Alright I got it. A Cargo Bay. For storage of any item over 1000. If your citation ends up in there you can get it back with merits. If nothing useful goes in there then no harm no foul
That has not changed and is unlikely to change. But we will look at what improvements we could do for the inventory issues.
Oh, I don't know... maybe make inventory management actually a thing? Update the inventory window so that I can actually sort things, search for things, better categorization. Then if I could use the replicator at will rather than having to have a crew with an empty item slot to use it. Wouldn't that be a novel idea? I could trash the items I don't need into the replicator. Or some kind of matter reclamation unit that breaks items down into merits so that I can essentially "vendor" items away like in practically any other game with an inventory system.
Do you have any idea how long it takes to clean out an inventory? HOURS. It takes a couple of hours to go through and identify items, select them as replicator fuel (because there are a ridiculous number of look-alike items and no easy way to see them by name) and repeat this until you've sorted through all 1000 items in your inventory. And in the end I only put 80-100 items in as fuel so that my inventory is completely full again in a couple of weeks so I have to do it all over again. YAY!
You keep saying you're looking into improvements. There are a hundred ways you can improve the inventory system. You have implemented exactly ZERO of them since the game launched. I have little faith in your assertions at this point.

I have always referred to "inventory" as the "Cargo Bay". Seemed like an apt euphemism. Too bad we can't have a Starbase Cargo Bay to share stuff, or at least eject it from our personal inventory.

That would help with leveling crew but no one can have my galaxy items
I just got hit with this today. Lost two Legendary Cites, and probably some other stuff I don't even know about. I'm working with CS to get them restored.
Any updates on when the inventory system is going to be addressed? Even a simple warning that you are near inventory capacity would be fine. I had no idea I was even close to the inventory cap until I went to cite a 5* crew only to find I couldn't...
Shan, 14 months ago you indicated that the change to the inventory system was a first pass and that you (DB) needed to work on it more "to revisit and improve how overflow is surfaced to you, and how to handle it" yet as far as I know nothing has been changed or addressed. It seems like this has all slipped by the wayside and I'm wondering if we can expect any changes to this soon (either an actual overhaul or a better way to manage what we have)?
It's now been over two years since this started. Many people are still unaware of this 'feature'/issue and losing items. Don't you think it's about time something was done (even if it's just the long asked for warning message)?

1) An info tip in the inventory area that explains the cap and warns what happens when going over.
2) An easy method to remove items (delete them, sell them, whatever. there needs to be something besides the replicator)
3) A pop-up warning when you reach the limit (this should pop-up every time you load the game until you're back under the cap)

Glad to hear it. Thanks
