We've also had extended milestones and a new collection in the vault, changes to inventory, the addition of limited time achievements, a care package regularly during this nonsense, new content on our regular schedule, prompt customer service, and all while trying to bring their new staff members up to speed. Have I forgotten anything? Other than a glitch where I didn't get my second * for The Clown, it has been pretty good. I would like some slots and a sale though.

I'm just happy that the game is up and running and there is still a flow of new content. I am concerned that current events will delay some of those QoL changes that we want later, though.
Yes. Also while the team size got larger with the switch to TP it is still TINY for game development standards. So kinda massive things will take time in any kind of circumstance...
I am playing another game where the whole team is 3 people. Now that is tiny!!!
Edit: Let's just hope there isn't a new trait with this ship.
Maybe La Sirena will be the 4* ship that breaks the Borg Sphere's iron grip on the Captain Division in Arena (but then also completely replaces the Sphere making that Arena division just as bad as it is now)?
It'll take about two years for this to happen if La Sirena is actually useful. Even then, what projects to be useful in isolation can be pretty lame in widespread use.
Valdore on paper looked like a Krayton killer. It's even pretty good on attack. But between the novelty effect and being super weak defensively, it's hardly made a dent on the admiral meta-game.
Arena and ships in general have been greatly under-serviced in the game. I'd almost say arena is the weakest feature, but scans and dabo also exist. Another marginal strength of arena, it's so lame I don't care about the DBNG, unlike gauntlet.

I've completely stopped caring about commander and captain division. The rewards are useless. I only marginally care about admiral for the sake of completing a 5* ship with a trait I might need for Voyages. Other than that the area is 5 battles I do quickly just to get the 200 daily honor. The only good thing to be said about it is at least you don't have to wait 3 hours between battles like you do for scans.
This event could be pretty great for a new player. If they have a good 2* ship or a mediocre 3* ship, then they can fight their way up to that La Sirena.
It just occurred to me that 4* schematics aren't in the threshold rewards, unless they do something different this time.

It doesn't have to necessarily just replace the Sphere, if it's designed better to defend against the Sphere without also being designed to overpower it. Whether that much strategic planning goes into it, of course, we'll have to wait another few days to learn. I know the cynics among us are already hitting the quote button so they can snark about how the devs do the opposite of putting thought into anything about this game, but despite what my therapist might say, I'm an optimist.

For the Hybrid Skirmish in this Mega TP swapped out the 2* schematics in Thresholds for the 4* schematics. I noticed because that was the only 2* ship I don't have maxed.

Yes, there were a total of 125 schematics for the 4* Borg Sphere 878 in the thresholds. It took 115 to build it out to Level 1. 🖖
EDIT: I was wrong about the number of schematics needed to build it from Level 0 to Level 1. I believe the correct number is 450, and that the 115 number is for advancing it to Level 2. I apologize for any confusion I may have caused. LLAP

