I'm probably going for threshold and out. I'm trying to hold my horses and not get a new 1/5 weekly, unless it's truly a want or a need. Icheb is neither at the moment... With last event, while I adore Seven, I need to level the ones I have and that meant basically sitting on my fingers after first 8 something hours to get down from being at 200 something to 2200 something, as what I needed was 3 stars for Nog.

Which was why I looked it up, also never having heard anything about. Which isn't shocking. C-list actors tweeting stuff isn't usually on my radar.
I have a prediction, the revelation of which came to me after spending dilithium in the Gauntlet and only being rewarded worthless items: Lt. Commander Icheb will be the long awaited Eng gauntleter that can challenge Caretaker in that stat...but LtCheb will only have two skills and the proficiency on his second skill will be worthless (like Gunshow Picard's tertiary bad). I have spoken.

That takes it to another level, and yup...I'm glad it's not him being represented in the game this week. Obviously this doesn't reach Stephen Collins levels, but I'm hopeful I'll be able to dissociate character from actor on my next rewatch.

If we were just talking about watching the show (or TMP, in the case of Stephen Collins), then you might have an unassailable point. But if we get a new version of Icheb, perhaps a Drone version or some other one that doesn’t use a one-off older actor, then every pack purchase sends some kind of money to the bank account of someone who has made light of sexual assault (at the very least). If you’re fine with that...well, that’s on you. Go play the Hey Song, buy a copy of Apocalypto, rent the 7th Heaven complete Blu-Ray box set, and stream a bunch of Roman Polanski films if you really want to double down on not being bothered by the bad behavior of artists and celebrities.
The rest of us will be more careful if DB chooses to release a new Icheb variant, and hope that we don’t see Will Decker in the game until after Stephen Collins is dead and buried.

I’m feeling the same way but have been chalking it up to nothing really being able to compare to the TOS mega, at least in my opinion. Most mega events end with me having immortalized their recurring legendary and maybe having one or two of the other featured legendary crew at 1-2/5*...I had Garth, Kirk, and McCoy all immortalized by the end of the month plus Uhura at 2/5* and Spock at 1/5*.
Although I have liked the crew thus far this time around, I’m not feeling the same urge to go nuts in the remaining events and don’t yet even feel how everyone is connected.

Skirmish event doesn't matter past a single crew.
Hybrid matters a little in the first half, but will be dominated by galaxy half which only really need the featured crew and maybe one or two other.
Full galaxy is the same issue.
The final week of full faction is the only event where all the bonus crew will be used. But you're competing for a flashback or replay crew not a mega crew.
So unless I really like/need the 5* from after the mega, there was no need to pull most of my crew out of the vault.
1) We've had three weeks to stockpile shuttle boosts.
2) We've had two skirmishes in three weeks to farm galaxy event items.
3) With all those resources floating around, the prize is Icheb.
Anyone got a guess about how this will play out?
I don't see Icheb having 3 skills, that being said DB could pull a trick on us like they did with Admiral Forrest recently.
I see a lot of people unexcited about another 4* Burnham. I think they're wrong and that she's the star of the show this weekend. First, she has to be sci/sec/something, that's how most mirror cards worked so far and sci/sec is always nice. There are other sci/sec astrophysicists and DB tries to limit skill diversity within megas these days. Then, we're getting 4 stars on her and she's featured every other month. Getting good event crew is always good news.
So this should play out as "finally a quiet week" with most people stopping around 130k. I think a lot of us need a break from rank 1500 and this sounds like the perfect opportunity.

I'm in similar agreement faction is mainly where it counts, however I did find it a relief being able to power level the influx of crew you get at the start of a mega which is a welcome relief to previous schedules, it does also mean you can delay throwing down the citation on the mega legendary or at least waiting to see how much honor you get from the skirmish. Also thawing crew out more gradually is an advantage this format provides.
Similarly, the only thing that will keep me playing competitively in week 4 would be if I have to score rank to secure the final copy of Durango Troi I need, I have a sneaking suspicion that a flashback will indeed be the case and well considering most will have a copy from the introduction to the campaigns, it may not be a pretty event to try and get a final copy of her.

