This may be my first zero bonus crew event in a year. Should be an interesting control group event for comparison.
You were mailed an EV Suit Archer. Boom! Event crew.
While he's appreciated, he's third back in my mailbox queue behind Suus Menha Sarek and Will Scarlett, due to lack of open crew slots. He's not likely to see active duty until the next crew slot sale/giveaway, if even then.
You know, the Archer is worth having, and SOMETIMES Sarek makes it onto my Voyages. But I don't think I've ever used Will Scarlett Worf. Guess it depends on who else you have. But I'd say take Archer out of the retail box packaging first.
Archer's base CMD is pretty decent and tops all my 4/4's except for Warlord Kes. I think that justifies burning a slot on him.
Agree that Dr. Seuss Sarek is occasionally useful for Voyages, mostly for trait matches.
Will Scarlet Worf is decent for Arena play, but he needs at least two stars to be really useful. I think he's been 45% crit in Gauntlet a couple of times.
I disagree. I think if you're a legit SPY like Section 31 or you're on an extended mission of surveillance/espionage like Crusher and Picard in that TNG episode with Gul Madred, then you get the Undercover Operative trait.
If you're just trying to dress up and trick someone, you're in a costume. He was putting on a show for Degra.
They’ve used Undercover Operative in the manner suggested before, on people that were intelligence operatives and people that weren’t, so it definitely applies for Archer, or should. The trait Spy is still in use and is perfectly acceptable for Section 31 types. I could also easily see some characters having both, given the right episode and whatnot. A Formal Dress/Section 31 Bashir, for example, should have Undercover Operative and Spy, since he’s acting as an agent of 31 AND trying to get information on the Section so he can expose them for regular Starfleet.
As far as I know, there’s only one or two crew that are still lingering about with the Spy trait, so they could, of course, just do what they had said they were going to do and get rid of it and lump all of those different qualities into Undercover Operative. Will they? Who knows?
Weirdly enough, I’m also Vulcan Housewife. Also, RNGesus hates me, like really, REALLY hates me.
I liked it I started with Kim FFFE, and unfroze 3* Jake and Kim, for the Faction. Both are back in the freeze Archer is FF and level 100. Jake is 2*s and level 100.
I went for it, and thanks to lack of other folks interest I was able to get Jake for a lot fewer chrons than most galaxy/hybrid 5s. So I not only got Jake, but FEd my Augment Picard, and Alternative Future Bashir for the event. (Even had some left over and started leveling my 1/4 Gabriel Bell. If I get desperate during the event might have to burn some honor on him...)

Remember the tooth!
Never had an interest beyond that.
