Finally made the top 1000 for my first time!

This is why I like faction events in terms of the competitive factor. Yes, I too despise numerous shuttle failures, but faction is the only event where I can put forth my work, take 3 hours off to live my life, don't have to use a lot of precious resources like chrons or components, and I can have relatively smooth sailing.

Congratulations. It is a significant milestone that should be celebrated.

4 shuttles each 3 hours like a clock... or more like with a clock of alarm variety. With solid booster backup it's top-1000 even with mediocre crew.

That's just it. I DO that. I never turn my phone off and I send shuttles out in the night as well. (I just get up a lot - I don't actually set an alarm.) I do only have 3 shuttles, though. Maybe that's where I'm going wrong...

I went to 4 shuttles a few months ago. I took ages saving up the dil (and I like to spend it a little bit here and there so it wasn't easy not doing that) but as soon as I got my fourth and joined a decent fleet then BAM I haven't been under threshold ever since and I'm starting to win extra crew. This event I've been in the top 1000 for most of it, though RNGesus played tricksters last night and failed all 4 shuttles for the first time.

This is an unusual event, I don't have a good depth of crew yet but because bonus crew is so limited I don't think anyone else does either. So far I'm ranking higher than ever in a Faction, top 1000 (a 'win') is within reach, whereas running 3 shuttles I was barely able to make it to 70,000.

Its really worth it, for dailies even if not for events.

Best of luck. I hope you make it under 1k.

I'll also add that four shuttles is essential for placing to with the legendary.

Thanks. I finished 1231 which is by far the highest in a Faction Event so far, netting me all 4 Sevens which makes it worthwhile.

Last best Faction was The Akritirian Job where I got 2 Tactical Burnham's, ranking 2463.

When I have prepared I can do better in a Galaxy, if I want to, my best result being Orion Belt where I came in at 421, because I wanted Tilly. I don't usually put that much effort and resources in though I can if I want to.

Faction is much harder because you need the shuttles and the event and bonus crew. Which I usually don't have because I've only been playing 6 months! When I had 3 shuttles and wasn't doing the quick start I could barely get into the top 10,000!

In this event, both event and bonus were really needed. However, I've managed to do some factions under 1000 using just bonus crew (though leveling threshold as well) if I have sufficient quantity. It took me several months to work up to doing well in factions--- and a lot of work building the crew.

My tactic was having FF/FE Drafted McCoy, FF/FE Katra McCoy, FF/FE Seven of Nine, FF 2/5 Mademoiselle de Neuf, FF/FE Temporal Agent Seven, FF/FE Drone Seven, and FF/FE Warship Yar.

I spent the time before the event on levelling my Warship Yar, then as I got her piece by piece I levelled my Duelist Yar as fast as possible. I actually used my McCoys and Sevens at a lesser frequency than the Yars because most of the shuttle slots were SEC or COM.

If you split yourself amongst two factions and did jut three seaters, you'd get 2 med shuttles. I did the hirogen and klingon ones and had Dark Ages Katra and Drafted on shuttles the whole event :)

I ran Hirogen and Maquis. I even found a use for Prisoner Bones. First time out of the freezer for him.

Ditto, but I ran Klingon instead of Hirogen because I needed bloodwine & house crests & gagh. After the kickstart, I will run only 1 faction until I start to fail at least 1 shuttle, then usually switch that shuttle to farming another event faction.

I finished 298th, my second-best ranking ever, so I was pretty happy. This next event, though? I’m skeert! 🕷

I ran Maquis as much as I could because I'm always in need of 2* Encoded Communiques, but I ran Hirogen and Klingon as well. Mostly because I was running low on Maquis transmissions.
