  • On the updated sheet, choose File, Make A Copy. I sort both my copy and the updated master by Version, then Name. On the Crew tab, copy over the Column B, Active and Keep columns, one at a time. Then either copy or set the Missions and Settings tab choices to your progress.

I tried that and got this message when I pasted. "You can't perform a paste that partially intersects a merge."

Oh yeah, you have to delete the first 3 rows. The new title thing messes that up. Delete that first.

This must be something I'm doing wrong or someone else would have spotted it:

I'm trying to adjust the number of crew marked as keep for base. So I changed the default:

"Set the number of crew per skill that you want to be kept for the 'Best Active Skill' requirements." "Number of Best Active crew" "4" to "2" and nothing changed. So to try to test it I changed it up to "25" again no change in the recommendations. Then I changed down to "1" and again the recommendations of who to keep out remained the same. Anyone got any ideas what I'm missing here?

edited - I unchecked every setting and crew and re added it all. That seems to have done something - not sure what yet!

Ignore the above. Can't figure out how to delete this comment.

Just edit it with "Thanks Leshy!" :)

  • Since we now have the warp ticket on Riker missions, Do we still need to keep the two star active? I would really love to freeze them and open up some crew slots.
  • Nope, cryo them. As long as you have all of the stars, that is.

Thanks, fixed in the new version that is now up: just a few quick fixes and latest crew in.

He's showing as 5* on the current sheet. I believe you can safely change him on the Stats tab if yours doesn't show correctly. If you need to still, update to the new sheet and see if that helps.

I found a few differences with the sorting in game. I believe I found a few explanations:

Lwaxana troi is in fact troi
Quotes and other symbols are taken into acount by the sheet and not the game
some people are misnamed (among others Grayson and the insectoid) or considered separate persons as many in the our man bashir collection.

Considering discussion you made earlier would it be possible to add a sort column or something of the sort? I loose half a day every-time I notice I forgot to mark a crew as complete.

Also, there where a few missing people (as expected, the game evolves quickly)

Here are the differences I found, the game sorts:
Amanda grayson next to alexander (Amanda Grayson instead of Grayson)
Anastasia Komananov next to Amanda grayson (as Anastasia Komananov?)
Changeling Bashir next to General Change (as Changeling?)
B'tor Duras next to Benny Russel ( BEtor ?)
Boothby Replicant next to BEtor (as Boothby?)
Benny Russell after Bateson (as Benny Russel?)
The Caretaker next to Tash (as The Caretaker ?)
The Clown net to Lieutenant Chekov (as Clown?)

The Duras sisters next to Pah-wraith Cult Dukat (as Duras sisters?)
Desert Ezri Dax, Sniper Ezri Dax, Waitress Ezri next to The Duras Sisters as E.Dax?
Warship EMA next to Maquis Eddington (as EMA ?)
Mirror Ezri Tigan next to Etana Jol (E. Tigan ?)
Falcon O'Brien next to Mirror Ezri Tigan (Falcon ?)
Friar Tuck Data next to Ambassador Fox (as Friar Tuck ?)
Dr. Hippocrates Noah next to Herbert Rossoff (as Hippocrates?)
Lucille Davenport next to Klingon Janeway (as Janeway?)
Evolved Janeway next to Captain Janeway (missing)
Ambassador K'Ehleyr, Mirror K'Ehleyr next to Keevan (as KEhleyr?)

What I do is change the 'Variant of' in the Stats sheet to match what I want to search for. Here is a link to where I track what I change.

    https://bit.ly/2Ibf8si

Also, a Windows client (web, Facebook) seems to sort differently than an iOS or Android client with regards to characters with a single quote (') in their name. These name changes sort based off of the Windows client.

  • Thanks for all your efforts maintaining this spreadsheet @Leshy !

    Some more issues with collections:
    • Wild West has 7 reward tiers, spreadsheet says 6
    • Maid Marian was added to Sherwood Forest Collection, adding an extra tier
    • Delphic Expanse has 8 reward tiers, spreadsheet says 6
    • Lily Sloane is NOT part of Big Goodbye collection
    • Tucker On-The-Ropes, Mirror K'Ehleyr, Mirror Janeway and Augment Commander O'Brien are part of Timelines' Original collection. Number of tiers remains unchanged at 15.

It sounds like you're commenting that the sheet is using windows based sorting instead of whatever in-game based alphanumeric sorting. I believe this was brought up before (I know it's a long thread) but there's not a whole lot that can be done about how an OS (or even google sheets) sorts things alphabetically.

I have no idea what you could lose half a day trying to do, as a result of forgetting to mark a crew as complete??
  • PhantumPhantum ✭✭✭
Sorry if these have already been mentioned, I did not have time to carefully read all the new messages.
I found a problem with Mirror K'Ehleyr which affects collections and other things. You use two different forms of the apostrophe, K'Ehleyr in the crew list and K’Ehleyr in the Datasheet Originals collection.

Also, Mirror Janeway is not listed in the originals collection.

I have also had issues with the sorting order as mentioned by others. What I do now instead to avoid cutting and pasting is I keep a separate sheet with my crew, and instead of pasting this I populate your crew sheet values by searching for the crew in my own list. Then I only need to move my crew list each time you put out a new version, then I copy and paste my search formula to fill the tick boxes and notes in your crew sheet. I also keep other columns of info I keep track of in extra columns of my own crew sheet, for example, ship abilities and if the crew is in the portal. @Leshy if you are interested in seeing my sheet then message me, although you most likely could implement it better on your own seeing the efficiency of your calculations. Mine slow it down a bit.
  • Don't know if this has happened to anybody else, I tried downloading this to Excel, and it wouldn't carry over the XML properly. Would prefer to use Excel, since I'm much, much more familiar with it than Google Sheets. Any ideas?
  • Unless you are using Excel 2019, the functions probably won't work.

