I'm tempted to be hopeful for an easier rank because Elnor doesn't look very useful. The only problem is that I agree with the above. I'm not fond of the show or characters so Raffi is a pass for me. I'll take Soji, but only because she looks like a useful mega 5*. It kinda looks like sitting out the event and keeping Crons for leveling in skirmish is the sound choice.

I look forward to the 3* Airiam, that's about it.
If u want a 3* Airiam you clearly need to wrap up more than 130k so u ll get a 4/4 Raffi as well, or do you mean you will just dismiss her regardless?
130k will do. I cannot be bothered with a full Galaxy for 2skill Elnor or worthless 3* Airiam.

Depends... I often wait until Saturday/Sunday to get started. This save me the effort of getting into higher tiers of VP rewards for both builds and rares twice. Plus I can finish the event with just 1 supply kit.
But it all depends on how much time I have and how much I want to compete. Most weeks, I aim to finish around 1000 so this works fine. I have no interest in trying to go for insane VP needed for top 20/50 finish which would require me to play all 5 days to have any chance. So starting late is not an issue. This week, on the other hand, I no interest in the 2-skill mediocre 5-star, so I might just play a bit in the evening and be done with the event.
Depends on your crew if Raffi was sec com I may have waited as I don't have Nhan, however as I am going for just threshold it really won't make a difference though.
The chrons to level her versus the super rares earned probably won't be worth it or break even at best. I will however wait for my interfaced la forge who is immortal to return from his voyage however.

Is Airiam the miscoded Crew for the Event? 33,540 Points and my Immortalized Airiam has not shown up once in the "top four" to do a Crafting.
That sounds really strange. She's doing about 80% of the job for me. The rest goes to FFed Scrooge McData. Soji is right now 2/5 and Level 60, she's beginning to take over some of the work.

For me, it was Scrooge Data doing the majority of the work, then Airiam in a close second. But when I leveled up Soji and gave her another star, she and her daddy are sharing the load. Nhan picks up little bits and pieces here and there. I haven't leveled up Raffi yet.

Does anyone wait until the community rewards drop the 1st star for the threshold 4* before you begin crafting in earnest, or do you just jump in?
I just jump in. Between 0 and 25k VP, I was using my immortal Juliana Tainer and 2/5* 007 Bashir kind of a lot, but after that Soji started doing a lot of the heavy lifting.

I’ve noticed that some of her rare reward percentages seem low. She’s still the top option for relevant builds but is often under 70% even when her primary skill is involved.
Is anybody besides me having trouble getting Logs to drop from supply missions? Last week, those Baseballs were coming along right in line with their expected drop %'s, no issues. But this time, I'm either having an unending streak of bad luck or there's something actually wrong. By using upgraded Airiam, Asha, Musiker, some strong Cyberneticists, and crew with the right trait bonuses, my expected reward rates range from 30%-60%. Yet, in actual practice, I'm only averaging Log drops roughly 5%-10% of the time. Is it just me...?

I haven’t seen any issues, there are a few builds that even Airiam only gets 60%.

Thanks for responding, it's helpful to compare notes. For what it's worth, Ship Logs seemed to drop a little more predictably for me on the second day. Still well below average, but enough to tell that it must've just been a lousy run and not a glitch.

This is probably the best place to ask a basic question about events in general (this being the second one I've ever done). How does a person scroll through the Leaderboard, to see how many VPs are needed to get into higher-ranked tiers? I've been able to view the top 50 players, and "Find Me" lets me view another group of myself + 49 players...but I need to see where the cutoffs are to possibly climb ranks towards better rewards. A game like this obviously thrives upon players spending extra $$$ when it'll give them enough push to hit certain goals...I just don't know how to access the information. Thanks sincerely for any tips you can give me, since this phase ends in less than 12 hours and I need an idea of how many more VPs I should go for

