Vreenak's death got the romulans into the war against the dominion, turned the tide of the war and saved the whole alpha quadrant. Then you add on that Garak did it and tricked the romulans into the war. Such a great episode!
AAHHHHH I'm so excited! One more rung to level my Romulan Kirk and I'm dying for both the other two! I definitely won't be able to get Vreenak but still happy he's in the mix now, and can't wait for Keras!
Donatra as 5*, Koval and Valdore as two new 4* ... I'd be happy with that!
Being that it will be a hybrid, I'd rather Donatra be the 4* in the thresholds, please and thank you.
I’m happy with who they’ve chosen this time around, though I still think the rarities should be reversed, but I would LOVE to get a Donatra before the mega-event is completely over.
Weirdly enough, I’m also Vulcan Housewife. Also, RNGesus hates me, like really, REALLY hates me.
I for one is glad Vreenak is the 5* not Keras for his legendary meme status and the importance of his guest appearance to the tide shifting in the Dominion War.
As for next weeks crew @ErisTheVorta, i’m banking on this 5* variant:
As much as I like this set, I'll gladly replace any one of them for...
Kir'shara Archer - 5*
DIP (1), COM (2), SCI (3)
Human, Vulcan, Explorer, Communicator, Starfleet, Pilot, Hero, Diplomat
The poll today also made me realize, well we know one Romulan who isn't appearing next week: Caithlin Dar, otherwise she wouldn't have been on the poll.
Admiral of the Haus of GaghGagh, Starbase level 94, we are not accepting members at this time.
Captain of the voyage vessels: Queen of Bashir, Landsknecht, and Sunspear, the first luxury starship cruiseliners.
Amenities include wifi, fully-functioning holodecks, a full-service bar, 3 party decks, a Trill spa, and a business centre.
Fun fact: The ships are propelled by bouncy castle technology.
I would love to see Romulan Picard or Tallera as well, no problem. Tallera would actually be a great choice, because she would have both the Vulcan and Romulan trait.
"Everything about the Jem'Hadar is lethal!" - Eris (ST-DS9 Episode 2x26 "The Jem'Hadar")
It's funny that Bashir is mad at section 31 saying that ends justify the means when sisko does something quite similar. Good thing Bashir didnt know.
Murder one individual for ending war which could result in 900 billion casualties versus deliberate and systematic genocide by a quasi govt organization is not “something quite similar”.
There are so many real world examples...ug railroad incidents or even say a Native Americans cabal like sisko garak involved british govt of Canada in 1830s or 1870s in their favor by murdering an official or one very interesting fiction novel set in alternate Spain where Spanish catholic marquis like involve the British empire against 19th Cen Córdoba emirate to get emancipation are many examples which differentiates the ends and means scenarios and this is a game forum so chill....

Bashir was mad at section 31 for framing Sen Cretak to get a section 31 friendly romulan into power. Cretak would have likely been killed or imprisoned so that romulans would be friendly to the federation. Garak killed a romulan so that romulans would be friendly to the federation and join the war as allies. Similar methods and results. Sisko did what he had to do and he did not order Garak to kill Vreenak but the similarities can be seen. Bashir likely would have been against both actions. Not sure why you think I am angry K Han Solo when I am just talking about the nuances of ds9.
I have enough Vulcan and Rom immortals that I was barely using him in the first faction event, so just put him back in the freezer. Didn't figure he'd be a featured later on <shrug>
Level 99. Latest Immortal (957): Chancellor Gowron - October 2023.
Vreenak had better have an audio clip. What was the last one that fans demanded a clip so much DB bowed to pressure, Will Scarlett Worf?
I disagree. Everyone has been asking for him so if they make him the threshold, everyone has a chance at getting him. So for once, everyone will be happy. 😀

Bashir is Thomas Leamas; Sisko is Ransom Stoddard, and Garak is Tom Doniphon. If you're familiar with The Spy Who Came In from the Cold and The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, you should this. And if you aren't familiar with them, you're missing out on a pair of movies that I'm confident any DS9 fan will dig. LeCarre's Spy novel is richer than the film, but the film does justice to its source material. Liberty Valance is one of the rare instances where I feel strongly that the film is a considerable improvement over its source material. John Ford's film has more depth than Dorothy M. Johnson's original short. Both have some important plot twists that may be hard to avoid knowing by now, but I don't want to be the one to blurt them out.

