And, just throwing this out there...but, isn't a Captain who's under the influence of an alien power still a Starfleet Captain??? Even if that alien influence is the Borg?
Wow, this event seems very daunting. I have none of the event crew and only a handful of captains with the small bonus, of which two of them are only rares. Not 100% certain I currently have enough to even send out 1 crew per shuttle.
All the more reason I am getting increasingly frustrated that the event crew packs come out on Wednesday, I really, REALLY, REALLY wish they came out on Tuesday so people could buy them and work on the event crew before the event starts. As it is I'm almost always buying these packs and then doing a mad scramble Wednesday evening each week to build up event crew before Thursday morning.

I used to always feel the same way. Then I slowly got a better crew. You'll be there. Remember also that the majority of the frequent posters here have been doing this for a LONG time. The majority of players are just like you.

Well the good news is that any VP earned in the Faction phase is mostly inconsequential — and you can probably clear thresholds just fine without any event crew in phase two.

My crew isn't stellar either, so don't go for ranks, gather what points you can during the shuttle phase (it saves you chronitons later), FE Sulu ASAP once you get him and fuse him for the galaxy part to save even more chronitons. At the end of the threshold, you have a new FF/FE 4* to add to your collection and when they do a rerun next year you'll have him, unless they realise Sulu is a main cast character and make more events with him in the meantime.
He held the rank of Captain, but wasn't a ship's captain so I guess it depends on how they're looking at things.
Another version of Scotty, after achieving the rank of captain, but who also never commanded a starship, is listed as bonus crew for the event: Captain Scott. So Professor Scott also should receive the bonus. Sorry I missed this in my earlier posts as it looks like DB may have read a couple of them.
the solution to this, of course, is to make a movie Captain Montgomery Scott who has mega ENG SEC and CMD and looks like this
er...Why is Professor Scott not there? he is just Captain Scott playing a role, right? Similar to Detective Dixon Hill is just Captain Picard playing a role.
Captain Q is debatable, but still portrayed in the game as a Starfleet Captain.
150k for Fraiser. :-) Guess I need to go all in vs just needing the typical 100k for the 5*.
i just thougt the same. neither in need for sulu and/or harriman. Just a clear catch the gold and out. 'cause the top 1000 in a hybrid event is out of my league, but now i have to play at least to 150k, because i wanna add a star to Frazier Crane...

Scotty was retired from starfleet by this time.
What Star Trek have you (not) been watching? Professor Scott/Captain Scott is from ST:IV The Voyage Home. When they are on the HMS Bounty, he had just sabotaged the Excelsior as Captain Scott, still active, nowhere near retired.

No, he was not retired. When Captain Scott assumed the undercover role of Professor Scott on Earth in the 1980's, he was a Starfleeet officer (who had gone rogue in the previous film by helping Admiral Kirk steel the Enterprise), but he was not yet retired. At the end of the film, due to saving the planet Earth in the 23rd Century, all charges against Captain Scott were summarily dismissed. He continued to serve in Starfleet, as Captain of Engineering on the Enterprise-A, at least through the events in orbit of Khitomer.
How did we play the game until this month? Nobody tried to get in top 1k because we didn't know if the Picard we get will be used next week or 4 months later. The dark ages! 😁
I wonder why nobody ask for the future collections. I don't want to airlock the next 5* Wesley FF/FE Dip 200 (1-10) Sci 189 (2-4) who will unlock the first 6* Wesley with 6 skills.
Hey now...don’t give DB any ideas, or we’ll really end up with this:
Legendary crew at the end of the threshold is a great idea! Now I could go for him if I really want or at the same time ignore him instead of airlocking him.

They swapped Sulu for Harriman, which is one of the worst super rare cards, so it's entirely reasonable not to bother with the event entirely if you're not 100% sure you can be top 1000. Airlocking Bateson seems to be the reasonable thing to do unless:
- you plan to open many packs to FF him
- plan to pick him over other characters in beholds
- you plan to invest 200k honor to FF him.
If you don't, then he's airlock material, unless you really want a com/dip/sec card with no event potential, underwhelming stats and no useful trait.

Wait, you're saying "casual" isn't a useful trait? I mean, it comes up so often in the game. /S
I had a behold on Tuesday in which I opted NOT to take Bateson, even knowing (assuming) we would be getting him in threshold this weekend. Took my 3rd star for Dress Uniform Scotty instead, 'cause I much prefer Scotty to I'm-in-Star-Trek-for-7-seconds Bateson.
So Shan, you've told us there were changes to the list posted on Friday (first post in this thread was supposed to have been edited to that effect), but the list posted in the "official" announcement today looks to be a copy and paste of the original list not the one that takes in to account the changes made to the list in this thread.
My question is: will this be the event where I finally use my 2/5 Captain Scott aka the worst legendary in the game? Other than like the 50th mission in an expedition ticket.

Captain Sulu
John Harriman
ECH Doctor
So, why not Locutus too? Just sayin'...
Sulu and Harriman are named event crew. That list is for variants (2x bonus).
ECH technically isn't a Starfleet Captain. There's nobody onboard Voyager that can bestow that rank.

In the mirror universe crew deposed or killed superiors and assumed their post. Archer deposes Forrest, and so becomes captain.
Especially by the time he gets that uniform, as he is the de facto captain of the Defiant.
