I feel like I've definitely had more than 36 shuttle successes and yet my VP is still stuck on 2750.
Make sure you tell support that you feel that you've had more successes.
Sisko: What are you gonna learn in the next few months that you haven't already learned in the last 300 years?
Ezri Dax: Oh, how to keep from breaking into tears for no reason...
Why are there so many science and engineering seats for an event that features Kirk, Troi and Apollo? Is there a way of checking what kind of missions were available for this event the first time?

There is one bright side to all this apathy. A lot of honor is available if, like me, you have all of the re-run event crew FF. Depending on your exact finishing spot, you should bank well over 2000 honor. Hitting 250k and airlocking the threshold rewards is 2200 alone.

I don’t understand the pitchforks. It’s a re-run, guys. Not that big a deal.
Yes, putting Goddess Troi at 400k VPs puts her out of reach of a lot more players than if they’d put her at 100k, but is that really worth such anger? I don’t have her either, and will be working to get her, but let’s be honest: her stats at one or two stars are unimpressive, even for most players who could get to 100k VPs. So, for most of us, if we get her, she’ll be taking up a crew slot with far worse stats that other Troi versions, like Mintakan (that far more of us were able to fully fuse). Some might be tempted even to airlock her. Not a huge loss.
I had GoE Troi 1/5 sitting around at level 1 for quite some time. She was a fixture of my shuttle fail strategy. Then i leveled her up for this event, mostly in anticipation of getting a second copy.
So she was a mega resource sink to level, not all that useful in the event, there's 0% chance I'll get a second copy, and she's no longer a sure thing to fail shuttles with.
Am I angry about this? Not particularly.
I am deeply nonplussed, however. So tired of the constant goal post moving, lack of communication, and player unfriendly changes/game mechanics. It shouldn't come as a surprise that lots of people reach the straw that broke the camel's back with every disappointment like this. This is a game full of them, and the little things start to add up over time.

Several rare DIP/MED seats have been added to the rerun, presumably for players that already have her. If you want to put her to non-fail use, now may be time. :-)
400000 or 100000 for those of us who play it through just doesn't matter. But I gotta say 400000 is s bit much. I'm sure there is s reason for this but just as someone decided to change up the recipe for Bob Evans sausage gravy... it just don't taste the same. Leave well enough alone. Incorporate different game play, but leave some things the same.
Trying to equip and level up Apollo and Kirk has completely killed what little hope/happiness I had managed to restore since this afternoon. I see no reason to even try on this event. I paid money to buy packs for this event to try and enjoy it, and then they need so many ancient films, science experiments, etc that I cannot get them above level 50 before the event starts. I mean seriously, what is the point?! By the time I get either of them up to 100 the event will be half over. And of course none of the items needed are available from either of the factions featured in this event! I see no reason to participate, and if I'm not participating in this event, what is the point of any of this? I gave myself permission to stop playing this game this afternoon; I was expecting that to sting but all I felt was relief. I'm not sure I can put that toothpaste back in the tube.
On hiatus, possibly forever.
I just wanted to point out for people learning to plan for events, one element of this message could be learned from. All events are announced a week in advance. While I can understand it's frustrating that none of the event crew's faction items are included in the required event shuttles (I share that frustration), I want to point out a learning opportunity here. If you are a regular on the forum, or your fleet officers are doing a good job, you should have ready access to know of the event crew 1 week in advance.
Rather than working on leveling other crew, you can use this information to look up the event crew (Apollo in this case) equipment and faction requirements in advance and begin running the appropriate shuttles (AND the daily cadet missions) to stockpile the faction items you need in advance. They don't even need to be in your crew yet for you to gather the faction items you need. Visit the "STT Crew Cost Finder" website tool, review the total faction items needed for that crew member, and compare to your stash. Even for new events if you want to plan for a new crewmember you can make an educated guess, such as farming federation shuttles for federation crew like spock, or dominion shuttles for dominion crew before the start of the dominion mega, etc.
I sometimes forget to plan for event crew like this, but it is very comforting knowing you're all set for rapid levelling of event crew to help you be prepared once it starts.
You don't know what new crew will have for stats, and thus probable items ahead of time. You no longer know at what threshold things and what items will appear. You don't know for sure (easier with reruns to guess) who's threshold and who's ranked.
No, there's only so much preplanning and pre-prep you can do. And that only goes so far for motivation when goalposts are moved and player frustration is a clear priority.
24 hours in and I'm at almost exactly 100k with normal faction play. Not worried about clearing it now with 4k shuttles from here on out. Will be a bit disappointed that I won't add a star to Troi for the bulk of the event.
I hope DB and Tilting Point are still calibrating the right VP level for rerun ledgends. I don't know what the number should be, but I can see 100k being too easy, and 400k is a stretch. Perhaps 250k?

iampicard pulls equipment info directly from DB. I’m already pre-farming cadet missions for Mountaineer Spock items even though not yet released.

