I desperately hope for an Expedition as I have not seen one so far. Probably it is as laborious as any other event type except Faction but at least it would be something new to me.
You can easily simulate an expedition on your own. Go into the galaxy map, find four crew missions (not ship battle missions) next to each other then do them one by one staring by doing normal lvl twice for each then do elite lvl twice for each then do epic lvl twice for each. This simulates unlocking all the nodes and missions you would have to do in an expedition. Be sure to use uncommon crew for the normal lvl because in an expedition your crew fatigues and loses stats the more missions they do and you do not want to exhaust your best crew early. Use rares and decent super rares for elite lvl to not exhaust your best crew. Then use your best super rares and legendaries for epic lvl. Now that is completed starting at the epic lvl work your way down doing each mission twice again using super rares and legendaries for epic lvl, rares and super rares for elite lvl and rares and uncommon crew for normal lvl. This simulates the missions you do now that the nodes and missions are all unlocked starting at the epic lvl since those give the most points in an expedition event. Now repeat your way working down the missions five more times each time doing each mission twice. Be sure you finish that the first day being sure to be done before the daily reset or you will have lost points. Then work your way down through the four missions three times more for the next three days being sure to do each mission and lvl twice per time. You have now fully simulated an expedition event. Wasn't that fun?

Well, sounds like more fun than Galaxies actually. But I pass on the test as I like my chrons too much to try it.

You won't know if you like it more than a galaxy event if you don't try it. The odds are not good though. The majority of players prefer galaxy events to expedition events. Expeditions are best as part of a hybrid.
My guess is that people liked her because she had some gray. She was not just some personified ideal. I like personified ideals, to a degree, but they need some way to relate to them. This is where the first seasons of TNG failed in characters. This is also why DS9 was better. The crew of DS9 had ideals, but were still normal.
Agreed. I adore grey characters.
I enjoy Garak for the same reasons.
But Garak was helpful to the crew. Therein lies the difference.

What I can see is that people with a mature roster have a big advantage over others. So probably you are right and I won't like it. Apart from that the bad odds are bad for everyone alike, and I have trust that everyone who has been playing for some months can at least clear the threshold, or am I mistaking?

Depends on your lvl and crew. There are many points to be had in expedition events if you have enough event crew. Event crew give far more points. You would be able to get some event crew in the threshold rewards. The biggest problem is you have to keep changing your crew as your crew fatigues and it takes forever to scroll through your crew to select the ones you need. Other big problems are the amount of clicking and time required.
Expeditions are the most time consuming. You have 1 hour to use a ticket. So every time you start a ticket, you need to pend the whole hour going to use the ticket completely.
That was the case originally, but later expeditions removed the time limit. You now have all the time until the end of the event to run a ticket, but you have to decide manually when to end the ticket and start a new one, refreshing nodes and crew members.
It is always worth more points to clear the nodes and start a new ticket then to grind your whole crew to exhaustion.
Expeditions aren’t that time consuming. You only get so many tickets per day, and once you figure out the best run through on the first ticket, the rest only take a few minutes to get through

I've played two Expeditions. Both were part of hybrids and you manually chose when to end a ticket. Basically, you get the most bonus VP from the nodes possible with each ticket. Grinding after that is not efficient because you can spend 1/100th the time making up the difference in the next phase. I find expeditions quite fun. You do the thing a few times, then it's over. Then the tedium starts in the next phase.
If you received something other than just event points I might agree, but Expeditions are the only event type that the only reward is event points. In all other events you receive other rewards or have to go fetch stuff which also adds other stuff to you inventory.

After a Galaxy I always find my inventory more depleted than stocked up. That is why I dislike them so much.

I liked Expeditions best because it was the only event type that doesn't cost anything to do (other than Tickets, which you get refreshed at the same rate as everyone else). Skirmishes are slightly better because they give you chrons and honor back the more you play. Faction is good because it doesn't use chrons at all, but to place high you spend shuttle boosts and buy crew packs. Galaxy has always $cked hippo T'Ong because you spend all your chrons and get probably nothing useful but a 4/4 crew and threshold rewards and maybe one ranked 5*.

I am curious what those that like Vash like about her. To me she just seemed like a thief who kept trying to pull one over on Picard and others so she could steal ancient artifacts and sell them for money. Picard for some reason looked past all that and then she dumped him for Q even thouh Q had almost gotten her and others killed when Q put them all into the Robin Hood story. She seemed like a schemer like Quark but less likeable because she did not care if people got hurt or killed. What am I missing?
Couldn't say, I found her completely annoying and self involved, so I think it will be a hard pass on that, I do have 3 of Riker already, so I can at least do the main threshold;)

It is the first day that is killer. You have to do your three tickets plus the three more you get in rewards plus an extra two for the error in the expedition and DB gives extra tickets.

I was just beginning to forget MirrorBeverleyGate.
"Here are some extra tickets as compensation"
😬😬😬😬
Of all the screw-ups by DB, this is the one that still bothers me the most -- mainly because they refused to provide fair (or even close to fair) compensation.

Same. High five!
...is anyone else planning to finish just shy of 1/5 threshold Riker?
I'm planning to finish wherever I am at the end of Phase 2.
