Would it be possible for you to put her next to North Star Archer on your Bridge?

Hey! Macrocephaly is a real thing... leave Chapel alone and stop head shaming her !!! 🙃🙃🙃

  • So I love that Leo is the first SCI/ENG/MED we've had. And he's wonderful.
I like the Cmdr. Chapel, but I'm a little disappointed she's not MED primary.
I mean working in medicine is literally her biggest role, not science, nor command, nor diplomacy.
So I really don't understand the decision to make her SCI primary.

All in all, I'm pleased, just that I wish more thought went into choosing Chapel's skills properly though.

Kind of a toss up and I can see why they went with science. Even going on the show info from http://www.startrek.com/database_article/Chapel

"sacrificing a biology career with several university degrees in research medicine"

So, lots of research in her background.

Threshold rewards have been corrected, thank you for bringing this to our attention.

This is a good example of having the information available in the app such that mistakes can be identified and rectified before the start of the event.

I hope that event crew lists will be available in the app too, prior to events.

I think that a possible reason she's not MED primary is that she was only used as basic crew on Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home and she really did nothing "healery" apart from relaying information and... doing nothing much else. Still, with 739 SCI/546 MED before rolls and starbase boosts, so I think it's not so bad. She could still work decently for voyages. Another reason for that could be the fact that we already have a Doc Chapel... Making two super rares, one with MED as single stat/skill, and another with MED/Secondary/Tertiary would invalidate the single skill crew.

I am not defending DB, because I have stated multiple times that they happily run themselves into a corner with barely any means of getting out in any semblance of a logical manner.
  • Can't wait to get Chapel now just so I can put her next to President of Earth and Ilia Probe on the bridge.

Maybe if they were stuck onto a big square card background we wouldn't notice it so much...

I just hope that this amazing character doesn't turn out to be another generic ENG/SCI crew. Leonardo was a genius and his stature in STT must absolutely reflect that.
That true though? Remember that this is a holographic representation of Leo, not the real thing. Can that be as "genius" as if the real Leonardo were actually time shifted forward? And how good an engineer can he be when he's limited to knowledge that's centuries old? Give him a couple of years in Starfleet academy and sure he'd be up to snuff, but the guy currently knows how to build hang gliders out of wood. :)
Hmm...I stand corrected: "Leonardo da Vinci has developed structural integrity field modifications that could increase ships' maximum warp..."

I guess the riposte to that (and I'm playing devil's advocate) is that there are very long periods of time between the various Star Trek series from which we gain characters. TOS and DS9 are 200 years apart, so by that logic Spock or Scott would have a vastly inferior knowledge of science or engineering when compared to, say, Dax or Rom. Probably even the stupidest engineer from DS9 would be better than most from TOS. I suppose we can assume that (a) their knowledge is based on the point at which they were plucked from game or (b) we all need to willingly suspend our disbelief because this is play ability and we're all playing a game.

Did anyone else notice the Ranks required for the 5* changed a little. It used to be top 15 for 2 copies, now it's top 25...which would have been helpful last week when I finished 18, lol.

I could be wrong but i believe the top 25 rewards are different in factions than in galaxies?

The rewards are roughly the same in galaxies and factions. I have also never remember a time when rank 2 through 5 all get 4/5 Legendaries.

Correct, rewards are a tad different for the events. Top 15 for 2 in galaxy vs top 25 in shuttles. Also top 75 will get a 10x pull in galaxy vs top 25 in shuttles. Roughly that stays the same but has varied before

    Oh. Well, nevermind then. :)

I honestly never noticed the difference before. I was hoping they had listened to folks and at least tried to modify the structure so more people had a crack at the 5*.

I wonder if they could do something like keep top 1000 but top 1500 maybe you get the gold but not the purple. Some sort of change. And top 50 is as tough as top 25 use to be now. Some changes would be welcomed.

