I find it absolutely fascinating that so far there has been not one chirp out of them.
If they have decided that they are holding the line and that this is their hill, then just say “Nope, everything stands as is.”
It is in their own best interests to rip the bandaid now, get it over with and roll with the fallout.
If they are desperately trying to figure out a way to remediate the situation then say, “Folks, we are considering our options, give us time.”
That would probably ease some tension.

FWIW (and I can't believe I'm actually defending them), I would imagine the people making these decisions do a 9 to 5 type schedule. So they probably only started pouring over and discussing the reaction less than an hour ago. You would think this would warrant a quicker response considering the furor but...TP gonna TP.
Totally agree. The longer this goes on without TP saying anything further or acknowledging they have upset a lot of people, the more difficult it is going to be to keep players. Personally I am getting more angry and frustrated by the minute.

I wouldn't hold my breath. I believe they made their decision. They called the bug an exploit and decided crack down on the abusive players for once and stand by it.
Let me start by saying I'm banned, so you can take this with whatever grains of salt you feel necessary. However, I also work in Marketing and social media / community management, and this could still be an easy fix:
Hello, Captains!
During a recent update, we introduced to the game some unintended functionality. While some players were able to take advantage of our error in the short span of time in which it was available, we were able to get it corrected in short order. Those taking advantage had the additional materials removed from their inventory to level the playing field to where it should have been for this exciting new feature of play.
However, perhaps it was pandemic stress or perhaps we were still in character as Q himself, but we made a choice that impacted many players in our beloved community, some unintentionally as a ripple effect. We recognize now that this action amounted to choosing the wrong Timeline and removing a great deal of love from our community, and for that we sincerely apologize.
Please enjoy these 250 Chronitons, 3 Constellations and copy of Punk Rocker as a token of goodwill. In addition, you will find that each Event phase has been extended 24 hours to give players the opportunity to reach the appropriate tiered rewards after their absence. Those returning to play will find the 19 Packs available for them to claim as we originally intended.
Except the ban was put in place inconsistently. People who claimed a couple extra times are reporting being banned, people who claimed lots are reporting not being banned. It seems like the intention was "anything over 20 pulls" because 19 is the magic number. But how did that 19 get arrived to? The pack wasn't supposed to be originally available that long (or please correct me if I'm mis-remembering - I thought it was only like 15 days total). If "19 pulls" was the number that was randomly decided to be approved, why not 20, or 30? What's the logic between the random "19" number? How can you sit in the conference room and come to a determination that "this many presses of the button we mis-coded is fine, but this many is not".
I think it's 19 because it's 19 days from 11th to 28th of Feb (on these days it will be online).
I find it absolutely fascinating that so far there has been not one chirp out of them.

Yup. While it was definitely not Shan’s decision, the post she authored that doubled down on all of this has forced their hand.
So really its just up to the players to either make good on threats to quit, or **tsk tsk** it up and crawl back to them.
I choose to quit, but not before i take this to every social media platform i can first
I have been checking Twitter and not as much outrage on there as I thought there would be. Calling TP out more publicly than this Forum ought to be considered as wider scrutiny and more likely to to want more public risk of reputational damage.
I don’t do FB, but imagine probably similar over there.

This is an internal mistake made by your company, your employees. Punishing your players is wrong! Even if some did abuse the system in place, it was not underhanded. The button was big and clear!
Most of the banned players did not abuse the system, they simply hit the button a few more times than you intended. If you lost revenue, that's on you. But one thing is clearly simple, you lost FAR more revenue from your reaction!
I don't even know how you can begin to walk back from this reaction. I don't see a clear path for you.
I wasn't affected by the ban, but I do know one thing for certain, I WILL NEVER SPEND MONEY ON THIS GAME AGAIN!!