  • Hey @Leshy , I was just wondering about a suggested update for the DNA. Similar to how you have an 'Active' and 'Keep' column, how about adding an 'Event' column that allows people to quickly tick any crew that would provide a bonus in the event of the week/month. Then the reason column would show 'Event Crew' similar to how the 'Keep' column shows 'Marked as keep'. I know the 'Keep' column could provide this function but it would mean those with many crew members marked as keep might get confused as to why they are marked as keep.

Five of Twelve may need to be listed as a variant of Axum, as it is in-game.

    Finding which one.

There also where a few "hey, this one is new" and "hey this one is/is not a variant of X ingame."

On a side note: The amount of work put in that spreadsheet is awesome and the result is great too. In that case, it was a long message, but put in the grand scheme of the resulting spreadsheet a very little annoyance.

About the Do Not Airlock Checklist
The 'Do Not Airlock Checklist' is a Google Sheet that was originally created by TheAlchemyst. It was then added onto by several other people, the latest of which is yours truly. I have made some modifications and updates since that I hope will be of some use, and regularly add the new crew that keeps appearing in the game for some reason.

This thread follows on from two earlier threads on the previous forums. It is therefore numbered three.

    Most Current Version:
Do Not Airlock Checklist 3.06 (24 March 2019)

I just found out your sheet, Leshy (not very active in the forums). Great work, and thank you very much for your monumental effort in maintaining this!

Do you have an idea when the next update could be released? Do you usually do this every week, two weeks...? Is there any way one can help in adding the new weekly crew and fixing bugs, beside pointing them out here?

I was wondering about the API and if it will be reused. It's a pity that DB hasn't come out with the details and guidelines for it. Looking forward to how it goes.
A little while ago, azimon created a version of the spreadsheet that can connect to the API to retrieve crew stats to autofill the spreadsheet.

It's a pretty amazing piece of work and I shamefully have not had the opportunity to sit down and thoroughly test it and see how it could be best implemented.

Obviously if the sheet is going to ask for login details and is going to interact with the API (even just for pulling data), it could open a can of worms that I'm not certain yet that I want to open.
I found a few differences with the sorting in game.
The sorting in-game seems to go off an internal naming system for each crew that normally does not appear in the game itself, which you have indeed partially reconstructed in your post.

While I understand that it would be useful if the sheet could sort in the same order as the app does, I am a bit loathe to add yet another column of names to the sheet and to have to guess for each new crew whether the internal name corresponds in any way to what the crew is called. 'Profitable Ishka' being 'Moogie' is a pretty good one, for example.

It is an interesting suggestion and would not be hugely difficult to do.

However, it would add another column of checkboxes to the sheet and would require people to still manually fill in which crew are event crew for each weekend. It would already be possible to do that using the 'Notes' column as well (although it would not alter the crew's Recommendation, granted).

I would prefer to keep the interface (and calculations) as light and simple as possible; I am not sure whether the gain is really large enough to warrant extending the interface. Will definitely keep it in mind, though!

I generally try to have an updated version out with new crew and bug fixes about every two or three weeks. Features or larger changes are a bit more time-constricted.

In general, I am always happy to take suggestions on better ways of calculating or presenting things and see examples of how people use the sheet (feel free to share if you're doing something creative with it!).

If there's some great ways or ideas that I can steal pilfer make off with like a Ferengi borrow, I am always happy to consider them.

Incidentally, there is a new copy in the OP just now - thanks to everyone for reporting bugs, errors and changes!
  • Thanks @Leshy I agree that caution needs to be used on anything that interacts with the game code. The unnamed tool started out the same way and until safeguards are in place to prevent the issues it had, it's better to err on the side of caution. The login info, as long as it is contained within the spreadsheet that is protected by your Google account isn't such a risk. The bigger one is someone corrupting the code to achieve an unfair advantage or worse, cheat the game. Keep up the good work and as usual, if you need any assistance, I stand by to help!

Many Thnx 2 Leshy for creating this awesome resource ...
I'd like to mention a minor formatting issues i noticed in the last few versions ..

The Notes column is not set to font size 10 on the top cells (1701 Jadzia/Sisko) , it is for the lower ones ..

    I got a question ...
What is the best way to mark a Card that is FF but not yet FE ?
( i currently remove the number of stars entry so the NEED does not get messed up )

Not sure how Leshy wants to handle formatting on the original, but you can use the Paint Format options (looks like a paint roller) to copy just the formatting from one cell, onto the next cell\s you select. Also, you can select the entire column and select the format changes you want.
As for keeping track of characters I don't have FE/FF, I create 2 columns; Starred and Level to keep track of how many stars I've fused and what level they are at. Maybe that will help you.

I dont want to change the formatting ... i am informing that the base formatting is incorrect in the top cells of the column ... somewhere along the development the font size of the top cells of the notes column got changed to 8, where the rest of the column is 10 ...

And i forgot to mention that i already use the notes column to keep track of the level status, which i used to do in a more complicated way with level & fusion coding in the notes column, which got obsolete with the v3 formatting of the DNA list, with the awesome addition of fusion based calculation on cards...
This got easier with the stars column, it just seems counter-intuitive for me to blank the entry because otherwise the sheet assumes the card to be FE if you FF it .