I really hope we can avoid STT degrading into the politics of actors personal lives and decisions years after the show, we're playing the game to celebrate the characters and fictional tv show for entertainment. I could not care less personally about the actors personal lives and would prefer such discussions be broken out to separate discussion topics, or perhaps in the non-STT board so we can stay focused.
Tpol is a good gauntlet character, finally replaced my mirror phlox as a go-to med-sec gauntleteer so she was a good mega legendary for me, as well as being the only tpol variant with MED. Seven was also a decent variant for a crew who has some pretty weak crew for shuttle stats, with some potential voyage utility for some people. Picard has a new maximum stat in the game so I have a hard time understanding how anyone could be disappointed by a main cast crew with lots of events with a game-max base score. That does not happen too often.
Of course if you're not a fan of the particular characters that's understandable, but these legends seem to have above average utility so far for a mega. I would not say any of them are worth tanking an event yet. We'll just have to see Icheb's stats/utility, since he's not main cast (and may not have many future variants due to this conversation).
edit: forgot to mention, I love the slow-thaw that this mega's event type sequence allowed, and having one full faction and one hybrid allows you to choose how much you'd like to invest in shuttle speed boosts and rentals over chrons for the hybrid for more flexibility in your available resources. I guess those who don't like it must want 2 full factions in a mega? No thanks I like flexibility to choose what kind of resources to invest.

Ditto. I think it has to do with the lack of focus on this one. I'm not even really sure what the theme is. Compared to the last Mega, that was TOS-themed and featured some outstanding on-point crew (I think every member of the TOS bridge crew was represented by a new card), and this one just sorta falls flat for me.

Getting good event crew is always good news.
So this should play out as "finally a quiet week" with most people stopping around 130k. I think a lot of us need a break from rank 1500 and this sounds like the perfect opportunity.
I'm in similar agreement faction is mainly where it counts, however I did find it a relief being able to power level the influx of crew you get at the start of a mega which is a welcome relief to previous schedules, it does also mean you can delay throwing down the citation on the mega legendary or at least waiting to see how much honor you get from the skirmish. Also thawing crew out more gradually is an advantage this format provides.
Similarly, the only thing that will keep me playing competitively in week 4 would be if I have to score rank to secure the final copy of Durango Troi I need, I have a sneaking suspicion that a flashback will indeed be the case and well considering most will have a copy from the introduction to the campaigns, it may not be a pretty event to try and get a final copy of her.
Tpol is a good gauntlet character, finally replaced my mirror phlox as a go-to med-sec gauntleteer so she was a good mega legendary for me, as well as being the only tpol variant with MED. Seven was also a decent variant for a crew who has some pretty weak crew for shuttle stats, with some potential voyage utility for some people. Picard has a new maximum stat in the game so I have a hard time understanding how anyone could be disappointed by a main cast crew with lots of events with a game-max base score. That does not happen too often.
Of course if you're not a fan of the particular characters that's understandable, but these legends seem to have above average utility so far for a mega. I would not say any of them are worth tanking an event yet. We'll just have to see Icheb's stats/utility, since he's not main cast (and may not have many future variants due to this conversation).
edit: forgot to mention, I love the slow-thaw that this mega's event type sequence allowed, and having one full faction and one hybrid allows you to choose how much you'd like to invest in shuttle speed boosts and rentals over chrons for the hybrid for more flexibility in your available resources. I guess those who don't like it must want 2 full factions in a mega? No thanks I like flexibility to choose what kind of resources to invest.
Ditto. I think it has to do with the lack of focus on this one. I'm not even really sure what the theme is. Compared to the last Mega, that was TOS-themed and featured some outstanding on-point crew (I think every member of the TOS bridge crew was represented by a new card), and this one just sorta falls flat for me.
