On the advanced setting, is there a risk with setting the # of best active crew to keep higher than 10? I have 260 slots with over 1/2 of them FFFE 4* and I'd like to make sure than I am freezing the weakest of the weak.
For some odd reason, I'm seeing Lieutenant Commander Saru (**) and not, I assume, First Officer Saru (****) as being required to complete Distress Cal - Infinity lM5 Starved for Attention.
You are correct sir. There is an error in the formula in STATS JO:JO that points to DATA!E70 which does not exist. Changing this to DATA!E69 fixes it.
Thanks both, well spotted. The issue has been fixed and both Zora's Invitation and Starved for Attention should now have the correct recommendations again.

There is no major risk, although it will not work properly without disabling the data validation on that particular cell on the Advanced Settings sheet, and adding an equal amount of empty cells on the Data tab below G12:M12.
The Data tab currently only has 10 rows available for listing the Base max crew; setting a higher value will likely result in an error and those lists not working at all unless you add enough empty cells for those lists to contain whatever you set in Advanced Settings.
Hey @Leshy, in the Missions tab and the Distress Call- Infinity mission, is Mudd's Enterprise (the final node) missing or have I messed up my copy of the doc?

It's missing. You can always open the original at the beginning of the thread to compare.
Adding new crew yourself is possible but pretty difficult and requires unhiding sheets, I would not try it without advanced spreadsheet knowledge. I would wait for the author to apply updates. He usually adds new crew every 2-3 events I guess?

Ok thanks for that, I was just wondering weather to keep Seven in Silver 5 Star and B-$ 4 Star that are not in the list.
It has taken a bit longer, as I have been working on an overhaul of the sheet, but it should be fairly close to done. I need to finish a few things and do some testing, but then it should be good to go.

It is a pretty significant overhaul that reduces a lot of complexity in especially calculations on the back end, speeding up some of the more intensive calculations quite noticeably. It is now possible to mark non-fully fused crew, so that you can get accurate results for those 3/4 or 1/5 crew littering up your roster (building this into the old sheet actually brought the thing to its knees, so an update was really necessary).
The layout is also a bit changed, and unfortunately this means that it is not as easy to copy-paste data from older version into the new sheet. I have created a quick conversion sheet that can help you copy your old crew data into the new sheet, but the Settings and Mission pages will have to be filled in manually in this upgrade.
As far as I can tell with my own crew, the new sheet should work quite well, but as it is essentially a new version of the sheet, some bugs may be present. Let me know and I will do my best to address these in coming upgrades.
Enjoy!
Edit: To clarify or make a short statement regarding the recent/ongoing IAmPicard situation – I fully support him and am incredibly sorry that he has had to pull his app and website due to unacceptable harassment and possibly misuse of his tools.
However, I do not see any direct involvement or mishandling of the situation by DB (assuming that the tool was indeed misused for cheating). They could provide better support for third-party tools and should have prevented this situation from occurring with better security measures on their end, but I personally do not see a need for a boycott or withdrawing tools from the community at this time. I fully respect any decision otherwise by any other authors, however.
Hey, just wondering if the calculations may be off with regard to the 'Best Active Skill' filter.
I have set it down to 1 rather than 4 due to space limits and I still get a number of crew where the only reason for keeping them is 'Best Active SEC Base'. This also seems the most common reason across my crew I haven't yet come across any other multiple 'Best Active XXX Base' skills other than Security
For example I have both 'Admiral Cartwright' and 'Admiral Janeway' and they are both listed as 'Best 5* SEC Base, Best Active SEC Base'
Similarly with both of those and 'Age of Sail La Forge' and 'Amanda Grayson', all four have the reason 'Best Active SEC Base'. They are not the only ones listed with this reason so it's not simply sticking to the default 4 setting, it seems to be ignoring that but going for all Security skills.
Am I misunderstanding this setting? for the four above, given the stars I've set for each one, shouldn't only one be listed as 'Best Active SEC Base' and the others have that reason removed?
EDIT: found also something is off with the skills, for 'Amanda Grayson' her skills are DIP/MED yet she has the 'Best Active SEC Base' reason. Similarly with 'Anastasia Komananov' (DIP/SEC) the 'Skills' column only lists DIP, see also 'Anbo-jyutsu Riker'. That would throw off anyone filtering by skills. Sorry for jumping on this so quickly, really like the new sheet and thanks again.

Thanks Leshy! Stellar!
This is fun to play with and the conversion sheet is genius.
I'm also getting a nudge to unfreeze dozens of crew for "best 4* sec base". There may be a gremlin in there with a sec fetish!
“Holodeck 2 tomorrow, 1600 hours. Just you, me and a tuning fork”
LOVING this update @Leshy. It runs so much smoother now, and really ups the value of the tool.
That said, for some reason when I activate bonuses, it gives every single Purple Crew "Best Active SEC Base." Kind of weird to see Bridge Officer Troi as a "Need" for best Active Security Base lol

Thanks for the reports, both!
Apparently a couple of formulas on the Settings sheet somehow ended up being deleted in the release version. Absolutely no idea how that happened, but they are back in and things should be working normally now.
You can either grab a new copy of the sheet, otherwise it is a simple fix on the copy that you already have:
- On the Settings sheet, unhide columns I-J.
- The formula in I27 should be =100%+$E27+$G27
- The formulas in J25-30 should be =100%+$F25+$H25 through to =100%+$F30+$H30
And...what if I have all the stars and they're not level 100? They get marked Frozen?
Took me a moment to figure that out .. indicating the number of stars should only be done once fully leveled, otherwise it'll throw the whole sheet off.

Great. I keep track of how many stars I have acquired so I know how many I'll need, and to not dismiss anyone I might want. Thanks for explaining. Not sure why that's the way it is.
I am really missing the freedom to mark my crew as cryo'd myself. The auto-frozen stat column doesn't let me account for crew I'm leveling. Sorry to complain, I am loving your project.
Hi @Leshy! Thanks for all your work on this spreadsheet, I've found it invaluable for managing my crew roster. I'm glad you are continuing to maintain it, despite the actions of other tool authors to pull their tool in the wake of the IAP mess.
Version 3.0 is a nice improvement over others and I'm enjoying the new functionality.
I don't see a way to donate but if you accept donations, I'd like to buy you a coffee/beer for all your work maintaining the sheet

Thanks, but I think something may be off with those instructions, shouldn't I25 be entered as =100%+$E25+$G25 and I also had to fill in the formula in I28 as well as the J column ones. Once I had tweaked that, the reasons seemed to start displaying correctly, as well as the crew skills column.
Once again thanks for the sheet it's awesome. I second @Riley600 and would buy you a coffee/beer if i could.

Just stopped by to shout out appreciation for this spreadsheet. The voyages addition is mighty fine!
Thanks for all your work
Do we add new members ourselves? or do we wait until there is an update and copy and paste new Crew?
