Have it run an entire week or 10 days..

    And.... You lost me.
  • 6 days event now? Most ppl actually have real life commitment and things to do.... (maybe except the ~1500 of them that work so hard to be in top 1000 and the top 50 players that wasted so much money instead of just buying the pack and done).

Or maybe it is end of quarter and DB needs to pull in more $$$ to meet their targets.

    Lol..
Could do a standard length version too..
Not against that by any means..

But I do think a marathon event could also be fun

I just hope this is a one off and not the beginning of a game where there is always an event running. We are going thursday to wednesday then there will be another event on thursday after that so only one day without an event.
    Let’s fly!

What about a continuous event, with an option to either cash out ranked rewards every day or let it ride? I mean, if Events are the new daily play (96 of 128 hours/week), then why not be bold? :#

WTF DB...7 days? So you think we want MORE events? We don't, Events take WAY TOO LONG! This **tsk tsk** and is a disgrace! Plus, since one part is Galaxy anyway, nobody is interested anyway in competing. It's threshold and then nothing! If it were without Galaxy people would compete, but like that?

Which braindead moron gave you the idea to make a f-ing 7 day event!

I have an idea...why not make a 365 day galaxy event. You know what they say: Give the people what they don't want! You are the perfect company doing exactly that!

Set up a DS9 Augment event. Hype the event to DS9 fans
    -Include zero Cardassian/Dominion cards
-Include 1 of the Augment misfits from DS9 but not the Admiral Patrick which many requested
-Include a lot of Enterprise, voyager, TOS, and TNG cards
-Make Bell Riots Bashir look like a Jedi extra from Phantom Menace
-Use made up character for finale 5* card when there are a lot of good DS9 requested cards to choose from.
-Make the last event 6 days long

    Wonder why profits are down.

Why are we assuming profits are down?

Wait for it. Scroll up and look at all the dissatisfied player comments about this "event". Do they sound like people who will be opening their wallets wide for this?

Even if every single post in this thread was of a player saying they won't be spending money this week (which is not the case), that would be 147 people. Out of a player base of, what, 50,000? Hardly a drop in the bucket.

If everyone stopped spending money every time the event went a day longer, they'd stop extending events. If everyone stopped spending money every time they featured a non-canon character, they'd stop featuring non-canon characters. If people had voted for Cardassians or Dominion, DB would probably have featured Cardassians or Dominion.

The voices on this board are loud, but they aren't unified, and they certainly don't speak for the entire player base. And if you don't like what's on offer, don't play this event. No one is forcing you to.

We are the ones who care enough to post enough in here. People who barely care will probably not be huge spenders. Keep defending DB though you're doing a great job being contrary to complaints against them.

Not defending DB in any way, but he does have a point. DB would be out of business if it was relying on the income from the forum posters. In the example of 147 forum posters, even if each of them have spent an average of $1,000 (a lot are f2p) that would be $147,000. That's likely to be enough to cover 1 month of the company salaries, utilities, equipment costs, hosting fees, etc. So the vast majority of the revenue has to come from non-forum posters.

So let me get this straight. You guys want us to spend money on this game, but put two of the most time sinking event types at the end and beginning of a work week, and extend it out to the middle of said work week? You have truly lost your minds and I have fleet members so disheartened over it they are contemplating leaving the game.

Awe! Are they gonna take their little ball and go home? Get over it. They don’t have to participate and STT life will still go on

I am sure DB doesn't have the same reaction to lost customers...making fun of customers when they say they might leave due to dissatisfaction is a great way to slowly but surely lose revenue. Timelines will surely go on if people from that guys fleet leave but how many other people feel this way. I certainly am starting to feel this way and I spend around $500 a month on this game. Is DB going to make fun of me and tell me 'we don't need you and your $500' and others like me? This attitude of "you don't have to participate if you don't want to" will bankrupt an entertainment business as it alienates customers. That is a horrible business model for any kind of company. DB should as a company be looking at these complaints and disappointed posts about

    1. the perfunctory 5* they picked that most people int he forum posted negatively about
    2. this 6 day event.
    3. the complaints overall about this mega event in order to make the next one more of a success

Not caring about the fan base and the players wants is a short sighted business model and a fast track to a sharp decline in revenue.
  • The way to improve a product is to critique it. Blowing complement smoke in DBs face when they give us something stupid like Augment O'Brien isn't helping the product. I use to spend more than $500 a month before I became increasingly less satisfied. That isn't a lot of money.
  • I really wanted an Augment Portos. How about some originality

I also look at the other side of the coin. When I see something I like or enjoy, I have no problem telling them I like or enjoy it.

Exactly. And even if I like something I see the whole picture. So of course there are areas where this game could be improved. But slashing everything about it and the company it creates all around the clock is no critique and zero constructive. Don´t know, if I would be as dissatisfied with something like the "ultimate grumpyness" seems to be I would neither waste time nor money on it :p

You know, I don’t want to sound too snipey or give too much offense, but what world do you live in?! To mere mortals like myself, $500 is still a lot of money, especially for purely digital content. If I could randomly throw that kind of cash around I most likely would but it would still register as a lot to me.
Weirdly enough, I’m also Vulcan Housewife. Also, RNGesus hates me, like really, REALLY hates me.

    Potatoes O’Brien

This would have been closer to canon since I’m sure the food replicators could make them

    egzwadf1d1u0.jpeg

Ha! That is correct as I’m sure they existed in the Star Trek universe

It's half of a car payment. I don't know why you think that is an excessive amount.

Bummer, a 6 day event when I am on holiday in Hawaii.
Spend time giving my thumb carpel tunnel or hit the surf?
    Tough choice.
