Don't give up just yet - Shan's been back less than a day. It took three days to sort out the Mirror Picard problem.
Beyond that, we don't want to leave Disruptor Beam in a position where they can make such mistakes and inflict such damage, and actually profit from it. They're not the only point of contact over this, however. But I have confidence in Shan.
Found that my ticket was closed today despite having no reply to my last two responses.

Well, I hope now that Shan is back
(Welcome back) they can take another look at this.
I'm very dissatisfied, I did not write cs so I could see how it went on here first..
(And to not overwhelm cs)
I want the Tasha, I bought her & fought her to 3 stars.. I want a five star Yar.
I don't like being cheated out of my time and effort, as her battle stats were a -major- reason for my extra efforts (both playing and monitarily )
I get that her battle stats they consider to be out of wack, but they designed them.
They've been running this game over 2 years, it's not hard to see how it would go, right down to the player who bought enough to immortalized her 3x !
But if your going to give her a big nerf like that, then you should
A) increase her base stats by some moderate degree (it's not perfect, but a fair gesture)
Or offer a swap star for to another / other legendary characters
C) for those like me who don't want to lose the specific character but without her battle trait feel that she's now kinda clogging up a spot.. an extra star to help immortalize her faster
Some variant / mix of these 3 options.
Releasing the 4* the very next event that has battle skill to help reduce her impact only boosts the hypocrisy of the Yar-Taring.
In the interest of fairness, of customer satisfaction, of at least maintaining the illusion that we're not just cows waiting to be milked.. I would strongly urge some form of escalating wide comp.
Anyone who pulled her in a pack / anyone in the top 1500 should receive something.
I gave up on this as well. They finally offered me some of the boosts back, but nothing for leveling Yar or dil refund for the pack I got trying to get her. Of course, they immediately dismissed my request to swap Yar for another character with similar (advertised) ship ability.
Anyway, as I said before in this (or another thread), I will not spend any more on this game. That includes monthly card. Had contemplated quitting altogether, but will probably stick around for a while until I find another game that interests me. Am however trying to limit the time I spend on the game.
Going in two weeks here, #451912. All I am hoping for is my dilithium back from the 650 for 10 pack purchases. I made several unsuccessful attempts to get Yar before I went full into the event. This refund was offered to a fleetmate but CS claims I made no such purchase (not correct - if that was accurate where did my 4th Admiral Ross come from?)
I spent my monthly card on those, plus my collections rewards.
UPDATE - as of 8/30 morning CS kindly granted my request and dilithium for my 7 pulls has been refunded. Thank you DB (and patient agent John)!
Was told they were absolutely not refunding or returning any boosts spent in order keep things consistent, so I'm pretty disappointed to see responses in this thread that they did in fact do that for some players (which, they should be returning the boosts that anyone spent to rank for her). Guess that CS is still an inconsistent hot mess. Why am I not surprised.

Well they promised me boosts, but then gave me trainers! When I complained they removed the trainers and gave me the promised boosts. At least I think they did. Forgot to take a screenshot before, so no concrete way to verify.
I'm currently being told that they absolutely can't restore boosts for anyone..

These wildly contradictory reports are why I waited so long to put in a ticket. I'm still upset that we were all cheated (me only a little), but I want Hoshi, so I'm going to give it another go. But my confidence in DB is very low at the moment.
I spent $35 on the offers for Ross & Garak to get the packs for the chance to obtain Yar. I have her and leveled her to 60 before the event ended and the announcement came that she was nerfed. I honestly tried to use her in ship battles & didn't think I could make her work any better than the crew I was already using, so I probably wasn't even going to use her. That said, the fact that they changed her ability so quickly, immediately after the event, requires compensation for those of us who spent money and/or resources to obtain her.
I used to buy the $10 offers consistently to at least fuse event 4*, but that isn't happening any more. No more buying dil for packs, no more 10 10x for $10, no more monthly card, no more anything for DB. I have had enough.
From a 2017 article on DB in gamesindustry.biz (link is here):
"People frequently believe the reason we do licensed game products is customer acquisition because of the name recognition," Radoff said. "And it certainly helps, but it's not sufficient on its own to build a successful game. The real reason you build games in these worlds is because of retention [emphasis mine]. If someone really wants to live in the world of Westeros, or they want to be in the universe of Star Trek, then they have very limited options when switching out of the product to do that somewhere else.[emphasis mine]"
Given the gaffes over the past few weeks, I wonder if DB even recognizes, much less cares, that a growing segment of its player base is leaving this game to try some of those other options (or stop playing altogether).
My monthly dilithium card expired today, and I am honestly undecided on whether to renew it. I want to support this game, but I do not want to will not support the lack of meaningful communication from its maker, especially in light of the above quotation.

