I'm disappointed with both of them, but I'm really annoyed with Keras getting such a shafting. You could easily argue that he should have been a Legendary, so I expected his stats to reflect that. I'm not sure anyone here would complain if he had been the new super rare leader in command, as befits his role in the series. Instead he falls well under other such classic characters, like Klingon captain from the Motion Picture who we all had to look up and Captain shoulda-been-an-uncommon-Klaa. Really disappointing.
I'm going to try for both since I just want more Romulans, but I agree the stats are meh.
And DB... We've had it with these mother starfleeting two-stat crew in this mother starfleeting game
Admiral of the Haus of GaghGagh, Starbase level 94, we are not accepting members at this time.
Captain of the voyage vessels: Queen of Bashir, Landsknecht, and Sunspear, the first luxury starship cruiseliners.
Amenities include wifi, fully-functioning holodecks, a full-service bar, 3 party decks, a Trill spa, and a business centre.
Fun fact: The ships are propelled by bouncy castle technology.

He really should have been Legendary. With CMD/SCI/SEC and 2 base stats around 1100. And the Veteran & Tactician traits. I really have no idea why he has Villain. If he's a Villain then so are ALL Romulans
I find it a little funny that we complain about power creep invalidating older crew and then complain more when new crew don’t follow the power creep trend.
Get Vreenak and Keras if you like them as characters (and if you can), don’t if all you want is someone with better stats.
I have never once complained about power creep. Power creep is a natural part of a game like this. If new crew stats don't get better over time then what's the point?
I got Vreenak after just one pull! He even has the voice clip!
So I decided to do some more pulls seeing as my luck was so good the first time (and I want to get at least one Romulan Commander, so I can FF him) and!
That's four pulls, three Vreenaks, one Gangster Kirk and no Keras. Wild. I'm definitely doing more pulls on this pack when I get more dil tomorrow!

Yep, likewise. Some games will rebalance older crew here and there to help older stuff keep up a bit, but power creep is normally expected.
I bought the double up due to the awesomeness of this sound clip and the character art being good. FIrst time I have spent significant money on this game in a while.

Even without 6 months or more of power creep, Roms are pretty much weak. Compare Nevesa vs characters that came out around the same time. There are others as well that were weak even at their inception vs their real world timeline peers.
There's a sound clip and the character art is great. So I'm happy! The stats are reasonable, but that's to be expected with all the complaints about power creep. You can't have it both ways.
I do believe Keras could have been a legendary, but I will not complain too loudly about that ;-)
I would imagine that from DB's perspective, packs sell when the characters are either highly sought after or have impressive stats. If they're one or the other then different demos will buy packs, but if they're both then they'd be releasing a lot of 'meh' crew that are neither.
At least, that's the only rationale I can fathom to explain why the incomparable, legendary, iconic Xindi insectoid counselor is the second strongest voyage crew in the totality of the Star Trek universe.
This is probably spot on. The comments here indicate that some people are paying for Vreenak. I did 7 pulls on the Defensive Phlox pack despite never having watched a single episode of Enterprise because I wanted him for my gauntlet team.
At the end of the day, all that matters is If it sells. Iconic characters sell. Strong stats sell. Obscure characters with weak stats, not so much. So when you consider that they need to keep a steady stream of characters that people will buy, it makes perfect sense.
I would be ok with average to even slightly below average stats on the skills... If there were 3 skills.
I could even accept Vreenak as a two skill, who was who I most looked forward to, but Romulan Sarak should be 3. Comm/ Security/ Diplomacy
(Vreenak.. I would want him as 3, throw in Eng.. but I can accept we know little about him and just because he unveiled.. discovered.. something was untrue about a thing he was being told was true.. doesn't mean he actually did the work to find out. Maybe one of the guards he brought was his version of a LaForge who reported back to him their findings)
Didn't care so much about stats, but number of skills..
It's hard to believe we finally got Keras, Vreenak with great art AND the sound clip and people are complaining. I thought it would be like Christmas in April on this forum! It's one thing to wish that their stats were more useful, it's another to trash DB on the same day that they released characters everyone was clamoring for. Just my opinion, look on the bright side.

A character I've been clamoring for that will now have to sit in the cryostasis vault because he is not useful at ANYTHING. Yeah, I'm grateful for that....
Of what use is a new card if it doesn't qualify for either Gauntlet, Voyages, or Shuttles? How hard is it to make new cards that qualify for one of these?
Well, this is awkward. I have Rommie Kirk fully fused, so I expected him to pop up when I did a ten-pack of the Event Pack. THIS, however, NEVER happens:
Even had the stuff to equip him and promote to Level Twenty.
Scott
P.S. Also how awesome is it that he is in the "IT'S A FAKE!!!" pose?!?!?

I guess I have to play for Vreenak, because he's the 25th Diplomat for my collection reward. I actually wanted to go for him no matter what traits he would have ...
... but when I saw his stats ... I was that close to just not play this event ... and on top of that, Keras is even wurse!
"Everything about the Jem'Hadar is lethal!" - Eris (ST-DS9 Episode 2x26 "The Jem'Hadar")
The stats are underwhelming. I didn't bother buying any packs at all for that reason. I'll pay the honour to immortalize Keras. If I get a Vreenak, that's ok although I'm not too keen on adding a 2-skill character with bland stats. He'll just end up sitting in my crew quarters until I need a Romulan for a C/D Voyage.

It makes perfect sense though. We already have a ton of mediocre crew as a result of power creep, so when new crew are created, unless they follow the power creep trend, they are pretty much DOA when it comes to being useful for anything other than a vault collection so it's not a surprise that people would complain about it.
Balance of Terror is one of my favorite episodes of Trek ever. The Romulan Commander (Keras) is meant to be a mirror image of Kirk. He's commander of "the Praetor's finest and proudest flagship." He should have Security in addition to Command and Diplomacy.
As far as Traits, he should also have:
Veteran "Danger and I are old companions." "We are creatures of duty Captain... I have lived my life by it"
Tactician "No. No, he's shrewd, this starship commander. He tries to make us waste energy. "
Resourceful "All debris into disposal tubes... the body of the Centurion, too. Forgive me, my old friend, but I must use all my experience now to get home."
I agree with others that Villain is inappropriate. If anything, he'd have Hero, instead.
And how are his Arena bonuses? He should at least excel there - considering that's pretty much what his entire episode is about.

Which two. I only see him in the Romulan collection.
The only other possibilities are if he has the trait, Veteran, Inspiring, or, Diplomat.
And he is in none of those.
You must have meant the other Romulan. He is in the Diplomat .
To Boldly Go (inspiring).
He also has the 'Inspiring' trait, which is in the "To Boldly Go" collection.

This will lead to the introduction of 4-stat crew so everyone can really complain when we get 2-stat crew!
The final event will bring in two crew with 3 stats, lots of traits and be high on the power creep scale!
Romulan Janeway
Romulan Burnham
Then watch as heads explode trying to reconcile the hate for a new Janeway/Burnham with the desire for crew with great stats!
You'd airlock him immediately.
Until I saw the stats, I didn't realize how badly I wanted Keras and how disappointed I am.
