I spend money playing this game, and even I detest this.

I try to be positive and think there is far too much complaining on the forums. But even this is too much. It isn't even a good value. Forcing people to pay is one thing, but you get so little for so much money. This just screams "if you won't pay, you don't matter."

You got to be kidding me. I go after all the new crew, but $50 for 1 copy, I will not bite on this greedy, cash grab. It amazes me how much WRG finds new ways to alienate its customer base.

Ever since I "caught up" collecting crew (finished everything that could be obtained by ordinary means), I think my spending has gone up as I've tried to stay on top of it. This breaks my run. No reason to push as hard now. I'm not one to threaten to quit just because I don't like something, but I can say that I see no reason to try so hard to get every crew anymore, since there will be a permanent gaping hole in my roster. Spending is going to go down as a result. That's not a threat of any kind, just analysis of my own behavior.

That is what a single copy of the Legendary for an Event costs. However, the Event Legendary also has Event Packs and other stuff.

Observation: It IS interesting that this happened to drop days after people said he needs a Legendary version. However, obviously there would have been time involved in all the approvals, as we know very well. So, has to be unrelated. Just funny it happened that way!

If they'd charged $5 or maybe $10, I'd have considered it. Use him as a way to get people to go to the web store instead of ignoring it.

But the way I look at it, for one 1* Boimler I could get the Ultimate campaign for two months which would give me 4 4* crew (two of which are also decent exclusives), eight legendary citations and a pile of resources... It's a pretty easy call.

I know that wrg is not immune to inflation and the cost of business going up. I know they need more money to keep going at the rate they have been going. And i know that they need to show improving revenue to continue to exist.

But i really, really think they need to invest in someone who has a better background in both marketing and a solid understanding of how players play, and value, this game.

The unconditional sledgehammer seems nice, but there are better with 6 seconds and since it has only 2 uses, the cycle time is unimportant. I would never buy it, but if it would make a difference in fbb, others would. Good luck to those who want it. It just doesn't appeal to me remotely enough to spend real money.

There doesn't look like there is any rain to buy him. If the couple completionists want to spend $50 they can. The rest of us can wait until he's in the portal. And if WRG only makes ~$500 the market will teach them how to price their crew. And if they do sell enough at that price, then apparently the whales are enough to keep the game going on their own.

I've seen worse. While I was tempted for an android second, I think the $50 will scare people. But I know people will spend 6500 Dil for a chance at a crew and that seems worse. While I don't do 6500 pulls, I have spent $200 chasing a Sisko before. So it's probably an alright deal overall, it just would have made more sense if it was a high demand crew that people have been looking for forever.

I think if it was actually going to stay exclusive it might be an ok deal, but i cant imagine anyone dropping 50 bucks on it and being “meh” about it being added to the portal, whenever wrg decides that its time to do so.

Agree the price is ridiculous and easy to walk away from. Agree with most comments above.

Everyone voicing concerns of cost may make them lower the next exclusive offer.

Another point to be made….. what about the majority of common players in the game.
Why are we being forced into a “monopoly”? Every player already has a mechanism or 2 for purchasing if wanted.
Attempting to force people to adopt another mode of purchasing is wrong. You must sign up for, enter payment and personal info into another online platform solely for WRG to make more money with limiting the middle man fee for other platforms.
I wonder how much programming resources are going in to this web-store instead of fixing some stuff in the game we've already paid for ten times over. Like fixing the chats?
We have many ways already set to purchase offers we don't need another.
This offer, its mechanism of purchase and price, make it easy to walk away. In a card collecting game when you can easily turn away and not care to ever have the card, it is the beginning of the end. This goes with the honor hall single portion of a ship way overpriced. Thank you for stopping the urge to spend, again, WRG. 🖖🏻

Seriously, what exactly were y'all thinking here, @WRG Team ? Did the TP Marketing Department send down a missive from on high? Because this "exclusive" offer that prices out 95%+ of your players, including some notable whales & completionists, just strikes me as stupid ... not well thought out.

I mean, Auto said it better than me earlier, but your performance the past few weeks has led me to begin my annual sabbatical a few weeks early.

You know, since it is intended as an exclusive crew it should have probably have been $2,999.99 for the single, and a cool $20,000 for the 5 copies. At least at that price point it is more realistic that only one captain would have taken the chance for first to immortalize, making it a truly exclusive crew.

I spend between $30 and upwards of $400 every single Tuesday, to get the new shiny card and immortalize it. Traveling Man said it well, once you get all the crew immortalized, it is expensive to keep the train going.

Today I spent $50, plus $25 for DYC - and since I like to dupe, I got 2 copies of a top 10 voyager for $75 plus 7 cites. That's waaaaaaay cheaper than the last few Tuesday crew I've gotten and duped.

So I'm happy about 'getting out cheap' for this Tuesday, but I'm not happy about the new experiment to paywall a crew, bundled with an OE to paywall the final tier, etc etc.

Even I have my limits and I think we have begun to find that I too should re-evaluate how much I want to spend on this game going forward, if this is indeed the signs of things to come.

And that does put it in a good perspective. For those that do buy the new 5* on Tuesday's this isn't that bad of a deal. For those looking to buy a 5* it does seem a bit high. I guess it shows its all perspective. For me, I only tend to change the 4* crew on Tuesday's (and a rare 5* here or there) so I can see the logic in being able to do the 50$ spend, but yeah, I only chase if I have the Dil on hand as it doesn't feel like I'm spending real money then.