I disagree. While their stats will probably skew their equipment somewhat, their core character typically always has some element of character-based Faction requirements, such as IDICs for vulcans, maquis encryption and novels for maquis crew, bajoran phasers and earrings for bajoran crew, klingon house crests and/or gagh for klingons, etc etc. I'm willing to bet that next week's chakotay for example will need at least SOME maquis components, with some unexpected potential elements due to his stats. So you can farm Maquis components, and have all of your daily replications to cover anything unexpected. If you have ZERO of common items like holoprojectors, ancient film, science/medical experiments, by all means get a couple of each from cadet missions (and ad-warping them). With some planning, I find it unlikely you could get totally stuck at a lvl50 crew unless you're a fairly new player and don't have a lot of resources for replicating or a small number of daily replications.

Greedy DB possibly just lost a friendly, helpful and very active player who spent real money on the game.
This is really frustrating.
Do any DB staff actually play this game?
Play the game? I don't think any of them ever actually WATCHED an episode of any series........
Founding ADM - PoF family of fleets (POF, POF2 & POF3) - Dear TP: Non sequitur. Your facts are uncoordinated.

It depends on why they are putting them in the rewards table to begin with. If it's as an encouragement to newer players, it needs to stay in the 100K range. If it's some sort of reward for established players, then something higher might be more reasonable. If the goal is to sell DYC's for it, the target needs to be lower than 400K, since only the pure collectors will have a reason to buy them at that vp level.
The changing rewards table, money grab on shuttles, etc. don't bother/worry me half as much as the fact that the way DB is running the game now, a lot of big players seem to be walking away. I'm worried that if that trend continues, the game won't be profitable anymore, and if it's not profitable anymore... The plug will have to be pulled. Which seems a bit of a waste of the money that Tilting Point pumped into it.
The high end thresholds arent meant for nubnubs or casuals, they are aimed at the hard pushing folks who cant quite make it into the top1k (yet).
That said it would have been better if they kept one copy of the old gold at the previous lower vp trheshold and merely added one more at the top...
It doenst really affect me, im on a pace thatll put me close to 500k at the end. *shrugs*
I've been thinking the same thing, about the expanded rewards both increasing competition for a top-1000 finish, while providing a more substantial consolation prize for those that finish just outside that 1k threshold. Of course, all that makes it a potentially big cash-grab for DB, so win-win in their mind?

In their mind. But there are plenty of people that are no longer finding events rewarding or enjoyable. Without victories and clear advancement, the increased difficulty just drives away players, thus sales. And slows and discourages new players, thus sales.
I guess we'll see just how glutenous for punishment this community is.

That was my initial reaction, but the more I thought about it, the more knee-jerk it seemed.
How is it any different from the progression every new player goes through already? I remember striving to hit 70k points to get the free 3*/4* equipment, then high enough to get the 3rd copy of the new 4* crew (4th copy in a galaxy/hybrid), then high enough to clear thresholds to get the free 5* equipment.
Factions have been pretty dull for me for quite some time, as I typically clear threshold now within the first 48-hours. Don't get me wrong, after playing this game for nearly 2 years, factions have been my easiest event for a guaranteed new 5* for a long time. However, with no community awards and thresholds being so quick and easy to clear, the back half of the event has become totally anticlimactic.
I like the new rewards, as it gives every player several new thresholds to strive for. They aren't meant to be easy for everybody. They are supposed to be a new layer of challenges for longer-term players, who have the quality and depth of crew to make the old reward structure too easy.
First it was 100k, then 150k. Now it's 400k. Reminds me of how I'd play Rollercoaster Tycoon by continually jacking up the price of the concessions until I reached the point people wouldn't pay. Then I'd back the price down a tiny bit and rake in the cash.

By percentages, one event crew isn't going to make much of a difference in a faction event.
I can look forward to more 65% crit GoE gauntlets though, so that's something.
Didn't make even the Threshold in the last faction event and this one the bar was raised even higher?
Wouldn't even know why I should ever use a extra shuttle token with the abysmal shuttle success rate.
Last event 4 overnight 75%+ shuttles with doublers came back and failed. Yeah, I know, RNG and that...

Kidding aside, we’ve all fat-fingered a button or mixed up a boost from time to time. Don’t beat yourself up too much!
Here are the first run’s missions

Thanks.
I guess these missions always sucked lol.
Actually, the first run was much better. 10 available shuttle per faction and almost every single shuttle was either two or three seaters.

Mirror Troi, Durango Troi (even at only 2 stars) and Bridge Officer Troi are keeping my hopes alive this weekend.
