I just started when Locutus was ending so I haven't gotten him yet but managed 5 Guinans and 3 Caretakers after about 14000 rounds. Will probably use a citation on Caretaker since he is such a good voyage crew member too.
I got 7 Caretakers, 4 Guinans and 2 Locutus. I thought about making a duplicate of him but I didn't want to waste the crew space. I figure there will be a reasonable Gauntlet competitor to him some day. For Voyages I have Rufo, Degra and Leonardo to solidify my roster. RAF O'Brien is the next 5* I plan on citing.
1 Caretaker here (never know though, might get another before his demise). I was lucky with Guinan and received 3 copies of her. Locutus is a sad story as I didn't play the gauntlet when he was available so I never received a copy of him. Now I'm just trying to do what I can to get him in the gauntlet achievement...only 8,875 more rounds to go! "I think I can, I think I can"
3 Locutus (2 via gauntlet, 1 via pack), 2 Guinan (both gauntlet), 4 Caretaker (all gauntlet).
I'm at 19,650 rounds, so I will be getting Locutus #4 very soon. Trying to decide if using a citation on him is the best use of 50K honor. He'll help me finish 2 collections (Borg & Diplomat), so there's a couple of 1% stat boosts to consider...
Big ol' zero, but that's fine - if it weren't a pilot and setting up the series I'd consider 'Caretaker' pretty forgettable (seriously, my mental image of Banjo Man is actually Boothby, just because my brain can't be bothered remembering him and substitutes the first 'random old dude in Star Trek' that comes to mind). If it were the space jellyfish version that'd at least have novelty going for it, but Banjo Man's just nothing to me - if I'd got him I wouldn't quite airlock him out of spite, but I've got quite a crowd of unlevelled 1/5s sitting around, and if I did have him and crew space became an issue, he'd be out in space so fast Dario Argento would feel it. Even, if I had him, ahead of 23rd Century Martok, because even if he does look ridiculous, he's still Martok.
Not happy that this will be the only way to get the only villain in Star Trek history to permanently kill off a main character.
Dukat. Those ones in the final episode of Enterprise. Soran. The creature they locked up and experimented on in Discovery.
I wouldn't hold "Ripper" to the same level, as Landry wasn't really a main character, was just in a couple episodes. We could list a lot of recurring characters who were killed off from DS9, Voyager, Enterprise, and Discovery, though.
I would add Mirror Georgie for killing Lorca to this list. He was definitely a core cast member.
My 8-Point STT Strategy:
1. Voyage.
2. Have fun. If something isn't fun, don't do it.
3. Only pursue characters I care about.
4. Contribute to the fleet.
5. No more spending beyond monthly cards.
6. Have fun.
7. Voyage.
8. Have fun!
To be fair, I’d argue Caretaker isn’t iconic either
Caretaker was a pivotal plot point to actual create Voyager as a series. Armus was a plot point created to release Denise from her contract. LOL
This. I fail to see how Armus is iconic, apart from being iconically bad (not in the evil sense). Yet The Caretaker was an integral part of Voyager and an epic character who portrayed himself as another iconic character: Boothby.
As an example of an iconic character who I would have preferred, Sisko as The Emissary would have had people playing the gauntlet like crazy, and would have excited the vast majority of players. But then again, maybe DB just wanted to sideline the gauntlet so they didn't have to work on a revamp.

Compared to the mechanisms in several other series, I wouldn't say that the caretaker was that much more than Armus. TNG, DS9, Enterprise, and Discovery all opened with antagonists or foils which played significant roles through the rest of series. The caretaker was crucial, but only served to establish the plot of Voyager and was barely revisited in concept but what, three more times in seven years?

It was an 8472 who masqueraded as Boothby.

4 Caretakers. Was hoping to get a 5th just to finish him off.
Very not looking forward to Armus. Bad choice, and not even new useful stats since I have his mirrors. And his stats make no sense. Whatever, won't be trying to win him for the next 6 months, just using the gauntlet for a merit farm.

It's a known bug with the forums. It takes a 0 option as literally nothing, and will leave it off. If you type out "Zero" it works though.
For reference, I'm sitting at 9435 gauntlet round played, I'd say over 90% of them were after Caretaker was released.

Armus though, I'm keen on.
I have 0 Caretakers. Frankly the complete lack of getting him turned me off to the gauntlet for a while. It became disheartening and boring.
I got two Locutus and one Guinan. The guantlet has not been too kind to me so far

I dunno. Armus is just so meh.

I'm just amazed at how many dedicated gauntlet players haven't received a single copy, it seems so unfair.

Not sure what I would do if over the coming few days I were to get The Caretaker a 6th time prior to his departure from The Gauntlet …
