Chronitons vary by the equipment each character needs, so the amount is the same regardless of fusion level. Trainers are the same for all characters to level up from 1-100. Only Trainers may be used for leveling.
I'll write more later, but my escalation gave the same old tired injustice along with the same old incompetence (referring to a "graph" that they forgot to attach) and the same old point-ignoring.
Whether Shan was intentionally wasting my time with this ridiculous escalation, or accidentally wasting it, the effect has been the same.
Another layer of the stupid onion peeled. Another layer of idiocy revealed.
Thankfully another forum member has offered some help to me in taking this issue elsewhere. If nothing has happened by Thursday, after 28 days of time-wasting and incompetence from DB, their time is up.
When was your last reply from them ?
Today ?
Since the "try again, it'll be better" message ?
Have I missed something? Am I the idiot here? It takes the same amount of Chronitons to complete a 1/5 character as a 5/5 character, right? And Chronitons cannot be used for leveling - only Trainers?
That was my problem. They said they would refund a Yar for 650 Dilithium, the price of a pack. But, that would be a level 1 no gear Yar... as well as a level 100 FE Yar. Both valued at same compensation.
They have done nothing to compensate for all of the gear that was used leveling, as well as trainers AND credits. They were happy to take away any honor or schematics that were in the pack. But, not willing to return everything I put into the crew member.
I had:
5/5 Yar FFE
1/5 Yar FE
and 1/5 Yar level 90 I quit working on when they made the announcement.
The first duty of every Star Trek fan is to the truth, whether it's scientific truth, or event pack contents truth, or personal truth. It is the guiding principle on which Star Trek is based, and if you can't find it within yourself to stand up and tell the truth, you don't deserve to work on this franchise.
I been told by a few sources, that DB is incapable or at the very least not willing to actually refund money? not sure if that is true or not, but I would think citations would be way more equal then just refunding dil, which basically guarantees nothing.
I gave up on my ticket like a week ago, mainly because even thou I got yar, and was completely upset that they nerfed her after the fact, I had also got other legendaries in the pull, so would be counter productive for me to reverse those pulls, even thou I still technically feel ripped off.
I do kind of find it insulting, when you say, that the nerf was unavoidable but the timing was unfortunate. Unfortunate is a bit of an understatement really, seems a bit like trying to put the cat back in the bag, when the cat already drank all your milk ;p
I also find general promises less then reassuring. You will work on procedures to assure that things like this wont happen again, even thou experience has proven that is not the case, what measures exactly? how can we really trust any purchase moving forward from DB if it can literally be nerfed or changed 2 days later. Im also tired of hearing about the terms and conditions BS... cause that does not give license for misrepresentation or fraud.
That being said, I think the CS people are actually very nice and friendly, unfortunately I do not think they are provided with the tools to actually be effective, hence the frustration.
I mean maybe in hindsight, laying off half the CS staff was not the best of moves;) and may have been cutting nose to spite face.
Can I ask a simple question: Why the stinginess? There is no real cost to DB for anything they could offer you. Its all vapor. Wouldnt it make more sense to over compensate you than to make you claw for every chroniton?

Good question, they hide behind the theory of making sure there balance, but its not like it costs them anything to make a situation right, if they could just be consistent about it, and had communication, the balance thing wouldn't be an issue.
Balance? Bologna.
What Captain is asking for an unfair windfall in return for an error DB made?
Being denied reasonable compensation in a timely fashion in the name of balance is disingenuous.
And how would refunding the resources used to FE any single character affect the competitive balance across a game with thousands of users?
It wont, and it doesnt.

I'm going to hear the event pack line the next time I watch that now.

