I’m forced to agree with you...other than in a few instances, Jake just wasn’t that great of a character. But I think DB found one of the few times that Jake was remotely interesting and I’m not busted up that he’s an event crew. I will be mad, however, if this version of Jake means we don’t get a 5* Possessed Jake next month.

Jake actually had a decent character arc. His friendship with Nog, his decision to become a writer etc. were all great to watch in the later seasons. Sure early on he was under-developed, but he became interesting.

Jake actually had a decent character arc. His friendship with Nog, his decision to become a writer etc. were all great to watch in the later seasons. Sure early on he was under-developed, but he became interesting.
Definitely not the most boring.
He's not the most exciting, that's for sure, but Jake deserves due representation in this game. Jake himself is quite accomplished and grows a good bit over the series. And even if you overlook that, there's the fact that Jake is a huge influence on what drives Sisko's actions sometimes.
I think we still need more versions of Jake like 1-2* Teenager Jake and 4-5* Pah-Wraith Possessed Jake. Also, War-Correspondent Jake better have some MED, he was being an impromptu medic.
As for Archer, I cannot contain how utterly blissful I am at him finally being given due event representation. Honestly, it took too long, but at least it took.
As for this version of Archer, I am excited, but I do think his debut event version could have been something snazzier like Kir'Shara Archer or regular ol' Captain Archer. But I'll take it.
And, let me say pre-emptively, DB had better not think "okay, we're doing/have done one Archer event, now the people will shut up", cause hell no lol, we'd better be getting a good number of Archer events in the future to give the character accurate representation among his other captain peers as well as to catch up on all the shafting him these past two years. We better be seeing something like...

I'm not yes or no on it, but we have to think of one that would have it.
DB already has the artwork for Captain Archer that they can and should use.
So I don't want a version of Archer that's not able to have a reference other than "Archer with Porthos" lol. Maybe if it's from Strange New World then Porthos can be a part of the art for Explorer Archer as Archer discovered the planet Archer IV and took Porthos along with him in the episode.

If Captain Janeway can be Coffee Janeway, I don't see why Captain Archer can't be Porthos Archer.

2x 5* Archers already exist. What, you want every Archer, Janeway, and Picard to be 5*? No 2* Archer? No 3*? In fact there is no 3* Archer, I'd be happier with that (as a placement prize) than yet another 5* that I may or may not 1/5.
Not everyone plays the game at the collect 5/5 FF/FE character level. Give some 4* love to the rest of us.
