First Skirmish Event: feedback and issue thread!

    Android platform on cell and tablet.

    No functionality issues noticed yet.

    Enjoying event very very much.
    Not bored in anyway.

    Enjoying prizes as they are.
    I think the difficulty is fine..
    I don't want any changes to be made..

    ... But if there were to be a change to appease players who are bored, the suggestion above by Ditto, I could support.. that after the fixed standard 5, have a jumping escalation of vp, difficulty and prize boxes.

    I like the endless idea, but to keep the effect monitized it is better for db to have a fixed number so we have to spend on chronitons to get Intel. So.. maybe have the front 5 we have now and a back 5, after completing the front 5 you get asked "Press on deeper into enemy territory?" (Or something like that) and each additional battle is 200 Intel to start. (So it keeps its monitized status)

    Try to turn your device off and on. If that is still an issue please submit a ticket to Support via the option in game.

    Questions for those of you encountering phase and/or server errors. Was the game in the background prior to it happening?

    Any details you can provide will be useful in finding the cause of the issue.

    The game wasn't in the background before I get the error. It always happens when I click the engage button.

    I usually recommend NOT leaving the game running in the background in any case, and particularly while playing an event. If that was something that you were doing, try changing this and see if that improves the situation for you.

    We are also looking into it on our end but it is unlikely a solution will be found before the end of the event.

    I'm posting this here because is the first time since the beginning of the event that I'm not getting 1000 per battle on epic and 2000 in the end.

    I couldn't find anywhere if the VPs vary based on performance but even when I took no damage and defeated enemies really quick I got 750 instead 1000 points. I got 1500 at the end once and 750 instead of 1000 3 times.

    Not in the background at all when happened and when was repeating the error until I abandon the skirmish and restart.

    Yes but when I re-run it, I get the same error after the first battle

    I abandoned the latest and it worked. I was able to complete a round. Lost 2,400 intel in attempts though

    Platform: Samsung phone.

    I have had only a few chroniton drops, none over 150, and 150 only 3 times. (I got no chroniton drops at all my last 8 times playing through the event.) I'm not complaining about that much since I assume it is just luck. My point in mentioning it is that I have not had much cause to notice chroniton issues. Then I spent all my saved chronitons on leveling crew. I had six or seven left and then did some real work for a short time. I then played the event through twice and recieved an unprecedented (for me) two drops of 76 chronitons and one drop of 150. I exited the event and saw my chroniton balance was 270. I cannot think of any set of circumstances where that makes sense. Even with the chronitons I had and accounting for time giving a few more, I must have recieved something for each expected drop, but the numbers do not add up.

    Do you have Young Khan, Roga, Pointing Sisko or Riots Bashir in your crew? Those numbers are showing like you have small bonus crew on board instead of event crew.

    Most of the time I have at least one of the bonus crew(those you mentioned). I played again, same ship, same crew with bonuses or not and gained 1000 per victory, 2000 at the end as usual.

    I am mostly enjoying the event thusfar, but I would recommend better documentation to go along with it:

    Interaction of trait matching and bonus crew: Info on this was very cryptic at the start. Exactly what bonus does each provide, and to what? Does the matching trait have to be on the event crew, or can it be on a different crew? Is matching both traits better than matching only one? It's pretty clear now that if you use a single featured event crew member, you have already maxed out the VP bonus. But beyond that, it's still somewhat murky. Do we really have to figure it out for ourselves through trial and error?

    Factors influencing bonus reward roll: Players have reported a wide range of drop randomness for the bonus rewards that can be chosen in lieu of the hull repair function. It leads many to wonder if there are any factors that will improve drops. Does event crew boost chances of a better reward? Does trait matching boost chances of a better reward? If so, is the number matching traits a factor? Does the duration of the battle influence the bonus reward? Does the amount of hull damage influence the bonus reward?

    Stacking: It was clarified from the start that event crew bonuses would not stack. How about trait matching, does that stack (assuming you don't use event crew or use small bonus crew only)? If so, is matching both traits the way to stack it, or will matching the same trait twice also work?

    Automation: Is using a macro or script to automate skirmishes allowed, if done through the official client? If not, how will this be policed?

    Issue: Some VIP0 fleetmates of mine who do not use the forums are reporting that adwarps on high chron missions have a prolonged delay to receive the intel. They thought they weren't getting it at all for a while- and then some extra showed up 20 minutes later. Restarts didn't fix it, just time.

