Event Dates: Thursday 10/26 until Monday 10/30

These exact event crew + T'Kuvma will provide the best bonuses, but all versions of event crew will provide some.

From the original press release titled "Star Trek: Discovery Warps Into STAR TREK TIMELINE" that was posted on 22 September 2017 10:27 AM, it was stated that:

New crew coming to the game will include Captain Phillipa Georgiou, Lt. Saru, Michael Burnham, T’Kumva, Gabriel Lorca, Paul Stamets, Harry Mudd, Young Sarek,  Ash Tyler, and Silvia Tilly


There are only two options left..... soooo should we start working on leveling Ambassador Sarek as well??

I am very happy it is faction and not expedition. Expeds require way too much button pushing. It will be very disappointing if Michael Burnham isnt in any of the events. She is the main character of the show and she was only in a "best chance" pack.

The fact she was in a best chance makes it unlikely that version of the character will ever feature in an event, although we may see a different one at some point.

So far all the events had the Discovery crew as threshold and the existing crew as ranked, so would suspect Dax as ranked, Mudd likely the four star threshold and Sarek likely the legendary (or vice versa)

Yes, I’m not quite sure what the big surprise is here. The only two that they said were coming that haven’t been released yet are Sarek and Harry Mudd. I guess the only surprise will be which is the 5* and which is the 4*

If this is the case, it's exceedingly disappointing. The main reason I've been pushing through the events is with the hope of getting Burnham in the final week. It doesn't make much sense to me to have a Discovery mega-event that wouldn't include her. I hope this is not the case!

The inclusion of Klingon factions makes me wonder if we won't see some Discovery Klingons as event crew.

I would also be very disappointed if my only chance to get a Burnham was the best of pack. They know she was the one people sought so they dangled her in one of those packs where the crew drops less than encoded comminique's, Eagle Scout badges, or those sticks with the little red ball at the end. The preview for next weeks show made it obvious Sarek was going to be crew but Mudd is lame. Gimme Burnham.

I feel like there's an even chance we'll see Best Chance Burnham again. They must know by now that a lot of players (at least, those invested enough to go to the game's forum, which I'd imagine would trend also towards those willing to put money into the game as well as the time to read up on it) shy away from Best Chance on principle. Some people probably went for her anyway, but I'm sure a lot held back and hoped she'd be available later in some other fashion.

So if she is available later, in an event pack or special pack or whatever, keeping her "limited" this long has built up anticipation, and probably some folks will spend more dilithium (and money) than they would have otherwise, just because "Finally, I can get her!" If she is never available - another version perhaps, but not straight up Starfleet Burnham - then a) the people who did go Best Chance for her feel special, which is good for their game experience, and b) the people who didn't maybe would be more willing to spend next time a very high-profile character is made available only in Best Chance. I feel like 'flipping' players into being willing to give Best Chance a shot that way would be a low-return kind of move - some would, but others maybe would just feel it's just trying to push them into a bad deal and remain opposed - so my feeling is that the profit is in keeping her limited for now, but making her available in the end.

Says me who's never been in charge of running a game ever. But I dearly love Quark, and he's all about profit, that counts for something right?

Good point. And if DB follows their past approach to mega-events, they may likely hold off until right after the next event is over, and then throw up a Discovery special pack that Monday.

If I recall right, they did exactly that immediately after the Klingon and Borg mega-events, offering a mix of all Klingons/Borg crew as a special pack on the Monday the last event ended (kinda remember some mix-up where they originally put Locutus in the special Borg pack, which caused an uproar so they removed him)

As much as I hate best chance of packs I hope the Burnahm one returns alongside the Discovery Mega Event pack thats coming. The Mega event pack is just going to be filled with a bunch of crew I have already FF from the event. So I hope both options are offered side by side.

Oh, hey. I just got a third star for my BO Dax from a voyage just now. It's still on the way back. I passed up her in a behold last week to take a 4th star for absolutely garbage Holo Barclay so I could popsicle him for all eternity. Now I sort of wish I took the third star from that behold and I'd have an FF BO Dax for the event start. Oh, well. I'll get my fourth after the event and 3/4 for an event crew isn't too shabby, either.

I'd rather off Harry or Sarek if it means we can get Dr. Culber in there, we need freakin' MED. We've been saying this for months now.

Aw. I was holding out for the now mythical expedition or at least something that wasn't a federation/klingon faction/galaxy, and for the main characters of the show I'm most excited about (Ripper the epic universe-leaping loveable Tardigrade who the show and its ethical dilemmas have been revolving around (ENG/SCI/SEC), MED, a useful version of Georgiou, MED, Burnham, MED, Culber (MED!), 3-skill (...MED) crew. Maybe we'll get lucky with a strong version of Sarek? Who randomly has some MED?).

I recognize that favourite characters are subjective - but for the game structure itself, the Klingon and especially Borg mega-events were more varied and imaginative. I'm happy with federation/klingon when they're not the only factions we do, and I'm happy with faction/galaxy when there are other types of events too. Can we have other types of events again? I love expedition (I'm a clicker!), especially hybrid/expedition, and including ship battles or even an all-out ship event could be interesting.

You should do so no matter what ... being a Faction event, a FE lvl 100 Blood Oath Jadzia will be able to help you out no matter what, especially if you manage to use a SEC (or SCI) shuttle boost.

Also going by form I would think that she's ranked reward (see the case of Marla McGivers and Orion Slaver ... where existing crew have not been part of the threshold rewards).

Diminished margin of utility.... an economic term, saying the more you use something (cough *galaxy/faction* events) the less it yeilds. We need less seen event types, or new event types... It is a law (of economics), and it helps your economic situation

And it makes sense, in this context. They want as many people as possible to have at least some STD crew in their mix. Having Dax as the ranked ensures that.

but the marginal utility of the "hey here's a weekend off, some crew slots and some chrons" event we had the one time is still VERY high
