Indeed they do, which is why the COM node with a rare reward in the fifth mission is frustrating - none of the event crew have that skill. In retrospect, I wonder if that is the reason Captain La Forge was this week’s LTO, a way of pre-apologizing for the hard cap on VP from this node.
Captain Geordi and/or Scrooge Data can clear it
At a 1.5x bonus instead of 2x. That’s 125+250+500 VP per ticket less than expected. It’s worse for those who didn’t get Scrooge or Cap’n Geordi.

I identified the gap in CMD last week. There always tends to be a gap like this in expedition events. When I saw Capt La Forge as the LTO, it made perfect sense as the offer this week.
We all start with three, and we get refilled up to three each day. You can win more in the threshold rewards. If you saved your six tickets from the Bev Crusher Christmas event two years ago, you can also cash those in and use them. (My extra six are long gone.)
I dunno. I started with 6. Shows 5 in the pic cause I did one run through already.
There is a long-standing bug in expedition events. If you had extra tickets from a previous expedition event they are not wiped and you start the next event with extra tickets.

Also there are extra tickets in the threshold rewards you will receive when you claim them. Be sure to use them before daily reset or hold off on claiming them.

I just checked. I would get three right now. Gonna hold off until tonight. I should have Data on phone at midnight. That way I can just play all through them.
Also,
Howdy, Apollo!!!!!!
"The truth is like a lion; you don't have to defend it. Let it loose; it will defend itself."
I played half the first ticket and have yet to use a bonus crew. Only 500 needed for highest on epic. I, personally, will have no issues at all. I feel for VIP0 and new people with few crew slots.
David ... use bonus crew to CRIT nodes!!! You get way more VP. On the low levels just you alan-a-dale etc. and ONLY use them for the star-node ... let the expendable (non-bonus) crew handle the rest.
Just as an indicator ... got over 50k VP for a complete first run. It is more difficult to get max VP because you need to start at the lowest level ... from now I can work backwards so can make sure Doc La Forge can hit all the MED nodes.
... and this is one of the best events for VIP0 players who are willing to grind it out.
the extra tickets as a reward are a mistake. I had completely forgotten about them and was quite sad to see that I had 4/3 instead of 2/3 after using a ticket. So unnecessary - and go to cause the event to become misery. 3 tickets each day is plenty for everyone - and plenty to clear all threshold rewards by hundreds of thousands of points.
Jean-Luc Picard: "We think we've come so far. Torture of heretics, burning of witches, is all ancient history. Then, before you can blink an eye, suddenly, it threatens to start all over again."
Got more than 60k VPs in my first run through. Should do better on second one as I'll be able to use Prof/Detect/Doc on all three levels (I saved them for epic for this first run). I forgot how much time the first run can take as you think through who to use when. Second run will also take some thought. Third and onward and it's just rinse and repeat.
Raise your hand if you noticed that you could sort and filter crew. 🙋♂️
Excellent, it makes the event so much easier, and I am only using three search strings "data", "forge" and "scro"
I also see that when you sort crew, it does so by default stat, not fatigued stat. So that if a crew has been fatigued by several missions, it stays in the same place.
Just a reminder that the difficulty "feature" still exists. Once you have completed a mission, hit replay, and you can change the difficulty and keep the same crew.
Bug
You can run a double up ad, but it only doubles up the captain xp, and credits, it does not double up the VP.
Cheat Feature
Freezing and thawing a crew will remove their fatigue, so they will go back to their original stats.
This will be expensive on merits, but I can only see the advantage on doing this on the first run, as on subsequent runs you can start from the hardest level.
I may be in the minority, but I'm having fun with this event! I decided not to write anything down to help going a sure fire route each time, so there isn't just automatic tapping going on. With an Expedition, there's always the chance of "oh no s/he wasn't supposed to go there!" moments and "oooooops, now I run him to the grounds with levels to go" , which I've managed to have. I might not be the most effective player with my style, but this really, truly is such a nice change.
I’m on my fifth ticket and once again fully remember what a slog Expeditions are. The first ticket was neat, as it took a little time to not only work through unlocking the missions but also think about how crew would be used on subsequent tickets. The second was also nice, putting the plan into place and adjusting as necessary when I didn’t have things quite right. The third ticket is where weariness began to set in and the fourth is where I abandoned running missions on Normal because I started to hate my existence. After this ticket is done I’ll be at 3/3 thanks to surprise tickets at the beginning and those from the first 120,000ish VP of threshold rewards.
On the flip side, not thawing out Mirror Geordi was a good idea - in fact, with the way things have gone, I didn’t really need Frank Hollander, Friar Tuck, or Prospero either. Something to remember for the next Expedition we have to suffer through!

Yep. Agreed. Though the crew search is a great improvement. My problem was I accidentally claimed my rewards late and now have to run through them before the daily reset in an hour.
Wow. On the one hand that was probably the hardest expedition event I've played. Trying to match skills to the missions. I was exhausting my event crew completely. It really felt like these missions were designed under previous rules(which they were).
On the other hand, it's the first event where I really felt like I had to think. It's so much more fun when you feel like it's your skill determining the outcome instead of RNG or dumb grinding.

I started with five...I could swear that past Expeditions had three bonus tickets on day one, not two...weird.

Let me rephrase. I started with 6. Couldn't remember if that was correct for day one or not.
I started with three.
Captain Level: 95
VIP Level: 12
Unique Crew Immortalized: 525
Collections Completed: Vulcan, Ferengi, Borg, Romulan, Cardassian, Uncommon, Rare, Veteran, Common, Engineered, Physician, Innovator, Inspiring, Diplomat, Jury Rigger, Gauntlet Legends
Additional runs until exhaustion of crew give like 100 Points or something. But, more than your crew might get exhausted doing that........
Did you have 6 in your mailbox and cash them in? If not, something's wrong.

It's been so long, i forgot the bug existed.
Oh yeah. I did forget about that.

I've been doing it wrong. Now I feel dumb.
Reset? Midnight Eastern?
That's my recollection as well.

I am also curious about this, is the first reset 24 hours after the event starts, or does it happen at the time the dailies reset?
What what? Be right back...
EDIT: OMG this is big! Thanks DB!!!!!!
Called it!