    Feedback: Enjoying the ability to threshold and out fairly easily.
    Issue: I lost signal as I was offered a reward (pesky train tunnels!). I kept the app open but tuned the phone screen off until I had single again. Got this error message. Solved it myself by restarting the game, I was dropped straight into the reward selection screen upon starting.

    Well that was annoying... You lose your Intel and current in-play round when transitioning phase. Bye bye 1200 Intel plus rewards...

  • a suggestion: how about a sixth battle, double or nothing, player optional, where you fight to double the final points against TWO ships. you'd keep the step rewards but lose the last battle and you lose the big end reward...win it and get 2x the points.

    Feedback: Start of battle force quits the application, warning on restart of future loss of Intel
    Issue: This isn't a persistent issue and I'm not yet seeing a common cause. It didn't occur until after updating to the new app version.
    Just as the first battle of a new skirmish was supposed to open, the app force closed. After clearing the device memory, I re-opened the app and re-entered the event. After attempting to start the skirmish again, a pop-up showed (sorry, no screen shots) that indicated the app had recorded a previous failed attempt to run a skirmish and that future similar incidents would result in forfeiture of Intel and that the run would be considered a failure. This happened to me a second time, but the professed consequences fortunately weren't applied. But, it leaves me feeling a bit gun-shy about making further attempts. I got the Darth Bashir that I wanted and everything else with this event is gravy for me (though I'd really like Misnamed Khan), so I guess it's not a huge loss if I stop. But, I'd like to have the option to continue without being spanked if the app is having some problems over which I have no control.

    Figured I'd try this again during the second phase. Was once again booted from the app, this time just as the Reliant battle was supposed to load. I got a screenshot this time upon trying to re-enter the skirmish.

    This time, the skirmish dumped me out once again at the same Reliant load attempt rather than letting me finish the sequence. There was no message after clearing device memory and restarting the app. It just brought me back to try to start another skirmish run and my Intel was lost. I guess I'm mostly hosed out of Skirmish events unless I'm willing to take extraordinary measures to continue playing.

    Hi @Shan - I just experienced the "300 Chronitons were not added to my total" issue as well. What I can tell you is this problem is definitely not consistent, as this was my third time winning this Bonus Reward, and the previous 2 times I received the 300 Chronitons properly. When I went back to look at all 3 to see if there was any type of difference, what I can share with you is the following:

    - the issue happened for me (i.e., Chronitons NOT received) when the reward was after Battle 4/5
    - the times when I DID receive the Chronitions, once was after Battle 2/5, and once was after Battle 1/5

    So perhaps this issue is somehow connected to this particular reward (i.e., 300 Chronitons) not being properly processed only after the 4th battle of a Skirmish.


    EDIT: When I noticed the 300 Chronitons had not been added, I did try logging out of the game and restarting to see if that might fix this issue, but it did not.
  • Might be interesting to mix it up in the future by making one phase of a skirmish event like the Arena, ie, PvP.

    Feedback: possible graphic anomaly

    Issue: Is it me or are the banners for “attack up” (as well as accuracy and evasion) growing in size every time I activate a crew member or ship ability? I don’t remember them being so large that they obstruct the screen, though they thankfully do not prevent me from activating other crew or ship abilities. I abandoned the U.S.S. Defiant very quickly in favor of the H.M.S. Bounty; despite shuffling crew around to match traits the banners keep getting larger.

    This is very distracting. I have the issue on Android. I have noticed that restarting the app helps, but I would really like to see a fix.

    I had the huge text issue too, but I remember having it ages ago as well, before I could warp the ship missions so it's not unique to the event. It is annoying though.
    Sisko: What are you gonna learn in the next few months that you haven't already learned in the last 300 years?

    Indeed, I had some minor trouble activating skills because I couldn’t see the buttons. I will say I haven’t noticed this error since switching from the Bounty to the Cube and reshuffling my crew.
  • Platform: steam though probably all

    Problem: I am forced to upgrade my ships ( if i have schematics) before i can select them.

    Solution: allow players to select a ship without a forced upgrade. I'm probably in the minority but i use schematics as replicator fuel, so until i get a stock pile I don't upgrade my ships. I should be allowed to play at a disadvantage if i want to lol
