Dissatisfied Customer - pulling the rug out on Yar

  • I still don’t think this is fair. And I know I’ll probably be shot down for that opinion, but there it is. Here are a few things that this ‘offer’ doesn’t address:

    - What about players that tried to earn a sub-1000 rank, based on her stats, but failed.

    - What about the costs involved bringing her to fully equipped status? Off the top of my head that is 9.5K chronitons.

    - What about a trust-restoring, good will gesture, to apologise for the mistake in the first place AND the weeks it has been dragging on for?

    - Why does anything like this have to take the form of DB offering a tiny fraction of the true cost (time, resources, money) to players, and then only after several weeks do they offer 80% back?
This smacks of still not willing to accept full responsibility, not accepting when the customer is right and, as with many MANY previous issues, is an offering based on trying to silence the matter. Why not actually try to make the customer happy rather than just placated?

    I agree with this statement

I think the offer is intentionally meant to exclude a portion of the player base. Star Trek "collectors" want to have all the crew and they know those players won't take them up on the trade option. I spent extra because of her abilities including the $25 DYC offer. The OCD in me won't allow me to trade it in even though I would have no spent that money otherwise. I would have happily taken a single copy for being in the top 1,000 to cover my gotta-have-them-all as opposed to purchasing packs and DYC because of the pre-nerf abilities.

I'm happy for the players that accept the offer and are happy with the resolution, unfortunately that doesn't include me. Still, I'm surprised they did anything, no matter how marginal the resolution may be. That's a plus.

Trade in all but 1 for citations. You'll stick get to keep the single 1 for your collection, and you'll get a 5* citation for every extra one you spent for. Those citations on their own would cost more than the DIL or DYC that you spent.

I'm trading her in on all 4 of my accounts, collecting be damned. That card isn't worth anything now, so I'll hold a 1/5 to satisfy my OCD about pokemon-ing this game on Silver. There, I'm trading in 4/5 stars for 4 citations, and I'm trading in a 2/5 on my mini, a 1/5 on my VIP0, and a 5/5 on my other VIP14.

Wow! 4 accounts? I am amazed, that's some time put into playing (BTW trading in my single Polywater Yar copy from top 1000 reward).

The OCD in me won’t allow it. Once I have it I keep it. Plus, it’s not just Yar. It’s all the money I spent that I wouldn’t have spent. That’s the real missing component. A citation doesn’t make up for that. All I can say is thank God I never got one of those Assimilated Spocks. That would have made me completely crazy to have it taken away!

A 5 star citation is a pretty impressive offer. It is something I would willing pay money for. Given the choice of a DYC with all the equipment for a crummy legendary or a 5 star citation with none of the extras I would go for the citation every time.

There are few cards that I would not trade (even FE) for a legendary citation.

Losing a crummy card from your deck, freeing up a crew slot and getting a better card closer to immortal is a triple win in my book.

Most players have a honour debt they will never pay off. Alllowing them to trade a card for a citation would make for a very happy player base

The same problem here. I collect, and it is impossible for me to discard a single copy I received from purchased packs. While I understand the value of the offer, I am going to have to pass on an exchange.

Word for word, almost exactly the same sentiment for me. Just substitute “competing in an event” for “purchased packs.”

  • I also collect. And recently added her 5th star. For thos who say Polywater Yar is useless, I regulary use her on Shuttles during the week. She might not be used in the arena, But I am using her all the time.

I am glad that DB made this right, and I think it shows integrity that they were willing to put the needs of their customers first, definitively helped restore my faith in them. I appreciate all the CS who helped and dealt with the issue.

Useless or useful is something individual and depends on the crew people have. For you she is useful and if you like the card enjoy that. For me she is useless cause a) I am swimming in diplomacy characters (like most) and b) concerning command prime I have FO Burnham, Borg Queen and Commander Kira Nerys next to others. For me the main selling point, in the true meaning of the word, were her Arena abilities. They nerfed those, made good on that with the exchange offer - and I see that as the right move from DB.

Didn´t you have over 700000 honor some days back? So who got the honor to get your honor?

Everyone else should be offered/ask for the same compensation!

I opted for Killy, but I asked for Killy to be level 100 FE to match the level 100 FE Yar I was giving up.

Six weeks, or is it seven weeks now, and this is what they came up with as compensation?
As Admiral Pasty said above, you're still out 9600 chrons.
Its a very meager offer for anyone who invested resources in Polywater Yar.
Everyone who FE PolyYar is still being undercompensated.
Its quite clear that DB wanted to do nothing on this issue.
What does it take for DB to over-deliver on customer service?
Where is the "Customer First" policy?
You know where they are? The Delta Quadrant.

Small note, I got compensated 8300 (ish) chrons a couple weeks ago AND they let me keep Yar and now I got the citation as well trading in Yar. Might be able to get your rep to do the same

I submitted yesterday I wanted to exchange my 4 Yars for 4 citations. The citations were there this morning when I logged in. Loving that!