They removed all isp and polestars I had before event. And I still will be far behind in event. This wouldn't be enough. My voyage would make at least twice chrons.
I've flagged this to Google support, will probably leave a negative review and stop all spending until reconciliation can be made. Never blame players/users for developer errors. If I develop something and it isn't completely intuitive for a user, and a user has a problem, it isn't their fault, it's mine. Development 101.
The silence is interesting by TP/WRG and we have seen this type of outcry by players before. The game is in the wrong, people know it, and your hoping to get the good will back. I know you see the sales and user data, it's not going up so not sure how this helps fix that curve. Dangerous. But I was retired before, if everyone moved on to a new game, it wouldnt be so bad since still I would talk to what makes this game great, the people, not the buttons we push.
Hey remember when you sent out our emails in a mass mailing campaign. Atleast you admited the error and gave us mirror Spock. Not ban the players for complaining that everyone now had our emails.
Hey remember all those packs that had buy now buttons and come to find out the crew it stated was not in there. At least you tried to fix that instead of blaming the players who all stated that no one was getting the right crew (used to encourage people to pull the Tuesday packs because the odds of a blunder was 50/50 at one point.
More recently, event rewards were either listed wrong or changed. I think you guys did well in fixing those issues. That's customer service, this is not.
We’re waiting....silence is most certainly not golden (for TP) in this case. This has been a monumental TP goof fest. Look in the mirror. Admit your mistake. Reverse the ban, and compensate those who were. Time is now your enemy. The longer this sits and stews, the longer it’s going to take for people to calm down. The ball’s in your court, and the clock’s ticking.

Fair point. I picked something random as a placeholder, but you're absolutely right that the longer this goes, the bigger that compensation would have to be to smooth things over, especially for higher-level players for whom a single Uncommon is a drop in the bucket.

You can't turn it up to 11 without going past 3 first.
Not a word from anyone as of yet, that's insane. I wasn't affected by the ban but this is honestly crazy. When people use insane macros to get ahead during events, no one bats an eyelash. Now that you've made a mistake, you punish your customers for it. If I logged in during the time of the bug, I would've opened the packs just like everyone else. I can't imagine a single person saying "nope, this is immoral". You made a mistake, the button said buy again, it's your fault. Get your heads out of your you know what and apologize. There are more shady things going on in the game.
What a turd of a " big tech" company! Your internet lines run through my yard, what do I get ? Nothing. And Im still banned? I will now chainsaw the pole in my yard to shut you down.
This is my first post. I've read the forums many times, but never really been tempted to add my two cents. While I didn't see the infamous Buy Again button and heard about it after the fix, I've definitely been dialed in to the aftermath. I find myself on the side of...the players. Everyone has explained and ranted about the bug (I agree it's a bug and not an exploit), but that's the inciting incident now, not the real problem. With almost no real exception, the posts express solidarity by the players that the reaction from TP/WRG went too far. I've by turns been highly entertained by the fiasco and in sympathy with those affected by the ban. It's a customer relations nightmare they've created. People play this game--I play this game--because I love Star Trek. Will I still play, yes. But warily now.
From what I've seen so far, the new feature is yet another grind, complicated and less useful than Honor, which at least is useful to the 30-some years it would take to immortalize all my crew. It will take forever to make it useful without spending money and I'm less inclined to that now. The punitive measures have alienated many people, banned or not. I can see why. How they respond to this blowback will determine in large part the future of the game. I can see a lot of people still playing, but I'm not sure they can afford another screw-up, which is likely inevitable.
In Star Trek terms, we're dealing with the Ferengi, not the Federation. Is anyone surprised at the Ferengi being tone-deaf, unforgiving, etc? No. But there are always people willing to deal with them...to a point.
What is crazy is that they offered the same screen to compensate the players who did not get banned and to do what people did to get banned in the first place. WTF kind of thinking is that?? lol hesitantly I did collect all 19 but...damn.....talk about anxiety yesterday

I remember an event where a lot of players got accidentally locked out of the game and it took a few days to fix. They gave everyone a legendary cite for that. This feels worse. And its also intentional. A legendary cite dosnt even come close to being enough.
