game, but I'll readily concede that these choices are cop-outs because I'm at a loss to think of any obvious canon alternatives. There are always, of course, non-canon possibilities beyond my interest in imagining.
I'm also still a little sour as we get to the 2nd Anniversary and see several previous series cast members not featured in any event. Scotty, Kes, Archer.
I share that sourness.
And incidentally Grilka would kick just about everyone (including Kirks when his attempt at seduction would fail) in their hindquarters.
You had me up until you asked me to accept a scenario where not only Kirk, but multiple Kirks, would fail at seduction. I can go along with Aviator Yar and Mirror Jean-Luc Picard and even 23rd Century Martok, but even I have limits.

Do I get my bad for the game and universe gatekeeper of canon moniker revoked then? Or was that a passive double down?
I love the Disco show and characters...I really will spend to get Culber next time. I did 5 pulls for him...no love though
I love Culber's character even though we barely know him. And while I am not entirely convinced he's deserving of having the highest MED in game, I will say he's one of my favourite cards because damn that's some nice MED.
And just to clarify for the previous discussion, the reason I have less of an issue with Culber's stats as opposed to Tilly's is more based on title. Doctor implies that a person has accomplished many feats in their career to be granted that title. Medical school is no joke and takes years or training and hands-on experience to complete. And since Stamets and Culber have been together for a little while, it is clear Hugh isn't new to being a doctor either, he's been a doctor for some time, thus he has quite a bit of experience.
While I would agree for the most part, one could argue she may have plenty of experience, we just don't know about her background. Take for example, Wesley; at 15 or so, he was manning the helm of the flagship of Starfleet, doing high level experiments for his on-board school assignments, etc., BEFORE he ever became a cadet.
Also, the last episode of DISC show Tilly advancing the spore canister system 2000%, a feat I figure few others might be able to accomplish. We just don't know enough about her yet, IMHO.

I won't say that she can't. But I will be skeptical, that is until she gets a Traveller popping up and telling everyone how "special" she is too
Admiral of the Haus of GaghGagh, Starbase level 94, we are not accepting members at this time.
Captain of the voyage vessels: Queen of Bashir, Landsknecht, and Sunspear, the first luxury starship cruiseliners.
Amenities include wifi, fully-functioning holodecks, a full-service bar, 3 party decks, a Trill spa, and a business centre.
Fun fact: The ships are propelled by bouncy castle technology.
Janeway may be in the lead, but I think Burnham is a dark horse favorite to pass her by convergence day 3.0. 9 episodes in and we're already getting her 3rd version. Just saying.
I'm on record as loving having the Niners in the game, but I'll readily concede that these choices are cop-outs because I'm at a loss to think of any obvious canon alternatives.
We've gotten pretty far off-topic in this thread, but just wanted to chime in that I think one obvious alternative to a 5* Kes would be "Transformation Kes"...
Could you please continue the petty bickering? I find it most intriguing. ~ Data, ST:TNG "Haven"

Warlord Kes is the right answer there, though not the only plausible 5*. And if that's the Year of Hell Starfleet Neelix variant, I think he's a great fit for 5* treatment too.
Journalist Jake Sisko would be a fine 5* crew by me. Staying behind on Deep Space Nine Terok Nor, reporting from the front, smuggling information out and helping with the resistance is a very fine high point for that character.
Ezri is tougher, but we still don't have a standard Lieutenant Ezri Dax - in the vein of Lt Cmdr. Jadzia Dax. That would be a totally appropriate 5* in my mind.
Since it is all new event crew, I'm guessing it will be Ferengi with minor bonus stats and we'll have 2* Rom and 3* Brunt in the rewards. Could also be Discovery crew, I guess, but less likely. Just a hunch.
Love to see another Q! Would be nice to see other Qs (not John's character).