I'm just glad someone got the reference! Wasn't sure how popular it was outside the UK
  • So we chose to use the official promotional shot for reference. It was a judgment call.
Excuse me if I'm missing something, but if you used the promotional shot as the basis for the art, shouldn't the stripe and collar be olive and not white? Just a little confused...

The whole get the gold and not the purple thing was a big pain in the **tsk tsk** back before Cumulative Rewards and was source of frustration as people 'tanked' trying to get one not the other etc. Don't mess with cumulative rewards. The structure is good now, the values need to be tweaked

I would just increase the ranges by 500. Top 1500 get legendary and super rares. There are so many people now all with good crew that top 1000 is very difficult for many people. So much so that they give up trying and quit.

They need to make it percentage based as we've all been saying for quite sometime now. Now that the game has more players than ever, rewarding only the top 1000 can no longer cut it if DB wants to ensure people will spend and strive in events.

Like I've spent a very substantial amount on this game, probably nowhere near what those in eXo or BL spend, but still, I have acquired a very strong crew and even I have trouble breaking 1500. This event is closest I've gotten to 1000 being like 1400-something. And even I know I probably won't break the 1000 mark to get a 3rd star on my Leo. I'll be lucky if I do, but I would say with about 98% certainty, I won't break that mark.

Because event rewards are still so rigid with definitive rank numbered tiers, it discourages me from trying in events after I get the final or penultimate threshold reward. If tiers were percentile based however, I could probably make do with my strong crew, and so could many others. But even with my strong crew wherein I have enough people to run 4 shuttles at 65+% as well as 6-8hr voyages, I can't make it.

I'm not saying others who have less than me don't make it, because I know some do, but I definitely feel with what I have that I should be able to make it. Listing below what I've got...
    -18 immortal 5*s, 3 Lv.100 4/5*s, 9 Lv.100 3/5*s, 5 Lv.100 2/5*s, 2 Lv.100 1/5*s, and 40 Lv.100 4*s

In terms of strong developed crew (i.e. Lv.100 super rares and legendaries) which are frequent in event bonuses, I have...
-2 Janeways - Arachnia and Captain (both immortal)
    -1 Data - Tempted (immortal)
-4 Bashirs - Mirror (immortal), RAF (immortal), Alternate (immortal), and Agent (4/5 stars)
-3 Jadzias - 1701 (immortal), Princess (immortal), and Lt. Cmdr (4/5 stars)
-3 Kirks - Mirror (immortal), Romulan (immortal), and Rura Penthe (2/5 stars, has over 1000 SEC)
-3 Spocks - Mirror (immortal), Laborer (3/5 stars), Gangster (2/5 stars)

In terms of crew with skills of over 700 base, I have...
    -18 CMD, 15 DIP, 17 ENG, 14 SEC, 12 MED, and 15 SCI

So if I'm wrong in thinking my roster can make the top 1-10% in an event, let me know, but I think I could definitely make it if event rewards were granted on percentile range rather than rank numbers.

I think 1500 is more reasonable based on the player base, but I also think that they need to adjust rewards throughout. The simple fact is that between 1000 and 25 no one really cares. The jump from 26 to 25 is 1 legendary and a 10 premium pull. From 26 to 1000 the main difference is trainers and no one really cares about those especially if you are ranking that high.

I know DB doesn't like to give out legendary characters at all but I do think the reward structure should be

    1500 - 1 legendary
    1000 - 2 legendaries
    500 - 3 legendaries
    100 - 4 legendaries
    5 - 5 legendaries

This will never happen so my only other thought would be to reward more premium pulls throughout. DB gives away 1 for galaxy events for player participation and one of the biggest complaints longer term players have is that the beholds give a lot of duplicates. Well increasing this and rewarding more would increase participation and hopefully satisfy some of the discontent people have. In addition, simply adding new tiers to the threshold will make people happier especially if the reward is worth it.

Finally, I don't think DB will go percentage based because it would probably require a lot of time reprogramming the reward structure.

I mostly agree, but the Arena rewards are percentage-based already. Is the coding issue different for events? Honest question, not being flippant.
