Well, there is an outage of some kind. But how can the game be affected exklusively while i am still able to post here? I mean this should also not be possible if it was an overseas issue? But anyway- thanks for the info, Shan!
I’m fairly sure the forums are held on a different server, if that’s what you mean?
The internet provider DB use to their US server seems to have poor links to Europe. Ie this provider only has access to perhaps 1 or 2 “pipes” to send data over the Atlantic. Switch provider to one that can use more pipes, problem shouldn’t occur any more.
[edit - switched to pipe analogy, makes more sense than roads]
Just for reference, I can connect completely fine to all other US-based games/websites. So it is not a universal/global internet issue, but one isolated to the specific arrangement DB (and probably some other games or services running on the same server platform/environment).
That’s quite important, because it’s proof that the issue is very likely to be within DB’s control (cough cough change to a better connectivity provider cough cough).

Same here, UK based, tried Vodafone 4g and wifi, and through Steam on the laptop on the wifi, hangs at Activiating Combadge or Comunicating with starfleet. All other websites and services I've tried, including these forums, are working as expected.
This is not something on our end.
I see that there is a nationwide Centurylink outage, this is impacting internet routing.
Shan, with all due respect, Centurylink appear to be a home user ISP in America only?
Most (but not all) issues being reported here and elsewhere are Europe based. This needs a top tier engineer pronto - What are the status dashboards of your server hosts showing? What is the status of the peering routes that your connectivity provider use to route data to other continents?
This is all absolutely within DB’s control to at least look into properly. Go ahead and please prove me wrong when I repeatedly state this is a DB responsibility, but do it with real info not just your hunch please!

Centurylink here, ALL other sites I can think to try work. Game works on VPN. So you're definitely right.
Also in Europe. Waited several minutes and finally got into the game, but it's over a minute lag to open each shuttle mission. Other games are working fine.
Got in briefly, but everything froze and kicked me out.
Cannot log in now.
Game's been unavailable for nearly an hour for me..
I'm presuming there will be some outage compensation heading out...
They are not a home user ISP only but I understand where you are coming from, like I said I am bringing it up to our Ops Team.
Thanks Shan. It's all very frustrating. As here in the UK I have tried all different types of devise and it does not work.
In Europe we seem to have a disadvantage as we struggle to get to the high level shuttles before needing to get to bed (or at least I do) and this just means I might as well right off this event before I start at this rate!

I can use all of my other online games, browse forums, visit web sites, get email etc.
The only thing I can not do is access Timelines. This appears to be a Timelines only issue to me
