Lol I remember doing Family Tree with only 1* Tuvok as bonus crew and really not knowing what I was doing...
Factions... yeah they were overwhelming to start with as well.
I was counseled by some nice people here on progression tho. Not the snarky ones... (well they weren't snarky then lol.)
I remember when leveling up the 2* Paris was significant for helping in that first event. I only got 2/4 from threshold and had no shot at the 4* in rank(was the same 4* at that point). Events were never easy for some of us, and I'd argue the dumbing down of events(see expedition changes and skirmish events) has been to the detriment of the game.
I remember my early events, just over a year-and-a-half ago, and they were a lot of fun. If people aren't big gamers, especially RPG type games, I could understand how a slow and methodical approach to improving might turn some people away. However, for me anyway, it all came to setting goals and trusting that my ability to compete at higher levels would come in time.
I remember first trying to win a copy of the ranked 3* crew, then a FF 3* crew, then a copy of the 4* crew, etc... Aside from rank, I remember being so satisfied hitting the 70k threshold reward, which gave me 2 pieces is mid-ranked equipment for my newly acquired 2/4* (or 3/4* in galaxy events) crew.
I think the addition of voyages (chrons, trainers, common equipment and 1-3* crew), as well as the change to get trainers and some equipment from failed shuttle missions, make the learning curve much easier for newer players.
I'm looking forward to this event, since I'll have 28 FF/FE 4*/5* event crew... though I'm sure many people will have more than enough event crew to fill every seat, so it could very well be highly competitive for both top-100 and top-1000. Unfortunately, this is one event that a newer player is completely out of luck on, due to the sheer number of good secondary event crew from past events like the mirror mega!
I’m quite happy with this event because I have Mirror Phlox and Emperor Georgiou who need 600 Terran Emblams each to build legendary Terran Emblems that don’t add any stats. So hopefully I will get some from shuttles.
I can't remember when the Han Solo movie came out in relation to the premier of Discovery, but that may have driven the change.
I never knew about this, but after reading your post I wish they hadn't changed it.[/quote]
Solo came out at the end of May of this year. Discovery season 1 was already over by then.
The art was made too small since the lines are really rigid and not good at all... My own opinion.
EDIT: I bet the avatar in game is going to be really blurry like a few others that were made too small and then expected to be rendered in a larger format just fine. Start big and then go small instead of the other way around. Also, why is Illustrator or a similar program that can smooth lines out not being used? On my desktop this looks worse than on my phone.
There are three ways to do something; the right way, the wrong way, and the Janeway.
Hand looks a bit wonky and if we're being honest something feels a bit off in general (I'm not good at life drawing so I couldn't say what), but I'll try my luck with a few packs for Hoshi - I like her expression, and that's what's going to show up in the icon view. Keiko looks pretty good to me, I just hope I don't wind up with too many extras of her and K'Ehleyr along the way.
whats with that black line between hoshi's pants and red shirt? like it was done with a giant black crayon. I like the look of their faces though, especially keiko. looks like them.
Keiko looks good but Sato’s head is wrong for her body. Almost like someone else separately drew the head and then pasted it onto the body.
I have a theory that this is part of the artists' workflow, since the heads have more than once seemed too big for the body. But the art itself is quite good, I think. Seeing how bad some of our recent artwork has been, I'm very happy with these.
Could you please continue the petty bickering? I find it most intriguing. ~ Data, ST:TNG "Haven"
I like them both. If Hoshi has good stats I'll go for her. Keiko looks fab as expected and I really hope her stats are good because I want her permanently on my crew.

"Miiii-iiiiiiiiiilessssss!"
Seconded. Too bad I can't toss her into the replicator for one of Falcon O'Brien's items.

Here's one that shows more of the art.
I'm sure someone here will find the picture from whatever episode that belongs to and post them together.
That was fast.
Thanks.
Hoping they both have 3 stats. I kinda expect Hoshi to be 2 stat with one decent base score.

Btw, from professor to Enterprise was really a bad career move. From legendary to two stars ;-)
I agree! I’m all in this event!
Agreer I think. But that is quite something to expect: in my view Pah-Wraith Keiko is the stuff of nightmares ;-)