Pah Wraith Jake would be a really cool 5* in my opinion. Also, Field Medic Jake from that really good episode with Bashir, during the war with the Klingons.
For Kes, the character of Tieran (in Kes' body) from the episode 'Warlord' would make a very good 5* as well.
Just Need to vent a bit air here: 3 galaxy Events in a row? Does DB really Need to sell those chronitons so badly?
Apart from this, I think this year we Need a new Event type. ONLY shuttle Events are very repetetive, even if the Event Crew changes. Expedition Events you can find when you look up "repetetive" in the dictionary - the bigger your Crew is, the more missions you will run. Yes, the changes are good, but I´ll just not stupidly click the same 4 Buttons for an hour, three times a day for 4 consecutive days. For the Money I could earn in that time, I could buy 2 5* characters...
And galaxy: its not bad once in a while, but again: 3 in a row is a bit hard.
Also, DB Needs to look at the ranking System. We Need a System based on "top 5%" instead of "top 1000". I´m not sure how to implement it as you will never know if you make the top 5% if "how many are 5%" is decided at the end of the Event for sure, but currently it gets harder and harder to actually make the top 1000 without spending dilithium - and I know that once I cannot anymore, I will quit the game.
Those complaining that newer cards are being introduced that are way more powerful than existing cards, keep in mind this is totally NORMAL for any game that people play. Newer is gonna do better than older. Power creep is a natural thing.

I'm not overly bothered by power creep, What bothers me is that with the honor system being what it is, it is very expensive or difficult to clear old 5* crew to clear space for new crew.
Airlocking a 3/5 crew that is FE seems to be a silly way to clear space. Immortalizing would be ideal, but if you finish top 1k each week, that's usually four 1/5 crew in a month, with 20 stars to get in order to immortalize and vault them. The honor system will get you one of those extra stars that month, but realistically, you are taking in far more 5* crew than you can clear.
Returning to the original point then, I say that the power creep wouldn't bother people as much if they felt that they could keep up with the influx of new and better crew without spending thousands of dollars each month or having to throw away (airlock) what smaller investment you did make.
(would this be an appropriate time to throw in a little "DB - Do Better" ? )
So back to the event topic. Regardless of stats, I'm happy for another Quark. Hope his got his Horgons out!
We are so far overdue for a new Quark it's not even funny. It would be nice if a new Quark version was the two or three star crew for the event as well. Maybe Occupation Quark or Mirror Quark.
I am excited for all three, and I've never been much of a Q fan. But Mariachi Q...well, that's different! But please DB, we must have a sound clip to go with this one!
Not a fan of Q!!!
with a flash, Q appears on the bridge with a trumpet, accompanied by a mariachi band
AU CONTRAIRE, MON CAPITAINE! HE'S BACK! 🎼La Paloma🎼
Janeway may be in the lead, but I think Burnham is a dark horse favorite to pass her by convergence day 3.0. 9 episodes in and we're already getting her 3rd version. Just saying.
Burnham has 3 versions from the first 9 episodes - Janeway would need 57 versions to be equivalent - so there's a fair few Janeways to come on that basis... (We'd also have 90+ Worfs!!)
higher than the 4* Doc who taught him everything he knew?
To be fair, that's a bad example (although I agree in general.) He was being controlled by the holodeck computer and therefore his stats aren't based on Tom Paris but rather the character Lt. Bobby Davis.
Well you are sort of correct. Except Lt. Bobby Davis was not a combat medic. At no time in the episode does he a)carry the medic bag DB gave him b)perform any medical duties..zero. c)identify himself as medic of any kind. In fact when Torres starts having labor pains it is very clear the Hirogen cut off access to his he medical training.
Combat Medic Paris is a made up crew from DB. Just like "Agent Janeway", who players mistakenly thought was from that episode until the real Janeway from that episode was released ("Katrine Janeway").
You can call them inspired by the Hirgoen holodeck episode but not from the episode.
Somewhat back on topic, I think this event will be bloodbath. I doubt I'll have the stamina to go for Q. I'll take my "Micky B" and go home.

Agent Janeway is from that episode. She is in that outfit a little later on. DB just did not call her Katrine.
There are three ways to do something; the right way, the wrong way, and the Janeway.
