    I've no idea how the DB office is set up but I imagine Shan leaping up from her desk, running at high speed towards the programmer type people screaming 'take the pack down, take the pack DOWN!' before leaping over several desks and pressing some big red button that magically removes all the packs.

    Shan doesn't work at the HQ, she has a home office.

    Maybe she leaps over her couch in an effort to get to her phone......😞

    Well, on the off chance that they institute a roll back to just before the pack dropped, thus reseting everyone's account, my game is now on hold....No point in doing anything if i'm going to lose it anyway

    Agreed. But, out of an abundance of caution, I'm not doing one single thing in-game, until we see how this shakes out. If there's a forced reset, we could lose all progress and resources spent. STT, itself, just went to cryo until we know how this goes down.

    Yeah, the only thing in game that I've done is complete a dilemma and do some gauntlet.

    Now the game is sour beyond tolerable. If they don't make this FAIR they are enabling a rigged game. This definitely should get reported to apple at least as a violation of all disclosed drop rates.

    I'm gonna go with the response being some variation of an apology email, no global compensation, and instructions to enter a ticket if you feel you were negatively impacted.

    Genuinely bothered about this. My voyage is back and I've a couple of thousand chrons saved to level crew. Been looking forward to it all day. I've never experienced a roll back and I'm not a gamer so I'm not sure what will happen

    Your chrons should be safe in case of rollback.

    I'm gonna go with the response being some variation of an apology email, no global compensation, and instructions to enter a ticket if you feel you were negatively impacted.

    This invalidates all disclosed drop rates. Fraud comes to mind (if they do nothing/lip service assurances). This is akin to a rigged mafia casino situation with DB complicit unless they do a rollback equivalent.

    Fair playing field is out the window until then.

    Yeah, I'm negatively impacted. I've potentially lost 200k free dilithium.

    Unless they take periodic snapshots of the game servers and the associated databases, I'm not sure how they would roll anything back. You might be able to identify all the database transactions and roll those back.

    This exactly.... They would need to have backups or 'snapshots' taken at pretty routine intervals to be able to accomplish this... maybe they do, it's hard to say... but it's still a crapshoot if they roll back because how do you compensate the hours of time that people may have lost playing just to have it un-done.... *shrug* I don't know

    Walk back anything people who took advantage of the bug got, even if they transformed it into something other than dil and merits. Refund any money they spent on that portal.

    That is the nicer way to resolve this. The other alternative is mass bans, or mass quitting.

    Heck, you'd think that even freeware server maintenance software would include this feature, but who knows. There has to be some sort of failsafe for catastrophic server failure, fire, terroristic threats based on no admiral Patrick card, or whatever.

    I meant if you were talking about long voyage's chrons than huge majority of them should be safe. Rollback would simply undo last part of your voyage and then you could do this last part one more time. But knowing DB you would be wise to take all the screenshots you can.

    The easiest solution I can think of, assuming their technology allows it, is just reset the server by 4 hours or so for every player in the game and then give out some sort of "moderate" sorry like a 10 pack special, 1000 dil, or something similar. It seems easier than breaking the game economy in general (even if it's marginal for most that got the offer or extreme in some cases from the 200k plus dil screen shots I've been seeing)

    That wouldn’t work at all. That would cause a whole lot more problems. Imagine if you’re someone who doesn’t come on the forums and have no idea of that bug even existed. You purchase and spend dilithium and get several beholds and select crew that you’ve wanted for a long time. Certainly they do a reset and those crew are gone. That would be a nightmare to deal with.

    I'm sorry but making such backups is one of the most important rules of any online business. I would be very disappointed if DB broken this rule.

    and hand out a 6500 dil free pull to all players.

    I'm sorry but making such backups is one of the most important rules of any online business. I would be very disappointed if DB broken this rule.

    I'd argue daily backups are the 'standard'. Incremental backups on an hourly or "anytime" basis would be more rare... just depends on the infrastructure