In the last few weeks I have picked up again with ST Online. And I have to say that Cryptic really knows how to keep people engaged and not step on their own phalluses on a continuous basis. Their business plan isn’t all that dissimilar, with both cosmetic items and ships/gear improvements available for sale. And they regularly release story content, have good artists, pay the big bucks to bring in past Trek stars to do voice work (LeVar Burton, Michael Dorn, Garrett Wang, J.G. Hertzler, Chase Masterson, almost the entire main cast of DS9), and offer many chances for non-spenders to still land exclusive content. Not to mention a host of PvE and PvP events, seasonal specials, and a hefty endgame content system. I plopped down over $50 there in the last few weeks to get a couple new ships and didn’t feel robbed like I would have here trying to accumulate enough schematics to get a ship that was usable.
There are also several other games on the horizon that will be taking money and time that I could have spent here, so the ball is in DB’s court.

Personally, I didn't expect to get any of my packs or boosts refunded and guess what, I didn't get any refunded. I would normally buy pack offers during faction events but I've stopped since Yar. I don't expect all players will do this, and given payments from Google and Apple are delayed DB probably haven't even noticed a drop in revenue.
I am going to have a look at this other game tho @Dirk Gunderson

Same, for a faction event I would have already pulled packs until I got at least that 4th Keiko, but for this event after all the crap that's happened... no purchases. Just a drop in the bucket maybe but we'll see. Honestly, the consistent mess ups have just sucked the former fun out of the game for me, right now I'm just going through the daily motions and who knows how long that can keep up
I get the disappointment regarding this issue, I do.
So does the team. The change for Polywater Yar was not an easy decision to make but it had to happen when it did. And yes the timing of it all was unfortunate, we realize that.
This is not a situation we want either ourselves or our players to be in again, it has surfaced points of failure in the Design and QA processes regarding crew, and steps are being taken to address them.
Likewise for other issues like what happened for the Skirmish Events.
Of course actions do speak louder than words and I hope that improvements in the coming weeks will do just that.
Now for those of you with tickets regarding Polywater Yar, if you are not satisfied with the solution offered to you, please follow the proper procedure and request an escalation. Thank you!

The proper procedure of escalating through customer service is time-consuming and emotionally exhausting. Much easier to just stop spending money.

Agreed. Time consuming being the biggest thing, sometimes 2 or 3 days between DB responses... I hit the point of just saying nevermind thanks for nothing despite still feeling cheated

Shan, I was offered boosts, I was told there was no other escalation. I believe a citation is appropriate compensation for all the time and effort and dedication to the event. What does DB believe is appropriate for shredding he card to a pulp?
Regards to your first point, no one has explained why the outcome for the need was to take take her from the best arena crew to useless crew. Why not change her to make her just very good, (I.e. the same as Killy?)

This was my biggest issue too, why is a citation an automatic "no"? We all ripped packs to get Yar but the proposition to CS to swap yar for a citation was like an automatic WHOAH NO WAY MAN
It seems like a reasonable trade to me *shrug*

Shan there are other actions, that you (the collective DB you) can do to make this sting a whole lot less.
One of these that has been said again and again, is to make Yar similar to Killy. Don't undo the nerf, but soften it up a bunch.
The nerf hammer landed so hard and so quickly as packs were closing up, that it's hard not for some folks to imagine foul intent even if there was none present.
Make Yar usable with a Killy level upgrade and maybe win a little good will back. Or stand y'alls ground and be stubborn about it, and start losing more revenue.
Your choice.
Cause frankly, dealing with CS to resolve something y'all created non-accidentally is punishment above insult at this point. With the inconsistent results I can only assume it is your bosses intent to make sure any compensation is hard enough to get as to discourage folks from pursuing it.

STO is good fun for both consoles and PCs. Although it takes a very different story approach compared to STT, it still has managed to bring together a lot of beloved characters, locations, and “loose strings” from episodes in every series. Unlike STT, Cryptic has also been able to include some Kelvinverse content, also without beating people over the head with it. The last time I looked it was just ships and gear (my main character uses a Kelvin timeline Federation pulse phaser pistol, bat’leth, and a photon torpedo launcher won from Kelvin-themed lock boxes) - no characters or story chapters that I am aware of.

The destruction of Romulus is a major plot point, yes, but all events take place in the Prime Universe rather than in the Kelvinverse (except, technically, that one mission). I guess I wasn’t clear on that...oops.

My monthly dilithium card expired today, and I am honestly undecided on whether to renew it. I want to support this game, but I do not want to will not support the lack of meaningful communication from its maker, especially in light of the above quotation.
DB: Do Better
LLAP
I hope DB pay attention to this post, and to the fact that this thread itself has had 11.6k views.

I thought they had the destroyed Romulus and such in there.
The destruction of Romulus is a major plot point, yes, but all events take place in the Prime Universe rather than in the Kelvinverse (except, technically, that one mission). I guess I wasn’t clear on that...oops.
