But even as critical as I am of this entire pack format, I don't think it's fair or constructive (or especially mature) to characterize an omission of a request for feedback as protecting a dev with a fragile ego.
Wait a second... You're telling me there's actually a "Pack-master"? I thought I had invented this mythical creature and their childish overreactions to our negativity!
I did think my over-the-top caricature of a floundering employee demanding that Shan stop requesting feedback was easily identifiable as humor, but hey, I do apologize if it went over your head. After all, Shan started the thread - obviously it was for feedback purposes. And I imagine there's a team rather than an individual working on these new packs. Or do you know something we don't?
Although I think the coincidence about the poor 490 packs is a bit too strong - surely they were pushing us to their Collection Packs this month.
Edit: actually, looking back, it does look like I implied Shan deliberately tried not to engender feedback. In case it's not obvious from the fact that she started the thread: I'm sorry, Shan, of course you wanted feedback!
It was not obvious at all to me, and maybe others, that this was humor - hence why it was moderated.
Conveying intent with written text, especially on forums, is hard - something we all fail at from time to time and that we should keep in mind when posting
Besides, it's a foregone conclusion we'll give feedback even if it isn't requested. Or invited. Or wanted.
Purpose of a forum:
75% game feedback
10% dev announcements
10% community socializing
5% other
And let me tell you about that "5% other". You have to include that. Otherwise, it details the game feedback and makes it other feedback. Then there's feedback to that feedback and you get a feedback loop that sounds like audio feedback. Does that sound like too much feedback? It isn't. Because this is a game forum and that's what it's for.
Apparently, that 5% doesn't include warning players of this game about the probability that their shared online resources to help one another play this game may be hit with DMCA complaints just for including names from Star Trek, unless you make a habit of checking the Holodeck for "off-topic" threads.
Anyway, I guess y'all won't have to worry about competing with me this week. I don't see much point in participating. 24 hours ago, I was excited about getting a fourth star for Soji. That was before I tried to warn players of this game about the probability that their shared online resources to help one another play this game may be hit with DMCA complaints just for including names from Star Trek was banished to the Holodeck for "off-topic" threads.
While it’s been livelier in The Holodeck in recent weeks, it is indeed where threads go to die. Perhaps it will take a mass exodus of paying players who have lost resources like the Wiki, Big Book, Level 100 Spreadsheet, and others to really drive the point home?

Can we all take a step back, stop viewing things negatively and assume intent?
The Holodeck is not where discussions are banished to.
There is a lot of noise on these forums, trying to keep things relevant and in their correct place is not always easy, especially when I have to juggle many things at the same time.
If you feel I put that particular discussion in The Holodeck too hastily wouldn't be more productive/helpful to send me a PM so we can discuss it? Then we could have come up with a solution like having a title that is more relevant to what The Bridge is for, and framing the content/context differently?
And we'll finally get that ship-sorting function for voyages!
Err... heeeyyy! I totally called it! Yup, definitely called it. Wasn't sarcasm. I was definitely right when I definitely said that and definitely meant it.
Darnit, I should have said "New Gauntlet Legendary"! Is it too late? NEW GAUNTLET LEGENDARY!
I had some excitement from the three packs I pulled hunting for Rios:
-1 Rios
-1 Burnham (honor)
-1 Hugh
-1 behold with a first star for Away Team Burnham, a sixth star for T’Kuvma, and a sixth star for the Mobile Doctor
That Doctor plus the 4/4* Indulgent Seven that was patiently waiting in her alcove finally yielded my first Indulgent Seven. The interesting part is that the DYC triggered not off the Mobile Doc (whose behold came before a straight drop of Hugh), it triggered on Indulgent Seven instead:
I’m not doing it because I don’t want to sift through all of the unique equipment that’s going to take up inventory space, but it is fascinating to see the DYC logic account for a merge crew rather than just trying to dump another Doctor at my feet.

Did it just happen to hit your timer just right?
It’s not impossible, I did nab another 007 Bashir from the discount pack yesterday. Just seems like an awfully narrow time window to hit, given that it was only minutes between the Doc’s behold and completing their fusion.

That's something to keep in mind, though. Next time there is a fusion crew, I may wait for the window to re-open before I fuse.
Regarding La Sirena's schematics, it was an oversight and it should be corrected later today!
I guess I'll have to hope for those last 140 Valdore schematics to pop up in recap packs. I'll take that over chucking 460 of them in the replicator.
I'm 425/1800 on the last level of maxing the Valdore. This would have helped but would not have put me over the top.
EDIT: The 2* Jem'Hadar ship will be 6/7 after this so that's something.
I'm curious... Would you rather have the new ship or be closer to finishing the Valdore?
The new ship, but I barely have a preference.
Though I wasn't brokenhearted (but was confused) that the La Sirena schematics weren't in the threshold rewards. Until it's in the portal it won't get maxed out and even then I'm not worried about that division of Arena.
They added La Sirena schematics in addition to Valdore schematics. That’s nice.
That's pretty sweet. They cut the Valdore schematics in half to 300 and we get 450 La Sirena schematics. That's a pretty good deal in my book. I get a new ship and the other will be maxed. I'll probably try the Valdore just for a change of pace. I don't expect it to beat the Krayton's time, though.

Please not the wiki!!!!! That page is a godsend

Hmm, is this a mistake or new policy, to not hand out the new ship in the rewards?
I think this is the first 4* ship to be added during a skirmish. I think it's more "uncharted territory."

Thanks for the timely intervention, and also the way you fixed it: both sets of schematics
No, but there is another Burnham whose Head icon looks almost the same as Fugitive Burnham. I made that mistake on first battle
