So disappointed you guys placed the new 4* character in threshold rewards.
We have no way to compete and obtain a FF copy.
No way? There is an event portal pack where you can get the 4th copy.
That's the whole point of making the new crew the 3/4 rather than Dax. Encourage people to buy at least 1 pack to get that 4th star.
No
I have bought six packs in prior events and received the same character each time, then got 4 more copies at reward phase. Putting in a behold would encourage a single 10-pack purchase.
At least with galaxies we do not get stuck with a 3/4.
We should be able to compete and obtain 4/4 through play because in order to rank that high, you have invested heavily previously one way or the other. If I wanna go for the 5*, I'll buy a pack. Been burned to many times to ever buy another event pack.
I'm not the only one who doesn't buy packs anymore, especially event packs when you've already completed 1 character. 45% chance for the one you want is only the odds we think they are.
My experience is maybe 10% on a lucky day. Out of all the packs I've purchased, only 1 time have I ever got the card I wanted on first pull.
They are definitely weighted higher for existing characters. I'd even go so far to say if you have that guy frozen, it has a higher chance to drop again.
Show me some datamined data or data published by DB that proves otherwise.
I'll buy packs when they are fair. Events should have the ability to complete new cards competitively. Only 1000 or so players will receive anyway, the rest can buy packs.
We can place #1 and still not have a FF card. Ironically, you have to buy to rank (and then obtain duplicates), so I fail to see how packs will not be purchased.
Let me put it this way, to place #1, you have to have immortal event cards, including the 5*. To do this, you must buy the $100 pack as well as numerous other event packs. When you "win" you get duplicates of the exact same 5* card. Competing in this game is for comparing e-peen size only. You do not get anything you already did not buy.
Same is true with putting new cards in ranked rewards with existing in threshold. You have to buy to win, but what did you win? The same cards...
No, this is a case of the 3-stooges in back coming up with ludicrous reward tables. It truly is fascinating people are defending the idiocracy.
An event behold will encourage pack purchases. Giving us a 3/4 doesn't encourage me to but, it disappoints me and discourages any future buys.
You can pretend I'm alone on this, but the game is in a downward spiral.
Giving us a 3/4 doesn't encourage me to but, it disappoints me and discourages any future buys.
Go check the threads on event packs where people have pulled multiple packs trying to get a Sarek. All it takes is one person to try two packs for every person who abstains and it's a wash.
But if you're not buying packs because of the chance of getting something you don't need then congratulations - you've won. Many people aren't always so disciplined.
I also have to admit when I look at James Frain's interpretation of Sarek, this part of me keeps seeing Ferdinand. I keep waiting for him to shoot someone and engage in questionable sexual practices.
Now I have a sudden urge to see Tatiana Maslany join the cast of DSC season 2. She'd make a great Bajoran or Trill... or pretty much anything.
Could you please continue the petty bickering? I find it most intriguing. ~ Data, ST:TNG "Haven"
Re: threshold reward
It is not a reduction or a mistake.
The reward for that threshold is supposed to be an item equippable to the threshold reward crew, in the final rank (90-100).
And is the whole 2x 4* trainers at 60K not a mistake either? I mean I know you guys treat trainers in the game as if they have a lot of value (& realize they're in short supply for players at a certain stage of the game), but that seems pretty stingy to me.
I'll not be able to full star the new Sarek but that's fine I have Old Sarek. And a billion Daxes. Including full starring the new one.

I'm one of the guys who are happy for even 3* trainers on Voyages, but this one is just plain products of grass conversion made by male Bos Taurus.

The problem is that the people who could actually use those trainers probably don’t have the crew to get that high to even collect them.
My guess, that should have been the 4* IDIC and the one at 150K should have been the outfit. They didn’t catch it during whatever QA they say they do and then double downed on the mistake claiming it as planned.

Not going to pretend you are alone on this, but I have seen this same exact thread back and forth for over a year on almost (if not all) pure faction events.
If the 3/4 threshold was the death spiral for the game it'd be long dead by now.
I'm good with the event i only have 1 point to complain :
Tilly is bonus crew thats awesome so i leveled my second copy at 2/5* . But why did you dissmissed all the enginiering nodes at all 3 factions ? So only a 5/5* Tilly might be usefull with second skill science . But useless at fusions below 5/5* cause her Main skill enginiering doesnt appear at event transmissions.
I see a lot of medic nodes which no event crew match really and 0 enginiering nodes looks like a Bad event preparation at all .

Actually some bonus crew have med. Multiple Ezris. But I get your point and I agree with it for the most part. There are other Eng bonus crew (secondary skill) in the Daxes as well that could have benefitted if you were not good or lucky enough to have the Tilmeister.

That sounds like the perfect description of Shan "Spicer". Accept whatever is put out and double down claiming everything is correct/works as planned.

I'm not crazy about the med slots, but I'm happy that there's no eng. I think the loss of Tily's eng is more than made up for by being able to use Dax for sci instead of eng.
I have seen a lot of good points in this thread and agree with a lot of them. I think the lesson is that either DB has not figured out that a Mega Event needs to end with a bang OR Mega Events are so stressful on players that "normal" DB behavior leaves us feeling let down.
Odd, when I just ran my last shuttles, for some reason my immortalized Amb. Spock and 4/5/90 T'Kuvma wouldn't show up to select for slots (confirmed there were no outstanding shuttles or voyages), but the squad's shared T'Kuvma was there.
Comments
They pushed a hotfix through so you might have to restart the game. My shuttles are out so I cannot confirm it, but they said it is fixed.
The outrage should be the lack of a security/science combo or security/engineering. I've never seen a featured character so useless as blood oath.
But don't worry, plenty of medical slots....

If you're correct, then data will bear out that a change is needed to maintain profitability.
Sure glad I unfroze all those Jadzias. Jerks.
Yeah, too bad you can't use them in another slot, like science. Or even diplomacy. Or science and diplomacy.