Both have been on a lot of wish lists (including mine!), but I can confidently say that the forum community has consistently expressed greater enthusiasm for Vreenak.
I can confidently say that the forum community has consistently expressed greater enthusiasm for Vreenak.
And as Shan has pointed out around a 1000 times by now the forum "community" is only a small part of the userbase. So that doesn´t say much. Also because this small part (sadly!) for the most part thinks they hold the holy grail of Star Trek (Timelines), that the wishes of some people are identical to everyone who likes Star Trek (so much for IDIC, lol) and (again sadly) nearly everyone whines, demands and asks for this and that and everything for free, but gives DB as good as nothing in return.
Saying cause while everyone has different budgets and different resources to be put into entertainment oc only by flooding this forum endlessly and talking big without returning some "food" to DB the lifespan of this game is more limited than it would need to be.
And yeah, some things are overpriced, but when only a few peeps invest and not the majority of the userbase that is (sadly yet again) the only way a company and a game can survive. Especially since the business (in general) brought it upon themselves with this FTP term.
P.S.: Saying this in reply to you Travis, cause while you are a helpful soul you are also one of these peeps who sees their opinions as the ultimate. And when peeps like something you don´t like you create placebo reasons for them. Instead of accepting other reasons for which they are. Like say Galaxy Events.
If you want a a comfy shot at Top 1000 nothing is more comfy than them. If you did some prefarming (cause many many items repeat all the time) and saved up some chrons (which is easypeasy ever since Voyages was introduced) a piece of cake.
And not 4 days of farming like you often say. In fact you could start playing a Galaxy on the final day of it and still easily become Top 1000. Not so with Faction Events. Where you have to check things at least every 3 hours. Have to live on the schedule of a game for 4 days in a row. While you can play a Galaxy completely on your own schedule, as it fits. Well, that the rewards are better even you admitted

But coupled with placebo and not the real reasons
You're entirely right that we can't account for the overall player base because we don't have any information about non-forum members. That's precisely why I did specify "the forum community", to distinguish it from the player base at large. We can scroll through things like wish list threads and user request polls to collect empirical data, because we have it.
There is a difference between being presumptuous and making a reasonable extrapolation from collected data. The extrapolation I put forth is simply that Senator Vreenak has been more highly requested among the player base than has been Commander Keras (more generally known as the Romulan Commander from "Balance of Terror").
Regarding the rest of your remarks, there's too much going on there to address without risking derailing a thread I don't think any of us wish to see go sideways. I'll simply say that I'm sorry you feel that way.
I can confidently say that the forum community has consistently expressed greater enthusiasm for Vreenak.

Not sure why you are ragging on Travis. Travis is cool and he has every right to express his opinions on forum. That is what forums are for. Communication between the company and its customers. Many of us on forum are mindful of the fact that not everyone use the forum and we relay the messages we hear from our fleet mates and others about what they want when we post here. Further, Travis is correct when he says more people on forum have been asking for Vreenak. And if Vreenak was threshold instead of ranked reward more people would be able to get him. I suspect DB knows the interest for Vreenak is high so they put him as top ranked reward to generate more competition.
It's funny that Bashir is mad at section 31 saying that ends justify the means when sisko does something quite similar. Good thing Bashir didnt know.

Ok, I thought Bashir was mad at section 31 for deliberately committing genocide by infecting Odo and founders. So, was he ok with that but mad only because of senator Cretak getting the chop.
I don’t think you get that.
Bashir was not angry just for Senator Cretak but potential of such organization casually brutalizing multiple lives across generations.
In either scenario, actions of small cabal acting in moment to influence an event versus a multi century conspiracy to change destinies and acting judge jury executioner and God is not the same thing or do you think Sisko Garak created a new Section Nine to nudge the destinies of a trillion people for ongoing centuries.
Then it is same and we should have Section Nine as a faction.

I got those references; my wife gets sick when I start telling where the source of certain plot line in show she is seeing gets its inspiration and spoil the plots :-)
That is where it may be cultural but in Britain there is no evil MI 5 or Illuminati paradigm in literature ( or I am not really reading right stuff!) our section 31 is the Oxbridge elite! Unlike half the stuff in pop culture in states dealing with evil fragment of CIA.
We are happy to be administered by a benovalent patriarchy (or current matriarchy) and wait for wycombe wanderers to qualify for premiership! And that queen and lost prince 🤴 was the original inspiration behind the idea of changeling culture facing some degenerative disease (ala Asgard of stargate sg1) and lost Prince Odo coming back to save the race and claim his rightful place. Thank god they nixed that plot line (well the prince part) but introduced a futuristic Illuminati.
And opened a very major plot hole, what civilization instead of nurturing its young and protecting them; throws them willy nilly into the deep space without education and means to defend themselves and hope they come back.....with what?
As an aside, there is lot of cross pollination between Hollywood and Bollywood and I used to think who shot liberty valance inspired Watan helmed by Prem Nath (same story but in this heroine is won over by the man who shot the bandit leader with hero confessing he did not shoot; mayor instead of senator) but Watan was released 10 years before liberty valance (they shot liberty in b/w) so was liberty valance based on a 30s movie or a play which was extant. I doubt Prem Nath did lot of reading but made many Hollywood-Italian movie copies.

No. "Sarek" is "keraS" backwards.
But a second sound clip would be good too. I would like to propose, "I thought you'd be taller" when he was trolling Sisko.
This would make me happy.
Make it so DB!
I beg to differ... Stripy shirt Sarek rocks... oh wait, Hortas rock... Stripy shirt Sarek rules!