they did a really nice job giving us many of the great characters from Picard. I appreciate it and enjoy having them.
Jean-Luc Picard: "We think we've come so far. Torture of heretics, burning of witches, is all ancient history. Then, before you can blink an eye, suddenly, it threatens to start all over again."
I'm wondering if we might be getting a new 3 🌟 this week to go with Human Airiam. Considering the specific name-dropping in the post Event dialogue.........
"The truth is like a lion; you don't have to defend it. Let it loose; it will defend itself."
Overall, this has been the worst mega I can remember - definitely the worst since the addition of the 390 packs.
I'm going to leave out any PIC criticism, because clearly the show is still finding its feet. Heck, I didn't like Bashir in DS9 S1! But while you can excuse a lot of the show's mistakes from it being the first season, this is... what, Mega Event #20?
The first two weeks were undermined by those terrible, terrible Tuesday packs, the "demerit" packs - at a time when the game should have been generating excitement and entertainment for Trek, on the heels of PIC and building up to Disco's S3. And when we provided the requested feedback (which unsurprisingly turned out to be 100% negative), we get told that our feedback actually turns out to mean two things: jack, and forum filter. I wouldn't be surprised if the new Pack-master took our 100% negative feedback personally and that's why we subsequently got such an awful Tuesday pack and only one Cyberneticist pack each week.
Sure, those 490 packs can be hit or miss, but we've had two across three weeks of the mega, where we'd have had either four or six in previous megas. And did we get a legendary Data, La Forge or Crusher in any either of them? No legendary bridge crew at all.
In other megas, this wouldn't be so terrible, as we'd simply have a larger stockpile of dilithium to throw at the 390 packs at the end. Usually those packs usually have an excellent character or two, but in this case, the best of a bad bunch is Saru - a decent Voyage score, a Bridge Crew with good Voyage points and a very good Dip base, even if it's unfortunate timing considering Soji has the same skills. Hugh isn't terrible - but we'll get back to him later. Nhan - remember her? Did you even know her name before this mega? Without variants or a guarantee of bonus eligibility, she's not going to set the world on fire. And then Sec/Com Elron. Zzzzzz.
The super-rares don't fare much better. No Gauntlet usability means insta-freeze for them, although Jurati's skill-set is useful for newer players, sitting slightly behind 2018's Sarina Douglas. And what stands out about all of the new super-rares and legendaries is that this mega has the Cyberneticist trait as the bonus trait. And yet, not a single new cyberneticist has any meaningful bonus in any of the four events. Let's just list all both of the new cyberneticists:
Jurati
Hugh
Jurati would get a small bonus in her event - but she'd have the full bonus anyway, because it's her event. Well, at least she's ready for next week... no, it's a Skirmish. But at least we have Hugh! Hugh, who had the potential to introduce a fantastic skill set, and didn't. Hugh, who could have been Braxtoned, but wasn't. Hugh, who's a slightly lesser Honored Owosekun without nearly as much event potential. But as a cyberneticist, couldn't he at least enjoy a few weeks of bonus in his own mega? Nope, he gets the Skirmish, where he's unlikely to be seated anyway. His Sci base is unremarkable, but at least it's a rarity for the Borg. But that's the theme of this mega, really - try to scrape something positive out of the missed opportunities, the failures, the lack of care.
And that's it. The Cyberneticist Mega that introduced two cyberneticists when their trait makes no difference.
It would have been so easy to do this mega far better, even with these crew. Introduce Hugh in the first week, instead of the last. Make Jurati a legendary instead of Elnor. Two Cyberneticist packs a week - and, hey, maybe with popular legendaries? That's without messing with skill-sets or demanding a 4K Voyager - it's just common sense. The last mega gave us AoS Worf (surely the best Worf!) and Twilight T'Pol, a Gauntlety bridge crew with a rare skill-set, on top of a Seven of Nine with decent numbers (finally!). The Absolute TOS mega gave us such great, lasting crew with excellent skill-sets and numbers, like Laborer Kirk, Seeking Spock and Torpedo McCoy. This mega is just absolute toss.
But, in sticking with the theme, at least Soji is pretty good!
I liked it. A good distribution of Picard and Discovery crew. We got all of the major Picard characters. We got a storyline that tied in to Picard. A good mix of events with factions breaking it up so less clicking. It was disappointing to have just one 490 cyberneticist pack a week but I liked finishing my Mudd. Elnor was only two-skilled but did anyone expect different from his character? Soji is a good addition to my crew. I am happy with the Mega.
Well I was very wrong about the $10 legendary offer... it's Mambo Picard!
Should I snag a 3rd star?
I did - he’s one of the few partially-fused 5* crew that I still send on voyages these days, even at 2/5* (now also 3/5*). And for people who don’t have him at all, those proficiencies are nothing to sneeze at.
I think I found one of La Sirena's traits. Can't say that I'm happy about it. @Banjo1012 requested that this not happen. (Unless I'm mistaken and this has been in the game and my memory is failing.)