That is unfortunately not a static number. Aside from the two views (top and personal) there is no direct way to see the entire ranking. The easiest way to get a general idea of where it currently stand is to ask your starbase ans hope someone near your target rank will tell you how many VP they have. This question can also be asked in the UC.
It's a mega, so you can expect some increased participation. But the 5* is a 2 skill card. So fair money says a lot of people will threshold and stop. 3* Airiam is new so a fair number of people will want to get her just to collect. Knowing your target rank some one can give you a good general ballpark. But it's not based on targets, it's based on placing, like a marathon.
As Examinus said, it is not a static number. The "Legendary Break", for instance, changes as people move up and down. Sometimes, within an active Event, people will post a screenshot, when they are at or near the current Legendary Break.
Another variable in a Galaxy Event is the SuperRares that drop from Crafting. If you do not "cash in" any during the first Phase, they start off much higher after the Phase Change. Some people actually wait until the last few minutes Monday, and then cash in hundreds, to move up the Ranked Rewards........
"The truth is like a lion; you don't have to defend it. Let it loose; it will defend itself."
@Septani Ainalrami, if you ask about some specific rank targets, the forum can give you some rough estimates for vp needed at the end. Doesn’t matter if you’re aiming for top 25 or top 3000 - someone on here will have a ballpark for you.
Quick snapshot of how SuperRares can change things.
Starting Rank: #3162, with 236,740 Points
SuperRares on hand: 260
Points added outside SuperRares cash in: 125
Extra SuperRares earned to finish a final set: 4
Rank after cash in: #2101, with 320,145 Points

I roughly estimate super rares as worth 100K VP per 300 super rares. This is not completely accurate, but holds true the more you have and is a good simple estimate. When I compete for top 1500, I go for 350 or 400K VP and then turn in all my super rares to get over 600K VP. Top 1500 can be as low as 550K and as high as 700K, but is usually around 600K in a galaxy event.
Thank you for the info, all. While I'm aware that the rankings constantly fluctuate in terms of VPs, I had also assumed it was possible to periodically check how far away certain benchmarks are atm. I've played several other games where this sort of information is made available...the creators rely upon the extra revenue generated, when players make enough extra impulse purchases to push themselves up to clearly defined ranks. This happens most often just before an event/competition is about to end, since the target numbers are relatively static and purchasers have firmer ideas of how much more to buy.
Although I appreciate your suggestions about comparing notes with other players, I'm frankly shocked that the creators of Timelines don't provide more transparency with the Leaderboards. Allowing players to make an informed plan of attack, by tracking the ever-changing variables in order to achieve and/or maintain one's ranking, is such a time-tested moneymaking device for so many companies. I guess maybe it's refreshing that TP isn't as hard-sell as all that...? But at the same time, a player like myself isn't getting very invested in an event where purchases may or may not even spell success. Oh well

I've had some similar thoughts. For the time I have been playing, this game seems set up to always have some form of blind spot. There is almost always an element of risk. This game doesn't allow a lot of micromanagement.
For every person who holds back due to uncertainty, there is likely another player spending more than the bare minimum to reach their target rank. I've seen a lot of post about spending a lot to get a character or rank high. There are definitely enough people throwing more at the game blindly to make up for people holding back.

Airiam is definitely getting a workout along with Interface La Forge, Raffi, Nhan and Soji. I was using a Bashir for med until Soji appeared.

Also, it occurs to me: Are we denying Airiam's post-engineered humanity by calling her pre-enginered self "Human Airiam"? That seems kinda wrong.
This is kind of Tribunal Like, all over again. New 3 🌟 Crew, with an inappropriate name. Other choices would have been much better........
Tourist Airiam
Holiday Airiam
Honeymoon Airiam
Elopement Airiam {Video kinda sounded like they eloped}
Vacation Airiam
Beach Airiam
Joyous Airiam
Love-Struck Airiam
Eight options popped into my head in like two minutes......
Here’s how the rankings look at thresholds.