They refunded me with minimal fuss (for DB), had to go through the CS shenanigans, but I received a full refund for all three purchases. They took back the Yars, chrons, credits and honour gained, but I still retained my 4th Ross and the 3* Vash I'd FF, FE and stuck in the icebox from the pulls.
I'd have preferred 50k honour, a citation or pick from of a choice of other 5*s per Yar, but that wasn't on the menu despite it having meant them retaining my money.
What has been the result of this escalation...? Well my anger has certainly escalated, lol!
No-one I've talked to has seen any difference in the support offered this week compared to last week. It's baffling how stupid they are in banning accounts and alienating their customers! Even one of their biggest spenders has decided to stop spending after their experience with CS support last week! What do we think... are there people working inside DB to sabotage DB into bankruptcy? I haven't heard any other theories that fit the facts!
Things I will not be doing:
1. Personally fighting CS over what compensation I, as an individual, should be due as a result of this bait-and-switch
2. Surrendering my Polywater Yar or anything else I received from the packs I pulled to get her
3. Spending money on this game until DB makes this right somehow
I have to be honest and say that I miss spending money on this game. It was sometimes the highlight of my week. It makes me sad that I can't trust DB to not change things immediately after I purchase them, or to at least offer some satisfactory compensation if they feel they have to change things in such a manner.
I was given 2 premium 10x Boost pulls and 8290 chronitons and was allowed to keep Yar. I was content enough with this offer to call it resolved
I had received boosts back, but not Chrons, I have resubmitted for matching chrons, thank you for sharing your compensation as it should be public and consistent
I know there were/are still a lot of concerns/disappointments regarding this.
Please refer to our latest announcement, I will have more details to share on Monday.
I never put in a ticket because it sounded like nothing worthwhile would be done based on the lack of response initially and the responses from CS that started trickling in. I'm very interested in seeing what the resolution to this is and whether or not it's worth pursuing.
I suspect it could result in a whole new batch of tickets.
They either need to tweak her stats to make her as useful to another part of the game as she would have been to the arena, or make her stronger by giving everyone who has her another copy.
DB runs a script to figure how many copies of Polywater Yar every player has gotten, no matter if from packs or as event ranking reward, and grants 50k honor or 1 legendary citadation for every copy.
So f.e. if u got a 3/5 or 3x 1/5 u get 3 leg citadations, and so on. And it doesn t matter if you have dismissed ur Yar already or not.
But this would prob too good to be true, but one can wish...
I gave up and airlocked her after CS told me to pound sand -- know of several players who did the same as well. Hopefully the compensation will take into account folks who gave up on dealing with CS.
My favorite response to Polywatergate was from another player in eXo. She told CS in response to a very unsatisfactory ticket, "I'm favoriting Yar so she will be at the top of my crew list as a reminder of what my money gets me if I'm ever tempted to spend again." Burn.
Question - is compensation only being provided to players that spent actual $$ to acquire Polywater Yar?
I played extra hard that event to finish in the top-1000, for the sole purpose of acquiring Yar as a ranked reward. I didn't spend a cent, but I did invest my time, effort, and forgone sleep, in addition to speed boosts.
I have not submitted a ticket up until this point, but am contemplating doing so now.
My suggestions are as follows, keeping in mind that ‘gifts’ don’t cost DB anything, it’s all perceived value. And can very easily be recouped in the future...
Everyone gets 50K honor as an apology. That would appease players that went hard and spent just to try to get sub-1000 rank.
If you bought an event pack or up double up, you get 50K honor back for every copy you earned that way.
Each event pull at 650 dil gets 5K honor If you didn’t obtain PolyYar. 50K back for each pull where she was obtained.
If you scored sub-25th rank in the event, you get 50K honor for each extra copy.
And the important bit - nothing is taken from our accounts in exchange. We get to keep her and anything else earned from the attempts to earn her. That would be giving us, the customers, the benefit of doubt. I also feel these should be fairly easy database queries to run, which means reduced CS/ticket interaction needed and minimal time from the game programmers.

As someone who chose not to chase after Polywater Yar, knowing her proper original stats and all, good gravy there is no "benefit of doubt" as far as y'all who got her goes. None of y'all did anything wrong or even questionable - it's not like you deliberately bought, say, a broken pack. It is absolutely ludicrous that a reasonable compensation is taking a) this long, b) major high-level intervention, and c) that even trying to get it has resulted in this many players facing a wall of openly hostile "customer support" reps who seem to have been hired for the purpose of driving people away from the game.
Hopefully we will finally see a decent resolution to another self inflicted wound. As I’ve said from the beginning, 50k honor for each Yar, and this would have gone away.

Chronitons could be used to level Polywater Yar... But the amount of xp you get per mission would mean you'd probably still be at the right now! 😂

Interesting.
..very interesting.
I optimistically anticipate your next communication regarding this Shan.
