I like 4 star Archer because I will have a chance to FF/FE him.

We hope so, but this is Archer-hating DB. He could be the ranked reward.

I'll be happy with this event. I have a 3/4 Rogue Kim that I can finish and freeze, and a new Archer is always welcome.

I don't expect to pull a Jake, but I'll try one pack, then do thresholds and stop.

He's not the most exciting, that's for sure, but Jake deserves due representation in this game. Jake himself is quite accomplished and grows a good bit over the series.

Couldn't agree more. In season one, he's the shortest, and in season seven he's the tallest!

That's cause he was a good boy and drank his juice.

A very mixed bag, interesting. Jake will be a cool looking card, I expect he'll have a stonking diplomacy skill. It would be nice to grab Archer and finish off Harry Kim I must admit.

Jake Sisko, one of the most boring characters in trek history. But i am sure DB will compensate with power creep status. :D

You must be new to Star Trek. Good job starting with DS9.

I seriously can not believe that someone can call Jake boring especially when we have Harry Kim in the same event!

I’m not a huge Jake fan but you have a point - Harry Kim was pretty wretched. So much time wasted on him that could have been used to keep developing Chakotay, too...sad.
  • Of course why not break out Rogue Harry Kim when I just (yesterday) airlocked my 4* level 60 to free out room :s . I guess Forra Gegen and Amanda Grayson will be next to be used????

As it's not important to point that he is 4* here then do you mean that you had him FF? And lv60? And airlocked him? Then it's 100% on you, freezing him was at most day work, two days of work for newbie.

Jake is great! He helped Nog to learn to read when Nog was pulled out of school. Without Jake helping him Nog never joins Starfleet. Without Jake, Ben Sisko and Kasidy Yates never meet and never fall in love and get married. Without Jake, when the Klingons attacked the Federation infimary everyone would have died. Jake saved the day and saved everyone by accidentally causing a cave collapse. Everyone thought Jake was a hero and he could have just revelled in that but instead he told the truth about what happened at great cost to himself. When the Dominion took DS9 Jake stayed behind at great risk to himself and helped the resistance that disabled the weapons on DS9 so that the Dominion could not shoot down the Defiant and his father was able to then get the Prophets to remove all the Jem Hadar ships. And when Jake and Nog shuttle were attacked by the Dominion and they were rescued by the dubious Red Squad it was only Jake that saw through the leader of Red Squad and tried to convince them all to not go through with their reckless plan to fight a super dominion warship. The plan that got most of them killed. And when Ben Sisko was killed it was Jake who was there to help Kasidy. In conclusion, Jake is great!

And you didn't even include one of the best episodes of trek out there in The Visitor

In all seriousness, there's no reason to ever airlock a 4/4 FF character at any level. You mark them as a favorite and you spend the 2 or 3 days required to finish them up. It's much easier to farm items from missions and shuttles, or at worst replicate, than it is to get extra copies of the characters.

Take it from me, I have near a hundred 4* characters just waiting on extra copies that may never come. But they're all fully equipped. Because that's the easy part. Yes, even Klingon Quark and Proton Paris. Ugh, so much ugh for them.

I agree that it is kind of silly to air lock a fully fused 4*, but I don't think the original poster said he had him fully fused? maybe it was just one or two copies. Also you sound like a vet? but you are talking about the challenge of holding on to 4*s and not getting copies, like Klingon quark and proton paris. Im fairly certain both of those have been in events, at least once? I could of had proton paris x2 if I had really wanted one. so you might wanna keep an eye out, if they do a repeat again;)

Thou Honestly I would of kept jake even if he wasn't fully fused, mainly cause hes a main cast character and more likely to be used in events then some of the cameo chars you could get rid of, but that might just be me lol

You're absolutely right, they didn't mention it being fully fused. I apologize. But yes, the main point of my argument is that, as a veteran player, I can tell you my only TRUE remaining bottleneck in this game is collecting copies of super rare and legendary characters. All those little bottlenecks along the way - credits, replicator rations, chronitons, faction items - they all disappear eventually. But you'll never find an easier way to collect copies of characters without spending a literal fortune in cash. Thus, the true bottleneck.

And no, my reference to Klingon Quark and Proton Paris were that they were the two most difficult Super Rares for me to equip. Granted, that was back when I didn't have as many items in my equipment. That being said, I mean I have 19 super rares with 3/4 stars waiting on that last pull from a voyage or pack, and the rest at 1 or 2 stars sitting in my crew useless to me. But all of them are fully equipped.

I think they just reached a point with Chakotay where they couldn't do much. He became a boring character when he was at the centre of an episode and they ran out of things to do. They couldn't get rid of the second in command near the end so they just ran him out when you needed filler command guys. Same with Kim or Neelix. You need filler/second tier Eng, Med, Sci too so they spend time developing them so you can throw an extra character into a scenario that needs more developed characters.

Sometimes though, I think some filler characters are developed more because of their relationship to a main character.
  • I am soooo confused. Oh well nothing new. If the Events follow "SUIT" the skills will mismatch the mission requirements. 7isazgnw154r.gif

Cool appreciate the clarification, helps most of us still learning. I appreciate the bottleneck dilemma already, but it has to be even more difficult for freebie players, who cant afford to open more slots, Im assuming they have to make even more painful decisions. I would say the only saving grace with 3/4 super rares, is that there is always the option to use honor for citation, but it would kill me to do that over the 1/5 legendary graveyard I have waiting to be upgraded from all the events lol

Don't do it! The minute you use honor to FF an older super-rare, that's when you'll get it in a voyage or pack. Only use honor on the new ones that aren't available in packs yet.

It's like DB monitors my account and when I get and airlock a super rare, they put it in the next event. I coulda had a Harry....

That would require patience and putting off gratification today for tomorrow. There are quite a few people on the forum that have no interest in resource/space management. "Take an event off to square my crew away?! That's not fair! rabble rabble...." lol

I think it is great that they aren’t following any one countries holidays anymore. Keep the events consistent Thursday to Monday and everyone plays at the same level... because I’m sure that in space, calendar dates won’t have as much importance as it is just another day.
