Diminished margin of utility.... an economic term, saying the more you use something (cough *galaxy/faction* events) the less it yeilds. We need less seen event types, or new event types... It is a law (of economics), and it helps your economic situation
but the marginal utility of the "hey here's a weekend off, some crew slots and some chrons" event we had the one time is still VERY high
nooooooooo not another faction!
when will my expeditions return from the Dominion War.
Ah well, I'll probably be busy playing Wolfenstein II anyways to do more than my usual 8 shuttles per day.

Well color me disappointed. Not that I'm enamored with Expeditions, but they're a good change of pace. And ending the Mega Event without a threshold 4/4 is sad.
I am very happy it is faction and not expedition. Expeds require way too much button pushing. It will be very disappointing if Michael Burnham isnt in any of the events. She is the main character of the show and she was only in a "best chance" pack.
I hope not to see any full expedition events - expedition is definitely too much clicking to do for a whole event - but I do like some expedition. Hybrid faction/expedition or expedition/faction would be my preference - half an event is, for me, about the right amount of button-pushing without being excessive.
I've had my best top 15 finishes with Expeditions.... But 3 to 4 hours a day of non stop tapping is just bad! Xmas last year still gives me nightmares. I hope a new type comes out to atleast give variety.
That is a great idea! We don't get to use our ships all that much. DB needs to think of a good way to do this though. Just the regular type battle won't be too exciting.
Admiral of the Haus of GaghGagh, Starbase level 94, we are not accepting members at this time.
Captain of the voyage vessels: Queen of Bashir, Landsknecht, and Sunspear, the first luxury starship cruiseliners.
Amenities include wifi, fully-functioning holodecks, a full-service bar, 3 party decks, a Trill spa, and a business centre.
Fun fact: The ships are propelled by bouncy castle technology.
An event, just based on fighting and destroying ships? Truly fits the spirit of Star Trek, NOT!
There was an aweful lot of it particularly in later Deep Space Nine. However, tt should be noted that the battles never really won the war. Odo did with compassion.

Seriously???
And as we all know, supply missions have little to no clicking at all. Expeditions continue the spirit of the normal gameplay for crying out loud. Supply missions are just a more frustrating version of equipping your crew at the COST of not being able to equip them if you decide event is more important. And if you have them at the same frequency, it's hard to refresh your chrons for it especially if you have little to no access to dil or money for recharges. Expeditions you don't really need to spend money at all and give fair chance to everyone thru the sheer nature of the tickets and an easier way of seeing how event crew affects your chances.
Expeditions feel much more Trek-y too than supply missions. There's more story too. There is a hideous lack of story in galaxy and faction events compared to normal gameplay and expeditions.
Gods forbid we have button pushing in a mobile game.

I think he's stating that Galaxy's have Warp 10, so can skip a lot. Odd though as even the crafting is a lot of tapping.

A large component of this game is the Battle Arena. You could have a ship battle event be simulated battles like in TNG ep Peak Performance. Or have it where it is a hybrid event and in the faction event half all other options but war are explored. As stated by others there have been wars in Deep Space Nine and in Discovery and ship battles in every star trek. When possible war should be avoided but sometimes you face an evil so profound that you must oppose it with all means at your disposal.
Need something new, all the events are old, like a 20yo going to a singles group and finding 50yo's we need some new blood the event party is turning into a old timers club.... 20's music anyone?
Rather fortunate to of received a BO Dax in my sorrytons pull! Been a Faction event though will mean no community rewards and only a max of 3/4* ST:D crew for f2p's

sure if you want to go 10 at a time which gives you less ability to keep your chrons spent at a reasonable time and give it time to recharge.
But even then, the fact you are doing 10 at a time isn't an argument for galaxy being a better option. Especially if you're a newer player. You do, after all, need to have 3* in those missions and if you're newer and constantly slammed by galaxy events, without the help of the kits, it really isn't conducive to being open to all and also not having fewer taps. If anything, you have even MORE taps.
Either way, I will shout from the heavens when we get another expedition because my chrons are hurting and thus my ability to equip any/all new chars.

Disappointed it's a vanilla faction for the finale, was expecting half expedition.
Something new would be nice. Like a gauntlet event. Say storywise a final push against the Klingons. Discovery crew gets bonus points or plus % on rolls. Refreshes every 4hours so it's a bit less taxing than shuttles. Might be interesting...
I'm excited that Sarek was not included in the 3 consecutive galaxy events. Now I have a shot at my most wanted character.
Not me, galaxy events are currently the only event type I can consistently hit all the threshold rewards. I can't get anywhere near half way on faction events.

Keep working at it. If you level your characters instead of wasting chrons on galaxy, you will certainly find more success overall.

I second the emotion on this one. It took time, but as I spent more time building crew, particularly main cast crew I started seeing a major difference in Faction events. Been playing about a year and have a crap ton of Daxes so I think this time will pay off for me. Galaxies are short term spend all the chrons and not advance crew moments. I enjoy them as well, in some respects, but I also do a lot better now in Galaxies now that I have built up bonus crew for almost every main cast crew possibility without as big of a chron outlay.

I thought that was a midweek shuttle count event.

But only as a last minute change as the intended character had IP issues.
princess jadzia should be counting as well
