    If you have a couple of businesses I hope I never have to deal with any of them as your behaviour sounds rather shady to me.

    Of course if I did deal with you satisfactorily for several months it would be good to know that if you annoy me down the line you would be happy to pay me back all the money I have spent.

    We had some building work done and were generally pleased with it but there were a few snags after the project completed. By your logic we should be entitled to a full refund if we are not compensated to our satisfaction.

    Ultimately she was overpowered so what did you expect them to do? Really though it highlights the fact that ship battles are broken as they only depend on cloak / insta damage crew

    The timing of the nerf, namely the second Yar was no longer for sale, is wat got most people involved here upset. After that the communication and support was handled poorly.

    Which seems fair

    A) obliterating her stats, offering no compensation and terrible communication with no apology.
    -or-
    B. ) bringing her stats in line with Killy (good but not OP), offering some form of compensation (Citation for example) and apologizing.


    The second would have made people accepting of the change, acknowledged the mistake and offered compensation for what DB messes up.

  • I purchased extra shuttle boosts, finished rank #50, got two event packs (no Yar) and DB told me I’m entitled to NOTHING. All I asked for was for them to exchange my (now) unwanted Yar for my
    Shuttle boosts.... needless to say I didn’t purchase the 4000Dil offer with 30 x premium packs recently and my spending will be for a monthly card henceforth.

    One small point of interest: it makes sense that removing a pack and a major character skill change would only happen during the Tuesday server push. The problem really is that communication from DB was abysmal and that they appeared to have no advance planning for Vampire Yar owners’ understandable frustration at the nerf.

    The nerf was probably needed, but to throw out another thought remember that the arena is getting a rework that will be out later this year early next too that to quote Erin are "significant changes coming for ship abilities, which is going to shake up the Arena". Was she going to throw things off enough that they couldn't have waited until the re-balance, or at least until they saw the real life effect of her. Many would argue that Sphere 878 is more of an issue in Captain than Yar would have been in Admiral, but that's not been touched.

    Yeah, they could have done that better (understatement). She was still for sale in a catch up pack, but the nerf went in basically the same time as her event pack went off sale meaning they already had the nerf in mind and could have announced it was coming ahead of time instead of waiting if it was crucial for them to do it "now". It's the same Achilles heel that DB's had from day one. Communication.

    Since when is wanting a refund for bad customer service, and fraudulent behavior shady or dodgy? If you are not getting what is promised, seems pretty reasonable to me.

    The bottom line is these situations could of been handled way better, or handled at all really? It just shows evidence of a much larger problem with the way the game is run. It just hurts their bottom line, regardless if they are okay with that, so be it lol

    Also if you want to get technical, DB or any other game /provider agreed to the terms with Apple/Google, including the acceptable period of refunds, that was their choice.

    I was not affected financially by polygate, and I wont be requesting a refund, but doesn't mean I am not completely disappointed by how the situation was handled, or that I think other people have a right to request refunds for poor service.

    It would have been great to see an upgrade to arena fights where an attaching ship with the cloaking ability would begin battles already cloaked ? But who knows what kind of downstream effects on play that would have.
  • Just to update, CS basically said tough luck. Offered some of the boosts back, but no dil (Yar did not drop from packs, even though the packs were purchased to try and get her). Also nothing for leveling her.

    At this point, don’t think I want to waste any more time arguing with them. Besides, it’s DB management at fault and not much CS can do. Instead, will just stop spending money. Too bad, I was close to doing that already after the other recent episodes, so in practice don’t think it will change much.

    Was also thinking about leaving the game altogether, but let’s see how f2p goes. I still find some elements fun and may stick around for a bit till something better catches my fancy. Plus I am in a great fleet :smile:

    I thought a slight change might happen. However, to change her so much and with that timing was wrong. They could have put out a notice that explained the situation and said a change would happen in 2 weeks.

    The whole problem for me boils down to confidence in the game and in DB. That was the real problem with Picard-gate, too. And that is the issue with AND-gate.

    People are upset because we can't trust DB. They need to fix the trust issue more than give us stuff.

    I'm in the same boat. I leveled 2 Yars. I fused my 3rd after the nerf rather than level her up. I'm not being offered any compensation for leveling the same crew twice. I'm also not being offered anything for my "double your crew" offer that I purchased.

    I'm just going to fuse all 3 and cut my losses. I'm very disappointed onto how this was handled. I won't be purchasing any of their "offers" moving forward.

    And that’s another issue. Wildly different CS outcomes for similar issues.

  • They promised my boosts back, but gave me trainers. As if I need more of those. Pushed back, let’s see what happens.

    As far as spending goes, I have stopped monthly card as well. Debating whether I should stop add warps as well. Anyway my participation in the game is way down (mostly due to work), but am liking it and will probably keep it like this from now on.

    Here's an idea: You purchased 2 event packs which bought you 2xN% chance of getting a legendary character with a killer arena ability. DB nerfed Yar so the aforementioned character essentially no longer exists. Effectively, you paid dilithium to gamble on 2 pulls that ultimately had a 0% chance of dropping the character you wanted so you didn't get what you paid for.

    Shan's back soon, so this should get resolved within a day or two. In the meantime, I'm continuing to get some amusement from the people who were angry when they were affected by the Mirror Picard issue, but don't think this issue is at all important. For example:
