WRG has hyped this new feature, is experimenting with new rewards (390 dil packs, packs offered at other dates then before, including cites for a while etc).
It also told us through timelines talk we could expect surprises.

Secondly the game has a record of misleading or unclear tests in offers.
Many an offer text has been changed after people who bought it complained that it did not deliver what was advertised.
The game owner 'exploited' wrong advertisement to encite players to buy an offer, changed the text but never delivered what was promised.

Today there was a buy again button. If something is a once of deal, do not offer a buy again button.

It would have been an exploit if you would have to do a secret action like clicking on the ism to get it again.

Clicking on A buy again button which does exactly what it promises is not an exploit. It may be a mistake from. WRG, but so could the text about it being available once only.

If we do not buy anything because there might be a mistake , we never will. Because they are so common. And a buy again button is very very obvious.

Is there no QA at all? Is there no testing? Or are they blind so they can not see a big buy again button?

Some players clicked on an in game provided buy again button,

WRG did the following in recent months:

Misleading advertisement where the text was changed but people were not given what they bought.

    Refusing to fix bugs

Slow, inconsistent and complicated systems for complaints and error resolution to discourage players to try to do that.

    Incompetent programming

Non existent or very bad QA or testing

Blaming, accusing, banning the customers for using in game buttons.

Punishing all users for perceived misconduct , but realy WRG error, by making it harder to get the free daily target ISM by banning lots of customers.

Its not some players who are exploiting.

The players are being exploited by WRG.

You totally left out the elephant in the room. Changing a KEY Ranked Reward in an Event, less than an hour before the Event ended. At least they accepted responsibility for that one, and addressed it in a good way. Compensation for that was probably better than the best SorryTon pack we ever got from DB. Their actions today, after they made the mistake, are major steps back!

Except the Adria fiasco was not the first time they pulled a stunt like that. The Polywater Yar fiasco should have taught them that they shouldn't do things like that.

Would be very useful if someone could confirm that this is the current operating legal framework

EDIT - Changed my mind. I'm backing out.
  • With all due respect, this is very different than what the macro cheaters did.

Macro cheaters only affect which players get what of the set rewards pool. The devs aren't really losing anything if people cheat their way up the rankings; the cheaters might even inspire honest players to try to spend money to keep up! So unless and until macros started to threaten the cash flow from honest players who figured out the rankings were rigged there wasn't much incentive for DB/TP/WRG to fix it.

This glitch though? This was money out of the dev's pocket. Macros didn't really cost them anything but this did so they won't stand for it!

This glitch lasted approximately four minutes. The only thing the devs are out is a bunch of VIRTUAL items. If you could call it that. Because of the heavy handed way this incident was handles and the response from the community, it very well may mean money out of the dev's pocket. If a thousand users that spend $50 a month playing this game suddenly go elsewhere, how many devs get pink slips?

Two wrongs don't make a right.

This is outrageous. If you call THIS a game-breaking "exploit" then why was no one ever banned for $5 DYS or using IAP or the Independence Day debacle from a few years ago. All of those offered way more of an advantage. This new feature is still completely gated by Quantum. Without that all the polestars are useless anyway.

TL:DR your reasoning makes no sense and this was not the hill to die on after allowing worse bugs for way longer.
Those issues were under DB, not TP/WRG, so you can't really compare the two.

My last comment and I’ll go back to lurking bc y’all are too much.
TP is NOT responsible for how a different company handled prior exploits.
TOS clearly says you agree to arbitration for any claims and agree to not be part of any class action, so good luck with that route.
Lastly, my issue is with the disingenuous nature of the complaints. I looked and i took the first screenshots of the error at 12:03. Took me 2 minutes to realize there was an error and I wasn’t the first to post the glitch but y’all want to claim you thought it was supposed to be that way?!
If one of you posted something like I knew it was a glitch I pressed it 20 times even though I knew that. I expected at worse you’d take away the extra. Please the ban was excessive can you reconsider...maybe I’d be more sympathetic.
But no you want to feign ignorance, claim you are at no fault whatsoever and make demands and threats. I really hope they don’t reconsider. It would be far worse for TP to cave to this mob.
I’ve read every post on multiple threads regarding this and only one guy made anything approaching a reasonable request and even he is claiming his fleet mate only clicked it one extra time.
Truly a shameful day for this forum and player base.

I think you calling people here with a differing view than yours as a "mob" might be in conflict with the guidelines of how we are to address one another here, per Shan.

But, does that part of TOS mean anything? Does any part of TOS mean anything? WRG/TP violated the TOS they posted, with their response. If they do not abide by the TOS they are responsible for creating, would a just and fair legal system say it is fair to only apply the parts they want to cherrypick? Even if what happened rose to the definition THEY posted in the TOS for an "exploit", their response did not follow the response and actions posted in the TOS they set for themselves. Maybe because the response they limited themselves to would make 911 hang up on them? Or expose them to possible charges of nuisance abuse of the emergency services system?
