Jazz Musician Riker is in this month's Daily Rewards and is also the 3* in the ranked rewards...very underwhelming to say the least. A new 3* would have been much better received.
Keeping the pack live an extra day wouldn't be a bad idea, imo.
They likely can't have two event packs up at once. They already said the event pack for the following week would be delayed a bit, but pushing this one out a day would mean next week goes live at event start. Just another reason why having this event end on Wednesday was a poorly planned idea.

I thought they had done that with old and current event packs. Maybe just need to take it down as the live event pack and put it back as a golden oldie?

So cute that you think they PLANNED this..

I suspect the way it's coded is different. Where you have the "event pack" which they change every week and then there are "additional packs" that they offer. When old event packs are up it means they've added them temporarily like any of the other temp offers.
I agree. Some of us have jobs in real life. Personally I’d like at least a full week without events for once so I can focus on other things like immortalizing crew and getting honored status with the factions.
Agree so much with this. I understand that DB wants to change things up with the 6 day event, but to follow immediately after by a 4 day event is just too much. It would have been a great point to give events a week off.

My kids play Disney Magic Kingdoms and it has a better approach to events. They have like one a month or every other month and give breaks in between depending on how long it is. DB could do the same and run longer events (a week or two) and release more crew per event and give some time off in between (two to three weeks). Faction could be the primary running the whole event and every few days you sprinkle in simultaneously bonus mini events lasting 24 hours tied to the main event using the other types of events. Each separate mini event could give thresholds for a different 4* and the overall event goes after the 5* with all of it tied into one theme. You release several new characters as well as repeat several older ones. After one to two weeks of intensity, you back it off for a while so everyone can relax and get back to life for a bit. Weekly events gives you something to do in the game but it is tiring keeping up without a break. Burnout ensues, especially if the game doesn't have an end point.

If there were events once a month the game we be boring. Events are the high point of this game. I like the way it is set up now, one a week. Some i threshold, some i craft one recipe then am done, and sometimes I put a full max effort. Burnout comes when you burn your resources every event. You do not have to do that. You can take a week off here and there, but to just take the weekend event out entirely would not be desirable to me.

Exactly. We can make choices, save up resources for events we really want to attack. This one for example I will play very relaxed for many reasons, so I am not bothered by the extension.
DB on the other hand needs to make cash week in, week out so this game can stay alive. Events once a month and I think we could say "Bye, bye STT" soon...

Yeah, I wouldn't want to see monthly events, but they could tailor the types to duration and have overlapping events.
Galaxy kind of fits 4 days quite nicely, whilst Faction could last a week or more easily. Skirmishes and Expeditions in their current format fit maybe 1 or 2 days.
This would allow for multiple event types running at once, and with varying needs of playing intensity and differing prize structures.
Even only allow entry to some events if you've got a certain character type. There's a lot of flexibility to drives sales there.
Currently events are a template, which helps drive burnout. Sales - and money - comes from players being invested in playing the game, and having things "same old, same old" practically invites churn.
Timelines has a lot of potential to expand, however as we've been made aware of in the past, the code isn't exactly tailored for that. I hope DB makes the investment to remedy that, otherwise the game most certainly has use-by date on it, and the more people figure that out the less likely they are to spend on it.
Even if the event was once a month it could run for a couple of weeks and be multi faceted, then you take a break. You still get the same number of event days and new characters in a month, and an opportunity for longer story lines that connect to the main story line. As it stands now, it's the same formula over and over again. People can get bored or tired and move on. You get a longer build up and a better connection to the event with longer gaps in anticipation and longer events to engage it. They would have more sales if players had 10 days to level up crew and buy packs for that crew in advance because they will actually get to use the crew for a while and not just cryo them. Just my two cents that's all.
I remember when events first started and they were once a month. I miss those days.
Once per month would be boring..... and imagine everyone farming to high heaven for galaxy events? It would be ridiculous.
Better once per week, and to play if and when you want. If you don’t like weekly, skipping events is a good option.
Better to have the option to play once per week, than to be sat waiting for three weeks of the month for something to happen, aside from
dailies and leveling crew.

I agree that I do like weekly.
However, 4 days is enough. More than enough if it's not a hybrid.
...aaaand I'm done. I didn't think I would finish the Threshold in a day, but here I am.
(this also gives me 4/5 Legendaries from the DS9/Augments Mega. Just missing Species 8472, which I didn't want anyway)
Good luck to everyone trying for Top 1000! I'm gonna spend the weekend leveling my crew .
Does anyone actually want longer events? I'm seriously curious. I know I don't. I know some others who don't. I've never heard anyone asking for a longer one, but if you're out there speak up as this is your moment.
Nope...I like my galaxy events just the way they've been...
Thresholds cleared 14 hours into a 144 hour event. The 10x premium pack gave me a 4* behold featuring 3 immortalized crew. The 10x event pack gave me a final copy of Leeta, meaning both community 4* rewards will be straight honor.
I'll still participate in the faction phase to farm Augment items, and be able to avoid the galaxy grind and chron drain, in favor of working on crew for next week's event.

They were all closed after the unfortunate demise of Ambassador El-vys Presley, and the associated haunting afterwards.
On a related note, Worf will airlock anyone humming "Return to Sender" in his vicinity. That was not a glorious day.

Remember those days? This fireball has entered the atmosphere and is gaining speed towards...well the ground I guess

Started playin' it like everyone else was. We're gonna keep on playin' it forever just because this is the event that doesn't end...

Exactly if you want monthly events only play one event a month. If you don't like the legendary threshold and out.
Play how you want to play, more events means more choice for people
Oh and Expedition events are massive time sucking grindathons I think I will probably skip future ones!
They're dull, but I wouldn't say time-sucking.
The first ticket is, grinding through the three difficulty levels, but after that I just right-to-left Epic which takes a few minutes.
More time is spent finding crew than doing the node.
It seems to take me much longer than that. Although finding the crew is the problem

You'll get 3 more at server reset.
Except that I'm pretty sure I didn't get them. Did everyone else?
