It's fine to have a few ENG seats here and there but when you have multiple missions that are entirely ENG or all but one that's just disgusting. There are I think three bonus crew (4* or 5*) that have ENG and none of them have ENG/CMD which is AGAIN a seat combination like it was week 1.

Once again this reeks of either poor planning or specifically trying to frustrate players and make the game more difficult than necessary.

    4*+ bonus crew with ENG:
    T'Rul
    Romulan Data
    Laborer Spock
  • The really funny thing is that either Keras or Vreenak could have had ENG as a tertiary ability - basically all ship captains have a justification, and discovering the rod was a fake was arguably an engineering task for Vreenak.

One tiny, almost inconsequential move, and the event missions make sense, the event characters have relevance both to the event and in the broader game, and satisfaction for the people who bought event packs climbs dramatically.

Or, you know, they could run an event where nobody has much in the way of bonus crew with the major skill, and create two new characters with limited value in both the event and the wider game.

Which one of these has engineering again?

Because the missions seem to think they do. This is constantly happening now, missions do not line up with the event crew. It's making it pointless to buy.

This Ladies, Gentleman and those non binarily defined is why fewer shuttle missions is bad for the players, in case you were still wondering..

You mean you don't keep 17 copies of T'Rul lying around? :)
Well, there is Vorik. And one or two others that almost nobody have. Change almost nothing though...
Also, I've run over 20 shuttles so far. You'd think ONE of them would drop a 2* Star Empire Icon...
Start of event shuttles have "fresh" drop rate, so basics and commons mostly. Good for Augment and Fed farming (those endless med experiments and films). Not so good to get more 2* items...

Well, that will change as soon as you'll get to 4k ones.

Good point on the item drops. Though, with the lack of available bonus crew engineers to give a good bonus, I don't know that I'll be making it to those 4K shuttles. I've got a few other good ENG shuttle crew, so maybe they can pick up the slack if RNG be kind.

It continues to amaze me that we have to point these things out after the event begins.

Lucky that I decided to put some stars with honor on Lorian earlier on ... he's very useful now. :)

  • Glad to come here and find I'm not the only one. An Army of Voriks would be very handy right now, lol. And thanks, Shan, for reporting this.

Don't mistake this as a vote of approval for these missions, but Lorian is ENG/CMD.

Looks like T’Rul doesn’t get a bonus to go with all of these ENG slots. Brilliant.
Update - looks like a display bug. I reselected her and it works.

I'm thinking of changing my crew share for my squad. I have Surak at 3*, but I've barely used him so far.

One thing this is making me realize is how relatively weak on ENG I am

Yes it is definitely weird. Remember that Surak is event crew as well and also nearly worthless. Also weird there is a mission with three medical slots and all I have for medical is katra mccoy and romulan troi. I think clearly Vreenak was supposed to have engineering but someone messed up and didnt add it. Week 1 faction event had a lot of engineering as well.

I ended up sharing Romulan Kirk rather than Surak since Kirk seemed more useful based on the missions.

I had a great kickstart, clearing 25 missions in about 10 minutes. I then went 4/4 on the 1800 point missions, with time boosts... everything was going well!

However, I am now repeating the 2250 point wave of missions for the third time! On the first 2 waves I went 3/4 and 2/4, despite not having a mission rank below 94% (all with time boosts).

    Displayed: 96%, 96%, 96%, 96%, 95%, 95%, 94%, 94% = 95.25% average displayed

    Actual: 5/8 = 62.5% result

    Difference: 32.75% lower than displayed!!!

I was trying to plan hitting the surak threshold around the right shuttle so I can fuse him and have him on a shuttle. Then I realized he wasn't on one and I couldn't find a way to stick him on one that wasn't a 5 slot low percentage one. And then I thought, this must be a mistake, how can event crew be unable to be used in an event?

Thanks, Shan. I do have to ask, though, shouldn't the team have been aware of this long before the event started?

My 3rd wave of shuttles at 2250 points just came back with 3/4 success, which means I now have to do the 2250 point tier for a FOURTH time! I submitted a ticket, this is a complete joke.

    Displayed: 96% x 6, 95% x 3, 94% x 3 = 95.25% average (none below 94%)

    Results: 8/12 = 66.7% actual

Difference: actual results were 28.55% lower than posted

I also wasted 4 of the 3* speed boosts and 4 of the 4* speed boosts, as a result of having to redo this wave of shuttles 3 extra times (the 4th wave I boosted with 1* skill boosts, getting all 4 shuttles up to 97% posted success rate, but now the wave will take the full 3 hours).

Right now it seems that shuttle fails from 2250-4000 are what determines whether you make top 1000 in faction events. Prior to the kick start nerf, we mostly bypassed this whole death zone straight to 4K and seldom fell back below (unless you managed to fail 2/4 on your first 4K shuttle... failing any one in this period sets you back big time as 3/4 means you only get +1.5 or you have to run three missions at 3/4 to advance to the next tier... I have adjusted my strategy accordingly but it is painful to kind of know you’re doomed only a few hours in a four day event unless you are willing to waste a zillion time boosts and/or forgo sleep to try to catch up...

EDIT: Just failed one with a 3/4 at 2250vp with all displayed at 99% but due to “cushion” in my strategy still just sent another set at 2750vp... all at 99%. Any more fails though and I will be set back at least one shuttle run...

Perhaps the "team" thought that Burnham was a Vulcan... if so..we would have had lots of Engineers.

Thank you for your response, @Shan . Now that y'all have the ENG sorted out (or not) ...

Perhaps you and your minions at DBHQ might turn your attention to why so many players come here to complain. Hint: It's not our fault.
